Kindle Copy for Review from NetGalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing).

I received a free, advance copy of this book and this is my unbiased and voluntary review.
No one does small town romances like Melinda Curtis. She is back with a new series situated in Sunshine, Colorado which features the town widow matchmaking club where no one is off limits.

Recently city widower ends up in the small town after a short marriage which left her not knowing her husband as well as she thought as he held secrets. She isn’t looking for a relationship as she is weary of the opposite sex.

Local sheriff isn’t looking either as he been unlucky in love. The two meet up when she asks for help about her dead husband past. Soon they realize that they might have more in common than meets the eye. A nice sweet romance.

A quirky, no steam read about small town life, love, forgiveness and finding love again. I loved the quirkiness of the story telling and the characters with my favorite being Becky. There was lots of drama but I found it a little slow moving for me. There is also the bonus of a no steam short story by another author that was a cute read.

3.5 stars

Lola is going through her husband’s things a year after his death and uncovers evidence that he was unfaithful. It sends her into a tailspin and subsequent wild-goose chase to track down his lover for answers. At the same time, the widow’s club is looking to do some matchmaking. Enter Drew, local sheriff and single father. He’s got his own crisis brewing while dealing with all the chaos Lola is creating. Neither is ready for a relationship, let alone love, but that won’t stop the meddling widow’s club from trying.

I really liked Lola, even though her search for answers made her seem a little desperate. Drew is a good man at his heart but he said some really stupid things, true as they may be, that made me want to slap him. The chemistry between them was great, but I didn’t really like how the author played it out. Honestly, the whole story was really, really slow. I got tripped up at times by the sheer volume of names and characters and relationships to keep track of, especially when one of them hadn’t been mentioned in a while. There were a few subplots that I’m not sure necessarily enhanced the book, especially given the book’s pace. The book had some laughs and some drama, and was probably a pretty good depiction of small town life.

Loved this book! At first, Can't Hurry Love appeared to be a simple, fun, light romance but man does it build into something much deeper. Lola has recently found out a secret about her deceased husband causing her to go on a hunt for answers. The town sheriff, Drew, wants Lola to leave things be so as not to stir up trouble. At the same time, his past comes to haunt him in the form of an ex-wife who wants back in their daughter's life. Add in a small town full of lovable, fun characters, a group of matchmaking widows, and large, sight-challenged pig and you have a hysterical and sweet tale of friendship and romance. I really enjoyed this one and give it 4 1/2 stars which I'll round up to 5. I definitely recommend.

Thank you to Forever and NetGalley for this ARC. The opinions are my own.

Such a sweet story.
This is a story about a woman, Lola, who fell in love with a man and gave up everything, to move across the country to be with him. After only a year she finds herself a widow. Mourning for a year she’s prepared to go through her husband’s things and part with them. Then she finds proof that her husband had many secrets. In finding answers, she encounters the town sherif, Drew. Drew tries to keep her from causing too much trouble in her search for answers. They feel an attraction, but neither want to acknowledge it. But the little group of old ladies, The Widows Club, have other ideas in store for the two.
I absolutely adored this book. It was sweet, and funny and heartwarming. The characters are wonderful, especially Becky. The story was well written and you could picture everything so clearly as you are reading. This is the first book of this authors that I have read, but I’ll definitely look into more of her books. Definitely recommend.

This is a perfect read for those who enjoy cute, small-town romances with absolutely delightful lead characters. Lola and Drew serve that purpose perfectly in this book. Drew, a single dad, town sheriff, lives with his daughter, Becky who is an absolutely adorable girl. Lola, recently widowed, moved from NYC to a small town in Colorado, finds out that her dead husband had cheated her for some time. Now she wants to find out more and is looking for closure.

Drew and Lola have that sparkling chemistry right away but keep away from each other for various practical reasons. This chemistry was both interesting and adorable though there is not any steam. Lola has this unpredictable and fun element in her which made her a character with never a dull moment. Drew is the perfect man every woman wants - sturdy, loyal, caring and everything. The matchmakers of the small town are cute and entertaining as usual even when they are interfering and trying to help second chance romances in their town. When Drew’s ex-wife came back in his life, I expected some major drama but I felt it ended up rather too quickly.

I understand there are always other characters in such plots but I felt there were some bits and pieces that were not necessary especially the whole pig related portion. There is a lot of drama involving Lola making her the soul of the book. I liked her characterization and enjoyed the witty sarcastic banter between her and Drew.

I totally enjoyed this cute and entertaining small-town romance!

Many thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for this advanced reader copy.

I read and really enjoyed the Christmas Wish earlier this year. When I saw a new book by Melinda Curtis in the same Sunshine Valley, I was so excited to read. I was not disappointed. Can't Hurry Love is funny and heartwarming and those Widow's club ladies are just so much fun. I really enjoyed watching Lola learn through her grief and discover what matters to her and to her life through finding her late husband's past. I love that her lessons made her brave and strong and dig deep into herself and all of those things led her to Drew.

Lola Williams has been a widow for a year and has just figured out her husband cheated on her. She is mad as a wet hen and determined to track down all his lovers.
Sheriff Drew Taylor is used to looking out for his sisters and now thinks he has to help Lola, but boy is she giving him headaches. No matter how hard he tries he can’t convince her to move on and forget about her husbands lovers, no good will come of knowing. This book is about love, small town life and at times you will be laughing out loud. The pig is a hilarious addition to the story. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.

This book was such a good read, I couldn't put it down! The story and the characters were so well written it felt as if you were actually in the story!

This book was good, this was my first time reading author Melinda Curtis. I enjoyed the story but found it moved very slowly & I was a little let down with how it ended. I don’t think that Drew & Lola kissed more than 3xs in the entire story. It was definitely a fun story but also had its hints of drama & sadness. I enjoyed the quirkinesses of Lola & the stubbornness of Drew, as well as the matchmaking of the Widows Club & the sweetness & spunk of little Becky. There were many funny moments & sad moments during this book but the take away for me was, a father loving his daughter to the point he’d put his own happiness aside to make sure she stayed safely with him.

Can't Hurry Love is the first Melinda Curtis book I have read, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Secrets, lies, betrayals have all come to the fore in this story of loss and finding love again.

I laughed out loud at times, and I may have shed a tear or two as events were revealed.

I adore the Widow's Club and their well-meaning meddling.

Lola and Drew's story was not always an easy road to love, but one that I enjoyed being taken on the journey with them.

I am looking forward to more in the Sunshine Valley series - please don't make me wait too long.

A cute story that gives a good glimpse of how small town life really is. Melinda shows a great deal of knowledge about forgiveness with the way she wrote this story.

This was the first time I've read a book by Melinda Curtis and it will definitely not be the last! This book made me laugh, cry, and read way too late when I should have gone to bed but I just couldn't make myself put it down. I can't wait to see whose story she'll write next for the next book in the Sunshine Valley series
