A wonderful slice-of-life character study of a tiny girl and a mysterious shadow, colored by discovery and friendship.

A vividly designed narrative of adventure and daring, featuring a little girl (very little indeed, in fact) and her wide, wondrous world. Originally called "A Thimbleful of Courage", this is a very imaginative look at how you have to take things by the horns and go exploring, and to some extent face up to your demons to get anywhere. The reduced use of colour seems perfectly right for this book, making every page distinctive, while the simple text will only appeal. Four and a half stars.

The illustrations are really stunning. However, the story did not seem to flow as well as most children’s picture books do. When it ended it didn’t really feel like a story or lesson was shown to the reader. While I love the illustrations the story was missing some pieces. Thank you to Netgalley for giving us the opportunity for an ARC.

A lovely story about a tiny creature and his/her courage. The main character is a miniature human being, roaming around a house every day, enjoying his/her life and met something scary one day and unfold a fun friendship story.

Taltal Levi's illustration is simple, with a limited color palette, use a lot of lines, perhaps her signature strokes. Her effective composition makes the story line really stands out. The ending is also brings a lot space for imagination of kids.

Being a child I always love stories about miniature human beings. I totally believed they exist. Even now I still think there is a possibility that in the big forest, there are some tiny tiny human like creatures, it is just that we are too dull to see them. This book definitely will stimulate children's imagination, and tell them a little bit more about courage.

A Little Courage by Taltal Levi is a wonderful little book. A brilliant story alongside some magnificent illustrations. My little niece loved it.

This is a cute little story about a cute tiny girl. I love miniature people. I adore how a glass of water becomes a pool, a roll of toilette paper is a fun ride. Taltal goes on adventures during the day and finds curious things as she searches for treasures. She enjoys her life as she lives in the plant pot. She is brave and does not hide as the shadow follows her one day. The shadow turns out to be the cat, but she is not sure if she should trust the cat. Taltal decides to trust the cat, and they become fast friends going on adventures together!

The book is quite short I could have read about their adventures even more, and perhaps there will be a second book.

A Little Courage is a sweet picture book, with concise prose and lovely illustrations that have a very European feel.

This would make a grand addition to a young child's book collection, and I can see many children loving for years.
The story is very simple, imaginative and fun. I like the softly injected moral of "have courage and you will experience new things". New friends sometimes look like scary enemies until you approach them with courage!

I would definitely recommend this book, and will keep an eye out for it when it hits shelves!

Is this magic realism or simply an imagination-based fantasy? I'm not sure, but I enjoyed the story anyway.

A tiny girl wakes up every morning and has adventures among the everyday objects in her house. A glass of water becomes a swimming pool. A potted plant is a tree to climb. And a pin is a sword for fighting a shadowy creature with a propensity to purr...

The illustrations, done in a limited colour palette, are quite fun. There are plenty of details to look at in the pictures.

The ending hints at yet more adventures to be had, and perhaps another friend to be made. It's a little open-ended, but it's the kind of ending that leaves it up to the reader to imagine what might happen next based on what's already happened.

I enjoyed this one. It's a bit different, but well worth a look.

Cute. A tiny child , and I mean tiny, makes friends with a cat. Together they explore a home finding fun things to do (rolling in a roll of toilet paper, taking a cooling bath in the sink...), then they venture outside! I think it's fun story for littles. Very imaginative. Illustrations were amusing; littles will love the pretending!

Illustrated and written to enthralled children who have a sense of adventure and imagination, this book will delight the most intrepid reader. A tiny girl finds fun and adventure when she finds courage to face her fear of the shadow following her. Together they face the day and become friends. Enjoyable story and pictures.

A sweet story about courage and friendship. It was very reminiscent of The Borrowers by Mary Norton, with the main character wearing a thimble on her head and using a pin as a sword.

I loved the pencil drawn illustrations.

I love that the main character is teacup sized. I'm sure that is exactly how children feel in our oversized world. This is a cute story about conquering our fears and allowing ourselves to making new friends. Making friends can be scaring for little one's. They always seem to be able to quickly bust out of their shell and make those relationships quickly. I think a lot of adults could benefit from this example. As a Stay at Home Mom, it can be difficult to find time for relationship building let alone finding a person to whom you would like to invest yourself into. More adults need to learn how to just show up and make the most of every experience and let our insecurities step aside so we can focus more one building relationships.

Sweet little story about the courage to reach out and make a friend. Everyone can seem a little scary from the distance but they can become your friend if you take a chance.

I was given a complimentary copy! The thoughts and opinions are my own!
