Wow! This is a fast-paced, juicy read that left me thinking long after I ended this book. Centered around “fans” who are following the day-to-day vlog of a social media influencer and her family, the lines get blurry regarding how much you really should share in this digital era. Well-written and so damn good!

Thank you NetGalley and Crooked Lane books for this advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

I dnf this book in the middle. I didn't like babbling about Violet and Henry with no drama, crime or something interesting involved.

Maybe its just my taste, but this book was not my cup of Tea.

Thank you NetGalley for chance to read this book.

Violet Young is the mommy vlogger that everyone follows and just can’t get enough of. She has the perfect husband and the 3 adorable children, and people can’t wait to watch her next vlog.

Except that all of sudden, without any warning all of Violet’s social media accounts disappear, leaving everyone to wonder what happened! Where is she? Did her adoring husband do something? Do you really know who Violet Young really is?

Told from the perspective of two of her biggest fans, obsessed with finding out the truth, their search quickly starts to spin a web of lies, betrayal and shocking consequences.

This book was fantastic! I loved the alternate storytelling from the different perspectives. It kept me on my toes and guessing. I really couldn’t wait to see what would happen next. I found myself obsessing about Violet, wondering, what really did happen to her!

This one was ok. It wasn’t the most exciting or thrilling book that I’ve ever read but it still held my attention on the whole.

This was a well developed story line with plenty of interesting characters. Personally it wasn't an edge of seat thriller for me and I felt it was a bit long and drawn out and I was glad when I had finished it.

Thank you to Netgalley and Crooked Lane Books for giving me the opportunity to read this book.

When I picked Unfollow me, I knew it was a thriller themed around an influencer, but I WAS NOT expecting this russian-like roulette of story. It kept me glued to my kindle to read what would happen next until the very end (which rocked, I was not expecting that either!), and with each new information, the image of the characters grew, my initial ideas were shifted until I didn't know anymore what would happen. I especially loved Luke, my praise to him for sticking around.
The influencer problematic and the troubles it brings are well exposed here, the problems of privacy for the people perceived as influencers, how 'we' never know how they're really like but there's some that idolize them, how it attracts people and the reasons why, and the dangers of becoming addicted to an internet personality.
It's a perfect book for readers of thrillers who wants to be engaged until the very end of the story, around the world of influencers.
Thanks Netgalley, Charlotte Duckworth and Cooked Lane Books for gifting me this amazing story, can't wait to read more of Charlotte's books!

Even though I know that books that center so heavily around the social media of today will not age as gracefully as other technologically based books, I still have the urge to pick them up. This book was a really average book but it didn't feel like a thriller at all. I am also very hesitant to say it even felt like a mystery because the whole mystery of it came from the fact that none of the three characters used as narrators revealed all that they knew until they needed to.

It was a really easy to read book and I think that some people would enjoy it but I was definitely not one of those people. All of the characters frustrated me and not in a good way. Lily was a heavy drinker with a young child and it hurt to read her sections, depressing and frustrating. Yvonne had the potential to be a good character but all of her sections were riddled with lines that talked down to women. And there was an entire scene in which she and a random character lamented over how inconvenient it was that someone had killed themselves by jumping in front of a train. (Not a spoiler btw, it just was the reason why the trains were delayed one day). This whole part had me really tempted to just put the book down, the lack of empathy was strong and I was really disappointed.

Like I had said earlier, every twist in this book was not only easy to figure out but also known by at least one of the narrators and it made zero sense to me whatsoever how this could be considered a mystery or a thriller. Sure, it gave off those vibes but once I realized that not one piece of the story was truly missing just made me lose all interest. That partnered with the unhealthy characteristics of each character turned into a disappointing reading experience for me. The ending felt rushed and overall I just wasn't a huge fan of this.

Great book about how what we see online isn't always the truth. The ending really surprised me and I kept on liking the characters in the book and then thinking maybe not.

What a fabulously creepy book!

If you read this and don't at least THINK about deleting your social media accounts, you fear nothing. To get it laid out for you bit by bit of what information people can get from your online presence was a wake-up call..

I had a love/hate relationship with it already, only using it for work but now I'm second-guessing that too!

I really enjoyed this book. It sure makes you think about how our information when put on social media could affect our lives and the lives of others. Lots of twists and turns. Thanks to NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.

This book just didn't work for me. I couldn't stand any of the characters: dishonest, promiscuous and drunks for the most part. Very disappointing.

I could not finish this book. I got very bored with the whole “vlogger person” Violet who millions followed and then she disappeared. I mean, really? Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this book for an honest review. Just not for me.

Thank you for the opportunity to read this book and I really enjoyed it. This book was nothing what I expected but it was a insight to how the world is today and the graphic description of the baby loss was so truthful. I do wish I had bit more of lily life in the epilogue. But it brilliantly written and will defo be looking up Charlottes other books!!

I really enjoyed reading Unfollow Me by Charlotte Duckworth. It was not at all what I was expecting, but it was a pleasant surprise. Unfollow Me is told from a few different points of view after a popular mommy blogger deletes all her social media and seemingly disappears. Lily and Yvonne are both real characters that are fun to follow and figure out the mystery of Violet through their eyes. 4 stars.

Violet is a very popular vlogger with her YouTube channel Violetisblue which she started to talk about her experience with postpartum depression. However, it has morphed into something that also features her husband, her children, her home. She is married to handsome Henry and has lots of fans...and many woman who are jealous of her comfortable lifestyle.
Then...Violet disappears - all of her social media sites have been shut down which sets her mummy followers all of a twitter.
I couldn’t put this book down. The story is told by Henry, Lily and Yvonne and they all have their secrets. The storyline is so very clever - so nice and twisty. The characters are fully fleshed out. Highly recommended. Ms. Duckworth has written another book called “The Rival”. You can be sure I’ll be buying that one.

This fast-paced read is centered around Violet, a vlogger mom of 3, who suddenly disappears from social media, leaving thousands of fans, most notably Yvonne and Lily, frantic to find out what happened to her. The story is told primarily from Yvonne's and Lily's POVs as they try to find out what happened to Violet.

There was a delicious sense of discomfort throughout the entire book, as you catch snippets of what was going on in Violet's life woven in with the things that Yvonne and Lily are doing to track her down, leaving you wondering what the relationships between these (and other) characters are really like and where the truth really lies.

I would recommend this book for anyone that likes suspense, even if you aren't sure you're interested in the vlogger theme that is so relevant for our times. There is something for everyone in this story.

Thanks to Netgalley for providing me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Violet has a blessed life. A lovely home, engages hands on with her three beautiful daughters and has an attractive, doting husband. All of this is painstakingly captured on camera for the world to see. With a mega following on youtube, facebook, instagram and more, mommy vlogger Violet suddenly deletes all trace of her social media career; all accounts, all channels, leaving her public to wonder what has happened to her.

This book is told in multiple points of view by people who want to know that Violet is safe, from people that hate her guts and people who know her personally. It was kind of terrifying actually. It was a contemporary thriller that had the pacing and very much reminded me of Big Little Lies style of story telling.

This was truly so much fun to read. It was a very twisty, turny view into the world of youtube mommy vloggers, or really anyone who has a strong online presence or is an influencer. You don't always take into consideration how much of your real life is broadcasted and how many of your personal details are given so freely to people when you share everything online. What happens when that important information is used by someone who may not care about your best interests... or worse; actively want to be a part in your downfall? I could go on and on about trolls and negativity and rude comments... but I won't

Unfollow Me tells the story of three women, a single mother, Lily, a woman with issues conceiving, Yvonne and Violet, the influencer mommy who goes on a media blackout with no warning. The interesting thing about this premise is that 20 years ago this would not have been a book. The society we find ourselves now has lent to a lack of privacy that leads to obsession. Violet is seen as the perfect beautiful mother and wife, whose life is so easy and handling her three kids has been even easier. After creating her Youtube channel to connect with others and share her struggles with PND (post-natal depression), mothers and soon-to-bes flock to offer sympathy, criticism and advice.

The book begins when Violet goes dark - all of her social media accounts and videos have been deleted, leading her followers to speculate that something happened to her. (Because they know her, she wouldn’t just do that) Lily is particularly obsessed, hatching a plan to check out her house and her daughter’s school. Yvonne is stuck not being able to get pregnant by her husband. His sperm count is low and they have tried everything. Obsession is not her drug of choice but envy.

Tensions spark and collide as her loyal followers come out from behind the screen and into her life. This was the most terrifying part of the book. The writing was sharp and tight and everything mentioned tied back to something that was necessary for the story to make sense. The webs were so intricate and I was dumbstruck with how many things were tied up in each other. I thought that I knew what happened and I was completely wrong.

I would recommend this. If anything to just see where this trend is going, with Followers coming out in January, I’m excited about this new foray in fiction.
