Great devotions but sometimes they just felt a little bland and not directed at anything, which kind of bothered me.

This is a beautiful devotional book for women. It has three minute readings and scripture which apply to our everyday lives and the world we live in today. The readings speak to my heart and remind me that Jesus is always with me.

I am reviewing a copy of Come Away My Beloved: 3-Minute devotions for Women through Barbour Books and Netgalley:



If you are looking for a good women's devotional may I recommend Come Away My Beloved, this devotional is broken up in easy to read three minute segments, good for even the busiest women amongst us.



This book reminds us that without holiness no man shall see God. We are reminded too of our dependence on God and what a blessing that is. We cannot see what lies in the distance but the good Lord can.


We are encouraged to hold firmly to Jesus' hand as we walk our path through life. We are reminded too that he carries our burdens for us and comforts us through our grief.



Frances J Roberts goes on to remind us that our obedience brings joy to the Lord's heart. We are encouraged too, to be a yielded believing vessel. As well as being reminded that with Christ by our side we will not be defeated.



The importance of obeying God's words is highlighted in this devotional as well. We are reminded too that the good Lord brings us comfort in times of trouble and infliction.



I give Come Away My Beloved five out of five stars!

This book of devotions is perfect for those moments when you want to read something for a boost of encouragement and inspiration. I read some of Frances J. Roberts writing many years ago, and was delighted to have an opportunity to read this book. This is one that you’ll want to keep close at hand and read each day. Each devotion is based on a specific Bible verse, and then reflects the thoughts in that verse. This book showcases Frances Roberts’ writings in a new, fresh way.

This book is beautifully written, and gives women a chance to spend 3 minutes with Jesus when their schedules are so busy.

I love the gentle colors inside the book and the colorful cover. Women want to have pretty things around them and for me, I find it special to have something pretty for my time with Jesus.

Each post is thoughtful, deep and takes you to a place where you can meet with Jesus.

This is the perfect devotional for today's fast-paced society. It is short, sweet, and to-the-point. Each reading contains a scripture verse and a short reflection that applies to the life of today's woman. The reflections are relevant and helpful.

Fans of Spurgeon’s Morning and Evening will delight in Frances J. Roberts’ Come Away My Beloved. The readings, designed to speak to a woman’s heart, truly are in short form and only take a few moments to read. How long you spend meditating and processing can take as long or as short as you like, depending on how the Spirit is moving those truths into your heart. The readings can be enjoyed by both new and more seasoned believers alike. One note to consider: the writings are in older English, so they may take some deeper concentration to truly receive and appreciate.
