Very interesting look inside the mind of a Schizophrenic teen. Recommend to readers looking to better understand people with mental illness.

The premise is interesting, and I like how the narrative styles gets us into Jason's head. (Note: I don't have schizophrenia, so I don't know how accurately the experience is portrayed.) That said, because there's a lot going on in Jason's head, the narrative feels jumbled, and some of the details distracting. DNFed.

This book was a little special to me because I too knew someone who called himself "Freak" in school and I thought this was going to be an average coming of age YA book. Instead I got an really intuitive look at mental illness and how it affects those around us. This was great!
