This was definitely a cute read. I really enjoyed every minute of it. It's one of those books that you can read over and over again without getting tired of it's context and story line. It's also super relatable.

Lily is the queen of lists and organisation with her five year plan for her life right on track until she loses both her job and fiance in one fell swoop. Having to move back to her parents she takes a job as housekeeper at Willow Tree Hall, not quite the events organiser job that she is used to but needs must, she starts to feel at home again until she meets Jack again, the one that got away and left her heartbroken...... will she be able to continue with him there?

Another heartwarming story in this series with lovely characters and a great atmosphere, just the sort of place you would want to live

A visit to Willow Tree Hall never fails to cheer me up and Alison Sherlock is once again on top form with the latest instalment of her fantastic series, Moonlight Kisses at Willow Tree Hall.

Lily Harper does not believe in spontaneity. Everything in her life is neat, ordered and tidy. With her five year plan something she rigidly adheres to, poor Lily only has to hear the phrase go with the flow to come out in hives! However, it looks like she might better start getting used to things being outside of her control because in a short space of time, she ends up losing her job and her fiancé! What is the events organiser going to do now? Lost, lonely and with no clue about what she is going to do now, Lily heads back home to her childhood village where she gets a job at Willow Tree Hall as a housekeeper which takes some adjustment as it’s far removed from her previous assignments, but at least she has a job and money coming in.

Her first task at the Hall is to get things ready for the summer fete and for the first time in a long while, Lily feels alive. She is in her element writing down lists and organising everything, however, little did Lily realise that working at the Hall will see her coming face to face with the man she had vowed never to forgive whom she has certainly never managed to forget: her ex Jack Carter, whom she hasn’t seen in ten years. Jack had left her heart-broken when he’d walked out of her life, taking pieces of her broken heart with him. She had thought she would never see him again, but fate clearly had made other plans for her. And worse, those old feelings she had tried so hard to bury had returned with a vengeance!

Fate – and Willow Tree Hall – has thrown the two former lovers back together again, but will they give their love another try? Or has too much water flown under the bridge for the two of them to ever take a leap of faith and a chance on a future together?

Feel-good, warm-hearted and wonderfully romantic, Moonlight Kisses at Willow Tree Hall is uplifting women’s fiction at its most gripping. A brilliantly written tale of starting over, second chances and new beginnings, Moonlight Kisses at Willow Tree Hall is a captivating and enjoyable read peppered with humour, emotion and
plenty of heart.

Jack and Lily are fantastic characters you cannot help but warm to. Brilliantly realised and richly drawn, you will grow to care for them as if they were your closest friends.

A perfect book to curl up with and lose oneself in, Moonlight Kisses at Willow Tree Hall is a romantic tale you are sure to enjoy!

I love this series however I did find the first third of this book to be a bit of a rocky start however I realise this conveys the awkwardness and pain in Lily and Jacks characters perfectly. Great to be back at the Hall with the Harris family. Entertaining read.

Thank you Netgalley.

For the first half of the book I wasn't really too keen. I struggled to get in to it, thought that the characters were a little weak and it just wasn't rocking my boat. BUT I persevered and after that first half I started to enjoy it. I got really invested with what would happen to the hall and to all the family and community around it. It wasn't the strongest love story but it was still pretty cute, and I'm glad Jack was able to figure out his family problems! I'd love to read a sequel.

This book was a brilliant read and one that is perfect to escape for a few hours and loose yourself.
Characters that fall out of the pages of the book and make you fell apart of the story, the setting is lovely and captured well with words.
A great read. that I would highly recommend.

I've been a fan of this series from the very beginning; each book draws me in further and this one is a cracker!

Lily and Jack were teenage sweethearts, but somehow their dreams of a life together never came to fruition. Now, more than a decade later and after lives lived elsewhere, they both  find themselves back in their home village of Cranley and bound together by Willow Tree Hall and the people there. How are they going to deal with being in such close proximity?

I adore the Willow Tree Hall series and everyone included in it! The more I read, the more real it becomes and I can easily believe that somewhere, nestled in the English countryside, this grand house and all the characters really exist. Alison Sherlock comes up with new and fresh ideas with each book, entirely different to what has gone before and yet it all manages to fuse together. I love them all but my absolute favourite has to be Rose - what a personality and a life she has had! Beautifully written, these are books which worm their way under my skin and I always have a warm feeling of anticipation when I have one on my tbr. I so hope there are more to follow! Expertly created, this fourth book is fully worth all five stars - and I do hope there is a fifth one in the pipeline!

First read by Alison Sherlock and I was unhappy. Great feel good vibrant read. Ok predictable story line but then that’s a good thing and we all need that at times!

Book 4, and the final one in the Willow Tree Hall series can be read as a standalone as Lily and Jack’s story is the focus. There are some familiar faces, for those of us who have read previous books in the series. and it’s good to reacquaint with those and see how their lives have moved on.

Lily and Jack, both have emotional baggage from their past to come to terms with, both individually and together. Their connection gives the story its slow-building sweet romance, with plenty of angst and anger to overcome.

The perilous state of the hall and the need to secure its future remains a perennial problem. Jack’s a catalyst in this, but friendship proves stronger than financial reward and makes you like him even more.

The authentically crafted, complex characters, and the delightful rural setting make this a lovely escapist story, perfect to read when you need a little me time.

I received a copy of this book from Aria via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

A cute second chance romance where the Willow Tree Hall and the author's words charmed the young sweethearts to fall in love with each other again years later. Or had the love never gone?

Lily had the worst day where she lost her job and her man and forced to go back home where she met with Jack, her first love. Both were in the same boat and it was heartening to see them find their way back.

My second book by author Alison Sherlock, this was a love story with a few social issues. The author's writing made the book charming without it being too heavy handed. The characters were varied and eccentric, but it was Aunt Rose who was teh most charming.

Humor provided by the great aunt had me chuckling. There was warmth and a sense of camaraderie between the characters. Emotions peeked in at the right places, Lily's penchant for lists had a place of its own in the story.

Overall, the story was entertaining, the bar raised by Aunt Rose. She was cool and fabulous

I’ve followed the Willow Tree Hall series since the beginning, and towards the beginning I loved every single one of them. Annie and Sam’s story will remain one of my favourites of the bunch, but I found that as the series has progressed, I have enjoyed them a bit less as well. Moonlight Kisses at Willow Tree Hall was a bit ‘meh’ for me, and I didn’t find that I particularly loved the book, nor did I dislike it. It was okay. I’ve truly enjoyed Alison Sherlock’s writing before, but I just found that this one didn’t hit the mark for me.

Characters
One of the main areas that presented an issue to me, was that I just didn’t like the main characters that much. I found the female lead Lily to be a bit annoying as a massive control freak. Sure, I admired how capable she was in terms of organisation and everything - I just didn’t connect with her and at times, although I felt sorry for her, I didn’t feel as though I ought to root for her. As for the male lead? Jack Carter was in the same vein as Lily, in that I just didn’t connect with him. He was sweet and was trying to do the right thing - as was Lily, for the record - he was jut a nice guy, and I wish there could have been more done with his character.
On a positive note - it was such great fun to see everyone back again. Sam, Annie, Will, Skye, Alex….everyone!

Writing and Plotting
In terms of pacing, the plot was fairly decent - didn’t move too fast or too slow, and there was enough intrigue and a bit of a “how are they going to save the hall” situation. The writing, at points however - was a bit simplistic, which isn’t necessarily an issue. It really just depends on personal preference and I didn’t particularly find that the writing was smooth the entire way through. But, Alison Sherlock wrote this book to be a nice, easy, chilled read (I’m guessing) and it works wonderfully as that.

Overall - a solid novel with some characters that are flawed (as we all are), set in the gorgeous setting of Willow Tree Hall. Worth a read if you’re looking for something light, fluffy and easy to read.

N.B: I was very kindly sent an ARC of this novel by the publisher and the author via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.

Moonlight Kisses at Willow Tree Hall by Alison Sherlock-Lily is the 4th book in the Willow Tree Hall Series, and my first book by this author. I found this book to be a sweet love story about second chances. If you love romances, you might want to give this book a try.
I reviewed a digital arc provided by NetGalley and the publisher. Thank you.

Moonlight Kisses at Willow Tree Hall (The Willow Tree Hall Series Book 4) by Alison Sherlock works as a great stand alone romance read.

Lily Harper is an event planner extraordinaire! Her attention to details is impeccable and a neat freak to add. She has her life in order until she loses her job, and this was not in her plans at all. Trying to get back on her feet, she goes back to her hometown village where se finds a not so ideal job at the Willow Tree Hall as a live-in housekeeper.

Coming back home also means the possibility of rekindling old flames. Enter Jack Carter, the heartbreaker and bad-boy. Will Lily find the heart to forgive him and move forward from a painful past?

One great thing about a hometown village that I fell in love with are the amusing cast of characters and very interesting side plots. As a city girl, there is nothing more exciting for me than to read about the English country side.

Alison Sherlock’s writing style is one that will keep your face plastered in a wide grin that kept me interested and those pages turning. I love that even the mundane of everyday country life, Sherlock was able to present in a very heartwarming and loving way. This was a great, easy and relaxing read for me that was lighthearted and simply amusing.

I highly recommend this book for a sweet romance, great characters, amazing dialogue and a funny read that will keep your heart fluttering.

This is a sweet story, a lighthearted read.

Part of series, you can read this as a stand-alone, however I get the feeling I would have enjoyed this more if I’d read the other 3 books in the series.

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for giving me the opportunity to read this book in exchange for my review.

The latest book in the series set around Willow Tree Hall.

Lily is back after losing her job in London. She does not expect to see Jack - he left her years ago, breaking her heart, and she hasn't seen him since. Will they have a second chance now they?

An enjoyable read.

When the story started, it was hard for me to connect with both Lily and Jack, having only met Lily briefly before and Jack not at all. And believe me, both of these characters had many walls for readers to break through, most tied to childhood anger and guilt – that made getting to know them difficult. But we’ll start with Lily, and realizing that her obsession with lists was simply a way to control the things around her in an effort to not be hurt again. Now, lists are all well and good UNTIL they take over your life – and Lily was simply moving from one list to the next, attempting to tick off items as she encountered them. Life had other plans, and with a cheating boyfriend and loss of her London job, she had no choice but to (very reluctantly) move back home with her parents and newly-installed in her old room, grandfather.

Jack was back in Cranley to meet with an old school-mate, Sam, heir apparent and grandson of the current Earl, Arthur. Jack works for a property developer in acquisitions, and his boss wants to acquire Willow Tree Hall to convert it into a luxury hotel and spa. Of course, Jack’s boss won’t take the no as the final answer, and is planning, with some political clout and a bit of underhandedness to force the sale for his own revenge. Jack takes this information back, and with his own self-doubts about being enough or needing people who will only leave him, again, he joins forces with the family to save the hall. Only one thing stops him- Lily, his teenage girlfriend that he’s never forgotten is working at the hall, temporarily, and she’s none to welcoming.

Oh the back and forth between these two was strong – from their own fears to Jack remembering a very different Lily, to Sam, his grandfather Arthur, aunt Rose and brother Will all remembering a strong willed but ultimately good-hearted man. We get to see how everyone’s lives have changed, and although there’s no mention of Tommy’s girl Eleanor (but plenty of Dylan) I can only hope that there’s a ‘where are they now” story to update us on the wonderful people and progress that has come to the hall since Sam and Annie have ‘taken charge” of the place. With Jack finally convincing Lily to speak with her own family about her guilt and obsession with control, to his gentle coaxing of Lily’s father to join the world again, as well as Lily pushing Jack toward his adoptive parents who grieve for the life he had and hurt because all they want to do is love him, even as he rebuffed most of their efforts, the story manages to pull several people and issues into focus, allowing the healing to start at Willow Tree Hall. With the outrageous Rose and the return of leather-clad aged rockers and an utterly OTT designer, the story has laughs, tears and plenty of heart – a solid installment in the series and sure to tickle readers who’ve wondered about the hall and Cranley since the last book.

I received an eArc copy of the title from the publisher via NetGalley for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review; all conclusions are my own responsibility.
