Listened to 1.5 chapters This is not a story for me. I have a personal loathing for stories where a real, historical author is given the ideas for their fiction by the character from their book, who is also a real person in the novel. I hate the way it diminishes creativity. This is very much a me thing, but if the blurb had mentioned Jane talking to Edgar Rice Burroughs, I wouldn't have requested this. I also find some of the attitudes, though accurate to the time, hard to stomach in 2020. |
