This the story of three sisters set in the town of Moonglow Cove , Texas. It sounds like a great place to visit. The sisters have not been together in 5 years and come together when the grandmother is sick. I didn't care for Madison at first, I couldn't understand how you could let a man come between your sisters. In the book you realize that it is way deeper than her sister kissing her fiance (how is a grade A JERK) Each of the sisters had to face and deal with the loss of their parents at a young age. I felt Shelley was the most fragile. I liked Gia's spunk and loved the guy next door Mike. One part of the story line I didn't care for or agree with, but other than that this was a good read.

"If it could happen to the Moonglow sisters, what hope is there for the rest of us?"

I've read novels from Lori Wilde, and this was another fantastic read! She never disappoints! I always look forward to her books. You won't be disappointed in getting this great summer read!

Set in Moonglow, Texas. Secrets kept and grudges held have followed each other. Madison, Shelly, and Gia were brought to their grandmother, Helen Chapman that they never knew. She stepped up and raised the girls as her own after their mother and father were killed in an avalanche in Colorado.
Helen owned Moonglow Bed and Breakfast.
Five long years have passed since the sisters have been in the same room together. But their called there after their grand is in the hospital.
Will the sisters put all the hate and pride behind them and reunite?

Madison, Shelley, and Gia Clark grew up under the care of their maternal grandmother who was the proprietor of The Moonglow Inn. They became known in their small town as The Moonglow Sisters. Each of them fell into roles in a family dynamic which was indicative of their birth order—Maddie was the oldest and the bossiest, always trying to control and mother her younger sisters. Shelley was impulsive and unpredictable, always in trouble and seeking attention. Gia, the baby, was the peacemaker. When a significant family incident splits them apart, their personality flaws become even more exaggerated.

For five years the sisters live independent lives until Grammy becomes gravely ill. They come home to be with her and the story follows their course through the resolution of their relationship differences. The beginning of the book had me intrigued. Each of the sisters was interesting even if a slight caricature to cement their rolls in the reader’s mind. The writing is good, and I was on board to see how the building crisis would resolve.

Unfortunately, too many significant people showed up way too conveniently and out of the blue. They showed up at the beach, in a liquor store, and right next door. At least the one next door made sense, but one even comes from another country with no forewarning. We need to resolve this issue and boom! The person needed magically appears. Once I start rolling my eyes, it’s hard to bring me back. I give Wilde credit for bringing it back around in the end, I just disagree with her method in the middle. I had issues. Is it a good read? Yes, yes it is. Do I wish Wilde could have found another way for the sisters to confront their individual past choices? Yes, yes I do.

The book ends with a tidy bow that leaves the reader satisfied, if a little annoyed in the journey. Would I still recommend it? Yes. I think it’s a good story of family and love.

My Rating: C+ Liked It, but I had issues

The Moonglow Sisters by Lori Wilde is a wonderful story about sisters coming together after several years. The three sisters, Gia, Maddie and Shelley, come together at the Moonglow Inn when they find out their grandmother has cancer and is undergoing brain surgery. The Moonglow Inn has been in their family for years. This book has a little bit of everything. Each sister has their own issues, plus there is also a sweet romance and I found myself laughing out loud several times. I grew up with three older brothers, and I always wanted a sister. If you enjoy family stories, I would suggest you give this book a try, I highly recommend it. I'm looking forward to reading more books by this author.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I've always loved Lori Wilde's cowboy romances and had high expectations for The Moonglow Sisters. This book is more Women's Literature than vs. Wilde's normal genre. She has made the transition with grace and elegance. This story of women trying to repair the ripped basis of their family is engaging and emotionally charged as falsehoods and truths are brought to light.
I loved and connected with every single character in the story and cheered as each came into their own. Wilde has shown the heartache of a family torn apart, the struggles and the joys and love that is possible when members come together for the good of the family. The Moonglow Sisters is a beautifully written book.

The Moonglow Sisters by Lori Wilde, set in Moonglow Texas, was the perfect book to read as I prepare to travel to Texas. This book is both as light as a summer breeze and as heavy as the dense humidity that can often come with summer, especially in Texas! Gia, Shelly, and Madison reunite to love and pray and wish their grandma back to health after a serious diagnosis. After five years spent apart and barely speaking following a wedding day debacle and serious sisterly rift, they must find a way to work together, to forgive, and to heal. To come full circle. Secrets long kept bubble to the surface and are revealed and only then can the sisters forgive each other and rebuild their relationship with one another and with significant others in their lives. Even Grandma has a special story, a long-held secret that once the truth is known finally sets her free and allows her to live her final days with the one true love of her life. This book definitely shows how we should never assume that we know what someone else is going through.

The Moonglow Sisters had everything and more that I was looking for. Sisters that are reunited after a falling out five years ago, a fake engagement and a small town feeling. Their grandma, who is now sick, had one wish left and that was for the sisters to be reunited and finish the wedding quilt. Each of the sisters are so different but can they put aside their differences this one summer.

This was a hard book to put down. I loved each of the sisters. Loved the small town, how everyone comes together to help the sisters getting the B&B back up and running. Loved the relationship of Gia and Mike. A wonderful book that I highly recommend.

I am a sucker for sister stories and other than being a bit too long this was a perfect Sunday read. Three sister who grew up picking Moonglow pears, blasting music from their boom box and singing “Who Let the Dogs Out”, giggling, laughing, enjoying their sisterliness (is that even a word?)

Madison, the eldest, “is the solid anchor on the ground”, Shelly, the middle daughter who has been MIA for the past five years, “is the high-flying kite” and Gia, the baby of the family “is the string that keeps the two connected.” A wedding parted the sisters and a tragedy pulls them back to their family home in Moonglow Cove, Texas. They are going to have to decide if they can put their pride, hurt, and raw emotions in a box with the lid screwed down so they can work together and help their grandmother who is gravely ill.

Lots of emotions running wild and turning rational women into screaming banshees. Lots of harsh words being flung and landing hard. So much forgiving is required but it is such a slippery slope. Two steps forward, three back, half truths, partial truths, mistakes, misjudgments, all the things that often define family dynamics. Did I mention the hunk living next door? A definite positive like it a lot element.

First and foremost I have to say that creativeness abounds in this book. When you start reading you instantly get my opening comment. THE MOON GLOW SISTERS is the newest art piece created by Lori Wilde who is an unabashedly master artist when it comes to character development. The characters in THE MOON GLOW SISTERS will at times take you aback and other times make you laugh aloud. Creative use of the art of quilting and sewing provides the opening remark of each chapter, a kind of introduction to that chapter. And when you realize Lori Wilde is using that to describe the sisters and their relationship you know you’ve met genius.

The Moonglow sisters are amass with creativity in their play as children and now as adult women. Brought up by Grammy and her best friend after the death of their parents the three sisters led an almost idyllic life at the beach. Grammy let the girls fly like the wind. She gave them freedom to follow their dreams. And it was those dreams that in part caused these inseparable siblings to fracture.

You might say the undercurrent theme is secrets but I would like to point out a parallel one. That of bridges. Actually building bridges. Not sure why that popped into my head but it is there in THE MOON GLOW SISTERS. The need to construct or in this case rebuild bridges to reconnect with the people that should be most important in your life. The Clark sisters, who were known as the Moonglow sisters did an admiral job of supporting each other when their parents suddenly died and found themselves in the custody of a grandmother they thought was dead. Their mother never spoke of her mother. Their chasm was too great. They never got the chance to rebuild their bridge and reconnect.

But the three sisters had a lovely childhood with their Grammy. With one brutal thoughtless moment their closeness shattered. And now many years later they all have a choice to make. A conscious decision to mend fences or once again go their separate ways. Each sister is so much better if that isn’t the case. They need each other. And Grammy is doing all she can to direct that outcome.

Pride is often at the center of personal disputes and in THE MOON GLOW SISTERS it is quite evident. The three sisters Maddie, Shelley and Gia have decidedly different personalities. And when chaos prevailed at the Clark home each went their own way. Maddie has a successful career as a television chef with her own show. Gia has developed her love of kites into a creatively rewarding means of support. And then there is Shelley who has been MIA for many years. All three are going to have to face each other and come to grips with the events that splintered their relationship.

So it may seem as if I am being rather vague with the storyline of THE MOON GLOW SISTERS by Lori Wilde. And that is on purpose. Lori Wilde has once again created a cast of characters that will capture your attention and a place in your heart. THE MOON GLOW SISTERS is a difficult book to put down. So be prepared.

Thank you to Netgalley for my copy of this lovely story. Such a fun, quick read, that is set in the sweetest town. Sisters are the center of this story, with a grandmother who is the center of it all. Mistakes are made, misunderstandings happen time is lost and it seems as if there is no happy ending to be found. Lori Wilde pulls together the dynamics of sisters, family and a small town in such a great way. This was a 4 star read for me and I would highly recommend it.

This book was just ok for me. I enjoyed it at first but after a while it just drug on and on. I grew very tired of hearing about the Moonglow sisters and their problems. It would have made an interesting short story. This book confirms things are best in moderation.

The Moonglow Sisters had a lot of potential and at times, it was very good. Then the story would just become unbelievable and corny. I loved the interaction between Gia and Mike though the romance was just a bit weird.
This would make for a good beach read.
A story about sisters, forgiveness, a little romance and lots of family drama.
Thank you to NetGallery, the publisher and author for the opportunity to read and give my honest review about this book.

A great story of the resilience of love. It doesn't matter the type of love, in this case familial, just know this book describes it perfectly. You can feel the hurt and angst the siblings and their grandmother have suffered through the author's writing style.

You can't help but cheer for Maddie, Gia, and Shelley as they work through their feeliings and misconception about the events of the past that have haunted them. For the past 5 years.

A great story of family, friends and forgiveness that I recommend you read.

I received a free ARC eBook from Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest opinion.

The Moonglow Sisters
Lori Wilde

It’s Texas, Moonglow Cove, Texas. Madison, Shelly and Gia Clark are sisters that were born here. Their parents died in an avalanche while skiing in Colorado leaving the girls to be raised by their grandmother, Helen Chapman. Helen is the owner of the Moonglow Bed and Breakfast. She and her friend, Darynda Fox have worked together for years managing the business. When the girls lost their parents, a social worker brought them to Texas to reside with their Grammy. She took them in with love and raised them as her own.
It has been 5 years since the girls lost touch with each other. It was the day of Maddy’s wedding when their lives imploded. Shelly didn’t want her to marry the great looking Raoul. She knew what a cheater he was. She knew he would destroy her older sister, so right before the wedding she committed an unforgivable act.
Now, Madison has moved to New York working hard to become a home tv show star. Shelly disappeared and the only one who knows of her whereabouts is Grammy. Gia had moved on to college, then back to Moonglow Cove when she was given a scholarship to attend school in Japan learning to design and build kites. They were beautiful, precise, and artistic. She had learned from the master. When she returned from Japan she worked hard at opening her kiosk on the bay.
She’d come home for lunch with Grammy, although no one was in the house but the cat, Pyewacket. There was a letter on the table addressed to Gia. Opening it destroyed her happy spirits. Grammy had left word that she was entering the hospital for surgery. She explained that what she wanted and needed was for Gia to contact her sisters and bring them home. The cancer that had developed in her brain. Darynda was with her. Gia needed her to follow the instructions in the letter and then she should come wait until the long surgery was over.
Contacting Maddy was easy. Gia and she texted and spoke often. It was the end of the show’s season and Maddy told her she would be home in the evening. Gia used Grammy’s contact for Shelly hoping that word would get to her and bring her home.
This incredible story of a family torn apart continues with the girls reuniting with hopes and prayers for their dear Grammy. It was very well written and I praise the author, Lori Wilde for how well she brought the reader into the family circle. I found it difficult to put this novel down. I was so absorbed in this little town and all of its people that loved and cared for one another.
I had read only one book by Ms. Wilde prior to the Moonglow Sisters. The plot was easy to read however the way she brought the lives of the main characters back together was beguiling. I highly recommend this book to Lori Wilde fans as well as those readers who are new to this author. I was a bit sad the book ended and hope that Moonglow Cove will continue on in a series.
The Moonglow Sisters by Lori Wilde will be published on March 3, 2020 by William Morrow of Harper Collins Publishing. I appreciate their providing me with the Uncorrected Proof to read and review. I look forward to reading more fiction by Lori Wilde. This was truly a warm, inspiring novel.

Ms. Wilde pens a study of dysfunctional sisters overcoming the past and making a brighter future.
All three fell into categories upon their parents death.
Maddie, the oldest was under the most influence from their mother, who had issues of her own, and put the onus on Maddie to be responsible for everything.
Shelley, the middle one felt invisible and acted out accordingly, and Gia the youngest was more outgoing and slid into the peacemaker role.
Well thought out, she gives us insight to them all and their loving grandmother, who raised them, and the reasons for their reactions.
All three found love eventually and their grandmother finds peace, after finding out her shameful secret was neither shameful or secret.
An unbiased telling of all sides, it is an engrossing tale.
I requested and received a NetGalley Arc to peruse and recommend it.

This book is perfect for days when the whole world seems like a hot mess and you just want to veg out with characters who have some layers, are learning to heal and come together other as sisters, and who find "happily ever after" love along the way. And if the final pages seem rushed and include sappiness such as "She was here now, with the man she loved, and everything was absolutely perfect...", well, good on them!

I enjoyed this nice break from reality for a couple of evenings. I may have even shed a few tears for the girls. ;)
My thanks to the publisher and author, who allowed me to read this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion. #NetGalley #TheMoonglowSisters
