I recieved a free copy from netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
I really enjoyed this book.
Brice wakes up naked in bed with a woman only to find out he has been tricked into marriage. Sarah grew up in a convent when her parents died and now finds herself married to a Baron.
I liked Brice and Sarah's need to help the lives of children. I loved this unfolding relationship, however this book was definitely easily resolved of they had just had an honest conversation.
Since both wanted a real marriage pretty quickly.
I especially liked Brice becoming enamored and dumbfounded by the confident woman his wife became.

A fun historical romance with some fun elements I wasn’t expecting. An innocent reading the karma sutra, hilarious! I enjoyed this book.

I appreciate the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book in exchange for my unbiased review and honest opinion.

Sarah and Brice's story in A Rake's Rebellion kept me at the end of my seat! I was rooting for Sarah the whole time and when she finally got what she wanted, I was celebrating with her! A very entertaining novel for sure and and an author I 'd love to continue to look forward! I recommend A Rake's Rebellion to all readers of romance!

The book sounded like a good story, but I could not get into the book. It started out good but then the pace slowed down and became hard for me to stay focused.

After a night of revelry and over-imbibing, Brice, Lord Barclay, becomes stone cold sober in moments, after finding the drab, American, Miss Sarah Vincent in his bed informing him she is his wife.

Although Brice will save her reputation by remaining married after her cousins set up this scheme, he will go on with life as usual. Only his wife isn't as drab as he suspected.

Sarah has a hard time acclimating to her new role and she finds Brice's friends are willing to let her be herself. Her newly discovered naughty book further leads her to want more than the passionless life Brice has promised her.

This was a fair story but missing some key elements to make it, well, more. First, I expected that there would be more from the dubious cousins but there wasn't. The naughty book led to only one mi!d interaction between the couple at the very end of the story. It was disappointing that it wouldn't have taken much to raise the bar in this story.

Hmmm... I was waiting for more plot and development from this book. Instead it ended to be just another book with predictable storyline and not so interesting main leads. Surprisingly this was just ok book for me.

Wow this book was just so good and so easy to get lost in. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and I just didn't want it to end. I just couldn't get enough of these wonderful characters and I just loved getting to see their journey. I will most definitely be reading more stories from this wonderful author.

This a new to me author and the book was okay. Brice wakes up to fond himself newly married to Sarah. Sarah is right out of the convent and finds she has to navigate a different way of life. It had its moments but it wasn't for me. I skimmed through most of it. a good read, with potential. It happens to be 3rd in the series. 3 stars...

Unfortunately, I will not be able to review this book to my usual standards. This is simply due to the fact that I have found that I have an incompatibility issue with historical romances. I find it difficult to become absorbed in them and don't enjoy them; which I feel would negatively impact my review, which I think is unfair to both the publisher and the author. I take pride in doing reviews that I'm proud of, and reviewing books I have enjoyed and am passionate about. I hope you can accept my apologies! This is definitely a "it's not you, it's me" scenario. Thank you regardless for allowing me to access an early copy of this fabulous book.

I will alter this review if I come to read the book in future.

After a night of debauchery, Lord Barclay wakes up to find a woman in his bed. That's not unusual, but this one is fully clothed. When she tells him they are married, he is instantly cold sober and looking for a way out. Miss Sarah Vincent, an orphan raised in an American convent, didn’t ask for this marriage. She’ll be damned if it’s in name only. But seducing a man? How ever will she do that?! Good thing her friend lent her a copy of The Kama Sutra. Brice starts to wonder what has come over his young wife. She’s suddenly taking charge of him, and their house, and no longer the timid woman he assumed her to be.
I really tried to like this book, but I just didn’t. I don’t really know why, but the characters didn’t click for me.

Lovely and hot, just what I love in love stories. This novel was an enjoyable read. I enjoyed the characters and the plot.

I tried to like this book but I found it incredibly boring. The plot went nowhere. I was waiting for interaction between the main characters but it never really happened.

Can a rebellious rake that abhors marriage come to terms with being duped into marrying an orphan fro American that was raised in an convent? Sarah was introduced in to English society with an aunt and uncle who trick her in to a marriage with a notorious rake. The have a rocky start to say the least. Through many trials and setbacks they begin to care for one another, but neither know how to express their feelings. Courtesans and orphans guide them on their journey. This is an excellent read. This is definitely a book that I will read again int he future.

Brice, Lord Barclay, isn't really surprised to wake up to a woman in his bed, but he's truly shocked to learn that she is, in fact, his wife. Sarah Vincent is an orphan raised in an American convent and has virtually no knowledge of English high society or men. But since she and Brice have been tricked into a marriage with no way to annul it without leaving her thoroughly ruined, she's determined to make it a real one. Now she just has to learn how to seduce her new husband. After witnessing the cool hostility that existed between his parents, Brice wanted no part of marriage, but with his new wife gaining confidence every day he's becoming more and more attracted to her Too bad they made an agreement to stay out of each other's way and have a marriage in name only.

I really did enjoy the first half of this book and the premise of them both being tricked into marriage was intriguing. But the lack of communication really began to wear on my nerves about halfway through. Brice was jealous and hypocritical, expecting accountings of Sarah's time while expecting to give none for his own. For her part, Sarah's naivete, while understandable given her time in a convent, got rather trying and I expected more from her given her rapidly developing confidence. I hated that she allowed herself to be cowed by Brice. I began to lose my patience with these two and found some of the narrative to be a bit repetitive, with reiterations of scenes that had occurred in previous chapters as if they had occurred in a previous book and not just a few pages back.

I would've liked to see a bit more dialogue between Brice and Sarah when they did both come to their senses, but nonetheless, this was a good read.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This book was a sensual read yet I thought with how much sex was referenced more of it was going to happen in the book. The sexual tension was palpable between the main characters and it made me anticipate when they were finally going to give in to their desire for one another. I also liked how the author put a few things in that made me wonder which way she was going to go with the plot.

A Rake’s Rebellion ⭐️⭐️⭐️

After a night of debauchery, Lord Barclay wakes up to find a woman in his bed. That's not unusual, but this one is fully clothed. When she tells him they are married, he is instantly cold sober and looking for a way out.

Miss Sarah Vincent, an orphan raised in an American convent, didn’t ask for this marriage. She’ll be damned if it’s in name only. But seducing a man? How ever will she do that?! Good thing her friend lent her a copy of The Kama Sutra….

Brice starts to wonder what has come over his young wife. She’s suddenly taking charge of him, and their house, and no longer the timid woman he assumed her to be.

Despite his aversion to this marriage he’s starting to want his wife…in every way possible.

This is the third book in the series that can be read as a stand alone. You meet the characters from the previous books who play into the current story line with ease.

This was a very slow read during the first 80% of the book, but once it took off it wrapped up quickly. While I enjoyed reading it I often became bored with the repetition and easily walked away to do something else. Definitely not a page turner, but still worth the read if you have the patience.

I had a hard time believing that a convent raised woman who is a virgin bride/wife was gifted and reading the Kama Sutra. The “rake” husband refuses to bed his wife yet is jealous of his male friends who befriend the virgin bride. Meanwhile the “fox” has nearly free access to the hen...

A Rake's Rebellion is the third stand alone in "Rakes Trilogy. I thought this worked fairly well as a stand alone book. For the most part, I liked the book. I really loved the way Sarah came out of her shell and became a beautiful confident woman. That was a pleasure to see. I also liked Brice and his transformation from Rake to husband. I also loved the friendship that developed between Sarah and Caroline.

What I didn't love was the romance. There was just no heat between the couple I thought the Kama Sutra that is given to Sarah would play more of a role in her seducing her reluctant husband. But, she never did. They don't even get intimate until 80% of the way into the book. It was just too slow of a romance for me. I would have liked more of them together. Despite the tepid romance, it is an enjoyable story overall because the characters were interesting. Give it a shot.

First of all, the title of the book I downloaded was “The Rake’s Revenge’ but I’m pretty sure I read ARake’s Rebellion. Brice and Sarah were tricked into marriage, and the story follows the relationship of two strangers who invariably fall in love. I enjoyed the ending of the book, but found myself skipping parts os it to get there. 3 stars.

A pretty good historical romance by Ms. Breeding. I enjoyed the romance and the characters were so well-developed.

Sarah's life thus far has been the staid existence of a young lady raised by nuns. She has no real experience in the world of the ton. She has become Brice's bride while he is almost unconscious. They were tricked into believing they were signing a copy of someone else marriage license as witnesses.
Now the bride is an innocent and the Groom is an unwilling rake who despite his aversion to this marriage, is starting to want his wife in every way possible.
How will Sarah become the seductress that she wishes. Good thing her friend lent her a copy of The Kama Sutra. Will this be her ticket to seducing her new husband?
I really liked this book. It isn't my first read by this author but I believe it is my favorite so far.
This is a book filled with intrigue and an innocent trying to entice her unwilling husband to make their marriage real.
I gave this book 4.35 of 5.0 stars for plot and characterization.
I received a complimentary ARC to read from the publisher via NetGalley.
This in no way affected my opinion of this title. I read and left a voluntary review of this book and all thoughts are my own.
