Brilliant, this is a book that leaves me thinking about the characters, wanting to read that next chapter, eager to see what happens next. The building heat of romance leaves you feeling warm inside. The characters are likeable and intriguing. I really liked this book with a city boy and country girl, two people that you would not think a spark would ignite, yet it did. Highly recommend this book.

Deems Lambert is checking on his younger sister Jan before their mother strokes out. He hadn’t seen in months and rarely called her. He hardly knew what was going on in her life. She kept busy with college and he with work. He had helped her move her few possessions. But he hadn’t taken the time to see her place since. Two years of college under her belt and Jan hadn’t picked a major and had no plans for the future. Jan was ten years younger than Deems. Deems pays her bills. Deems went to her apartment and met Jan’s roommate Lauren and was very attracted to her. Lauren had a presence about her that Deems couldn’t understand. Deems asked if Lauren was seeing anyone and jan said no she won’t either her fiance really burned her big time. She won’t even look at another man. Lauren had felt an electrical jolt as did Deems when their hands touched. Jan had a boyfriend named Erik. A loser. Jan came back from vacation with erik that she paid for and told Lauren Erik was moving in. Lauren couldn’t wait until it was time for her to leave. Erik lied and said Lauren hit on him and Jan kicked her out. Deems called her and asked her to have dinner with him and she agreed.
I had mixed feelings on this book. It dragged for me. I liked Deems and Lauren and how they interacted. I liked Deems was so willing to help Lauren. Of course I couldn’t stand Erik and I was glad that lauren punched him. I had a hard time keeping my attention on this story. But I did enjoy this story in the end it just took me a while to read it which isn't normal for me. I am sure others will really like it. So as you can see I had mixed feelings on this book.
