I pretty much begged for Mack’s book after reading book one, and it didn’t disappoint! This one dealt with some serious issues (really well), but there was also fun, romance, and lots of friendship and love thrown in! Just a great book!

Liv is a pastry chef at the hottest restaurant in town. Too bad Royce, the beloved celebrity owner, is actually a jerk, but the industry wisdom is that if you can survive working for him, you can write your own ticket to a dream job. Liv is tough and independent, so she sticks it out, until one night she makes an expensive mistake in front of her brother-in-law's friend.

Braden Mack feels bad that he inadvertently got Liv fired, so he tries to make it up to her with a new job, but she refuses to work for him. There's clearly more going on than she will tell him, so Braden enlists the help of the Bromance Book Club members, who covertly read romance novels to help them in their own lives and relationships. Braden has a reputation as a playboy, but is he secretly a romantic?

This was a surprisingly relevant story involving #metoo (I won't give anything away). Liv and Braden each have a heavy emotional journey, but the story has delicious moments of levity, too. I liked this one better than the first book in the series. It felt more authentic when the men discussed feminism and contemporary issues.

Eh, this was not quite as good as the first (The Bromance Book Club). A little too much and a little not enough all at the same time.

Some readers may be put off by the language; there are a ton of f-bombs in here. I don't remember the dialogue in the first book being quite so overpowered by them. I don't know how realistic it is; I don't know anyone who actually talks that way.

And while I appreciate that the whole cadre of guys are real characters and, at least some of them, will get their own books, the fart jokes got a little monotonous.

I appreciated that the tension between the leads was based on some pretty real-world-type stressors. It made the story relatable and believable. But it also made the entire situation a little more frustrating. Like, these are actual problems that people face, so it was more annoying than usual that the characters weren't honest with each other sooner.

Still a solid 3 stars. While this installment can be read on its own, readers will get more out of it if they start with the first book. The series is recommended for mid- to large public libraries.

Undercover Bromance by Lyssa Kay Adams is more than just a romance novel. The novel is an exploration of self, friendship, patriarchy, love, and so many other life issues and experiences written into this gem of a book. If you are looking for a conventional/unconventional romance novel—look no further than Undercover Bromance by Lyssa Kay Adams. This novel has everything from an all-male romance novel book club and quirky side characters to an attack rooster named Randy. The main characters are complex and relatable. The pacing is perfect. The romance is swoony. Undercover Bromance, the second novel in the series by Lyssa Kay Adams is winner.

Braden Mack is the swooniest man on earth. He may try a bit hard at times to impress women, but he really doesn't need to. He's a genuine, sweet, loyal man, and oh how I loved this book!!

Liv is one strong woman and will take no shit from anyone, not Mack or her sleazy reality tv famous chef ex-boss. She's fired (partly Mack's fault), and she sees her boss sexually harassing another employee and makes it her mission to expose him for who he really is.

Mack feels horrible about what happened with Liv and wants to help. He sorta "pushes" himself on Liv and offers to help with her plight because, well - he's a good guy and wants to "out" Royce too.  During their time together it becomes more than obvious that these two were meant to be together, they don't see if at first but they are a match made in heaven.  It's not an easy road by any mean but they say it's the journey that counts right?

We get to see the cast of characters that we fell in love with in The Bromance Book Club once again, and they do not disappoint. I found myself literally laughing out loud while reading their antics, and Lyssa Kay Adams is on my must-read for romantic comedies now. She has perfect timing, beautiful, witty writing that kept me reading for way longer than I probably should have. I read this book in one day (just like the first one) because I was hooked!

I raved about the first book in this series and couldn't wait to start reading this one. The premise of a Bromance book club helping alpha males learn how to appreciate their women is priceless. This story is about Mack and his inability to find real love because he's searching for perfection. Liz is anything but perfect. She's strong, authentic, and snarky as needed. When Mack and Liz interact sparks fly as they argue about everything, but it's only a matter of time before the sparks become sexual. I especially loved the underlying story line about sexual harassment and how pervasive it still is. When the men of the book club join Liz and her friends to take down a sexual predator I cheered. I highly recommend this book.

Stop what you’re doing & add this book to your to be read list! If you haven’t read the first (Bromance Book Club), get on that one now. Then make sure you preorder the next. I can’t get enough of these books!

This story follows a “romantic suspense” plot that lines up with the guys’ Bromance book club. We met Liv & Mack in the first book & now it’s their turn to take center stage. Holy banter!!! Their hate-to-love relationship was off the charts steam! I could read their witty banter back & forth all day. As much as they fought, you knew there’d be fireworks once they eventually succumbed to their desires.

The underlying story definitely needs some warning, since it addresses sexual harassment & abuse. I feel that the author shed serious light on a subject that definitely needs more attention. Her voice, especially transcribed through Mack & the guys, & the sexist treatment of women was inspiring. I hope more men (& women) speak up for the injustices that are still going on, unfortunately.

This was a five star read for so many reasons! It packs all the humor, heart, suspense, & swoons! I hope there’s more to come in this fictional world because I’m not quite ready to close the chapter on this book club.

Thank you Berkley Romance for the early copy to read!
