I felt that this book started out with an interesting premise but as it went on, it began to wander into the land of the implausible. Ending was satisfying in that the mystery was solved in a solid way.

The premise of this novel is fascinating and it starts off really strong. However, it devolves a third of the way into it, and I found myself longing to skip ahead to find out what happens without having to slog through the middle of the book. The end is solid, but I didn’t really connect with the writing style or the characters.

I thought this was going in a different direction and in the end the actual story behind the mystery was a little underwhelming. But it did keep me guessing and I was engaged with the story.

Sophie Hannah hooks the reader right away with a crazy, implausible scenario. I was glad the mystery was solved with a non-supernatural (albeit somewhat convoluted and implausible) solution.

Beth, like most of us, has a broken friendship in her past, and she's been lacking closure on the relationship for 12 years. What happened between her and Flora? Beth happens to be in the neighborhood of Flora's new address to take her teenage son to a football game. When she drives by the house, she sees someone who looks and sounds like Flora, but the children, who should be teens by now, are still 5 and 3, and Beth is certain she hears Beth call them by Flora's older kids' names - has time reversed? What is going on? Further research online seems to reveal that Flora's family has moved to America, so why does Beth keep seeing Flora in England? And where is her third child?

Sophie Hannah continues to weave fascinating, if not particularly likely, scenarios in this fun thriller. Will you question the motivations of practically everyone in this book? Probably. But it's a page-turner, and a quick read. Hannah's fans will not be (too) disappointed, unless they, like myself, are really hoping to see some Spilsbury Police characters crop up (they don't).

This book investigates what people are willing to do for money, power, and love, and what people will do to maintain a "perfect" life.

I was looking forward to this book after reading the plot premise, but I found it unrealistic, disappointing and too contrived.

Perfect Little Children is the story of Beth and her friendship with Flora. Beth hasn't spoken to Flora in 12 years and is surprised to see her with her two children, who appear to be the exact same age as when she last saw them.
I was looking forward to reading this book, as I love a good psychological suspense novel. Unfortunately for me this book just did not deliver. I made myself finish the book, but I found the ending underwhelming. The whole story just felt a little disjointed and confusing.

i have read most of Sophie Hannah's books and have to say that this is the best one yet. The book was well written and a quick read for me. It kept me guessing right up until the very end. Thank you for the advanced copy. I will be recommending this one for sure!

The first few pages of this book really reeled me in. A mystery involving precious little children , best friends who've had a falling out , all rolled into a novel written by a good writer? I was all in. Now, I don't know if it was just me , but I was so anxious to figure out what was going on but it seems like the length of the book and the complicated plot made me lose steam about 2/3 through.

I do enjoy the author's writing style , but the dialogue felt stilted and sometimes it was just too much of it. For me, that detracted from the story overall . Maybe I was just too impatient to find out what happened , but I do look forward to reading more of this authors books in the future .

Beth can’t help but drive by her old friend, Flora’s house after dropping her son off for a sporting event. Beth hasn’t seen her old friend for over a decade, but as she watches from outside Flora’s house, she’s shocked to see Flora call to her two children. Twelve tears ago they were 3 and five, but today they don’t look a day older. How is this possible? Hannah specializes in the strange and twisted and this story is no different. Readers may guess what’s happening, but that doesn’t make it any less creepy
