This was a quick, sweet read. The writing was okay, but I was a little confused on the MCs backstory. They are former friends that had a falling out, but it was never really stated when that point happened. They talk about something that happened when they were older together, but then something else is mentioned that they don't know about each other. Also, I'm not sure how in a town so small that everyone knows everyone else's business, that Harper didn't know the backstory as to why Rafferty was so closed off. That was a major thing and I'm sure it would have been talked about. It made it weird for me as a reader. I didn't have a problem with them together, but the HEA happens VERY easily. Everything is resolved in just a few pages. This is a clean book, with zero steam. Not really my thing, but if that's what you're looking for, this one is for you. All in all, a sweet book with a good HEA.

Wow this book was just so good and so easy to get lost in. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and I just didn't want it to end. I just couldn't get enough of these wonderful characters and I just loved getting to see their journey. I will most definitely be reading more stories from this wonderful author.

Okay, so this started out cute enough. I was all for the small town vibes and the hate/sexual tension between Rafferty and Harper. Unfortunately, the more I read, the more problematic this book became for me. The flow of the story was stilted. I felt there were situations that should have been delved into but which only had touched the surface. Other situations were shoved in the reader's face to the point of nauseum. We get that she was abandoned, we get that he was hurt in the past. It does not bear repeating in almost every chapter. The conflict in this story was juvenile that it made me cringe at times. Also the continuity of the story made no sense at times. Harper would say that she let Rafferty know how she felt by inviting him in and then on the same page she says that they are only friends and she feels nothing for him...huh? And then the ending was so rushed. I just didn't gel with this at all.

Harper Bailey and Rafferty Bradford were once great friends but something happened and now they are more like enemies. Rafferty was the ultimate playboy bachelor who didn't believe in happy ever after endings for himself when it came to romance. Harper wanted the forever love along with the white picket fence. She had feelings for Rafferty but could never acknowledge them because he was never going to be part of her future.

When Rafferty took a dare to prove that he could make a commitment, it put it right in the path of Harper because he was going to play the part of Prince Charming to her Cinderella at her family's fairy tale amusement park. Would that help them both to realize that they could both have forever love or would it drive the wedge deeper between them? Between Rafferty's meddlesome matchmaker grandma and others in the small town who were convinced that the two belonged together, could they deny the feelings that were creeping in?

This was a charming modern day love story with fairy tale elements. There was some sexual innuendo but no sex scenes and no foul language to speak of. The story was well developed and the secondary characters were wonderful. I especially loved Jean, the meddlesome grandma who was determined to seem Harper and Rafferty happy in the end.

I was given an arc copy of this book and I willingly offer my honest review.

The Firefighter's Cinderella is such a fun little book about two characters that have a ton of chemistry, some misunderstandings and a happily ever after. I read this in one sitting , I absolutely loved the characters of the Mom and Grandma and was always so happy when they would reappear.

I am not sure if this is part of a series, I hope so because I would love to know more.

Harper is trying to keep things afloat for the family business for her sister, while she is off repairing herself. Rafferty is a player and Harper's old "stuck like glue" pal. This was a very easy, quick read. It was funny at times, and sad at times.

It wasn't my type of story. I felt like Rafferty wasn't really reformed. He spent the majority of the book talking about how he didn't want commitment, how Harper wasn't his type, etc etc etc. Just grated on me.

I think Harper should have ditched Rafferty and found another dude, cause I hated him! He was not likeable at all.

I will give this book 3/5 stars though, because I like the writing and the atmosphere Sonya created.

A cute and funny romance that grabbed my attention from the first page.

For me this story was not as good and funny as I had hoped for unfortunately!

A firefighter and a woman who helps her mother tend to their family amusement park while her mother is at a retreat, two childhood friends now enemies are forced to work together to save the amusement park and set up the play of “Cinderella”. She needs a Prince Charming and he volunteers. And drama ensues!

Most of the time both main characters annoyed me, because they were both way to stubborn to admit their faults and how they felt about each other and I had difficulties feeling their chemistry. I loved Raffertys grandmother at times but she also at times became too much in her way of pushing these two together. She meddled too much along with others in his family and their friends.

Some scenes were funny and I liked the ending.

*REVIEW* 🌟🌟🌟🌟
The Firefighter's Cinderella is an adorable retelling of the classic story. Rafferty and Harper are meant to be, but they don't know this yet. They were once possibly something but went separate ways. Now, their lives intersect once again, and as they help each other, it's obvious they are not over. This story is predictable but still entertaining and sweet and charming. The characters are likeable and engaging. This is a fast easy read that fans of chicklit and romcoms are sure to love.

This is a “sweet and clean” story with no on page sex and no harsh cursing. Although this is part of a larger series, you do not have to read those books to enjoy this one. That said, if you're the kind of reader who doesn't like spoilers about previous couples in the series, you should definitely start at the beginning because this story revisits a few of them.

The premise of this story was so cute and so fun that I found myself sucked in to it from the first moment that Harper hot-messed all over the place. Rafferty took a little more time for me to warm up to, but once we learned his full story, I found myself loving him and rooting for him to figure his “stuff” out and found his happily ever after with Harper.

Grandma Jean is one of the best parts of this series. I just adored her sharp tongue and her sage, life-changing advice (I laughed out loud) and her loving meddling. I also loved the updates about previous couples. Casey and Kent, to be specific. I cannot wait for Grayson Bradford to find his happily ever after.

I would recommend this story to anyone who enjoys a sweet, slow burn romance between two characters who just belong together from start to finish.

The H in this book took way to long to redeem himself. The back story didn't make a whole bunch of sense thus making the conflict in the story very weak. In fact, the h's reaction to the "bad event" didn't make a much sense either. The arguing between the two was annoying. Overall, this story disappointed me. *I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and this is my voluntary and honest review.

THE FIREFIGHTER’S CINDERELLA is an engaging quick romance, one that I ended up rather torn on in my thoughts about it. I liked a lot about this small town in Georgia, much like most small-towns everyone’s known you practically from birth and knows all of your business as well. It supports two different styles of amusement parks and Harper’s family park seems to be having a long run of bad luck. Bad enough that she’s willing to, or reluctantly willing to hire her ex-childhood friend Rafferty to help out with some of the performances. They have a history, and while there was a lot of good in their past there are also some major heartbreaking moments as well. Putting her trust in Rafferty is probably not a wise move on Harper’s part but with few other options, she hopes for the best.

Rafferty has a hidden agenda. And once Harper finds out about it she’s going to be devastated once again by her old friend who might be turning into something more important. He knows about her trust issues, he also knows that he’s not looking for the same things in life that Harper is – mainly commitment to one woman for a lifetime, building a life together or someday kids. While he has his reasons for feeling as he does he still moves ahead with the plan – and ends up falling in love with the last woman he ever thought would change his mind. Now he has to try to salvage a relationship while hoping that Harper can forgive… eventually.

I found THE FIREFIGHTER’S CINDERELLA to be a good story, clean and sweet (for the most part). For me, the author did too good of a job in convincing me early on that Rafferty was an absolute jerk and I never could see past his actions toward Harper as he hurt her over and over again. Not meaning to, but the hurt is still hurt whether it’s intended or not. He is a player, a bachelor who sees love, family, commitment to one woman as a horrible fate and cannot understand why any man would settle for one when there are so many available. I just… couldn’t like Rafferty. And that dislike played over the rest of the romance for me. Harper was far too good for this man, in spite of matchmaking grandmas and several second chances. There is an audience who will love Harper and Rafferty as a couple, we all like different things in books, and in relationships. It’s a good story, well put together, with engaging secondary characters – I simply could not care for our Hero and that changed my reactions to his story.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

I picked up The Firefighter's Cinderella because the blurb reminded me of Well Met, which I loved, where the characters had great chemistry in costume but fought IRL. It's actually more of a second chance romance since Harper and Rafferty were childhood friends who had a falling out years ago when one of them proposed dating.

I love the small town thing where everyone except the couple knows they're going to get together, as well as the meddling grandmother in this story. I also enjoyed Harper's fairy tale-themed amusement park, though I wish we'd gotten to see more of it other than the show. But I had some issues with the story as well, primarily that I found Harper really unsympathetic at first. I think if I had read the first two books in the series that feature Rafferty's siblings, she would have been even more so. I also felt like the timeline of their friendship was confusing.

The Firefighter's Cinderella is very much a Hallmark Movie waiting to happen due to its rushed HEA (although the short length contributes to that as well) and the lack of heat. But if you enjoy those fluffy, feel good romances you might want to give this one a try.

A very well written and entertaining romance. I enjoyed the plot and the fun cast of characters. I highly recommend this book. My thanks to the publisher for my advance ebook. This is my unbiased review.

Rafferty (love the name, very mischevious and exciting) is such a fun, flirty, intense kinda guy. I loved him in this story as he interacts with Harper. Their banter will put a smile on your face. She is easily riled by him, but still keeps him in check as far as their blown friendship goes. Harper endured a lot of confusion and hurt when their friendship broke up. And her confession to him tugged on my heart. I understand his feelings, but was so glad for the lightbulb moment and he came to his senses. The ending was beautiful and every girl's fairy tale come true.

This friends to lovers, second chance romance fell really really flat for me because I couldn't be convinced the Hero was a reformed player and ready to finally settle down and love one woman. Not when 95% of the book had him constantly harping about his love of variety in women, his strong objection to love, marriage, commitment and kids (all things the heroine had no calms about professing to want, above all things!) and he's assurance that the heroine wasn't his type.

None of that sounds remotely romantic to me so yeah, I didn't like Rafferty. He really hurt Harper but somehow always manages to have the last word when she confronts him. He was always deflecting to the point of being belligerent to her. And I guess it really bugged me that he so easily disregarding Harper's feelings after admitting to knowing the reasons why she's cautious about trusting men. He knew first hand that Harper wouldn't so easily make herself vulnerable but both times she does, he ruthlessly tears her down to protect himself.

He promised he would never hurt her but than turns around and hurts her to "protect her". Seriously? This excuse just doesn't fly for me. Rafferty was a colossal a-hole and it completely sucked that Harper - who had legit reasons for disliking him and having walls up because of him - took him back so easily.

This was not for me.

A fun, humorous romance with a couple of twists. Harper and Rafferty were once good friends, until their life outlooks became too different. Now, even while their families still want to see them together, they barely speak. Harper's business in jeopardy, and Rafferty needs to prove something to his boss. Can they help each other, and maybe find their way back to friendship at the same time? Is there a fairy tale ending in store for this couple?

Harper and Rafferty complement each other perfectly in this Cinderella love story. Well, except that in the beginning, I thought Rafferty was a pretty conceited douche. Well-written, realistic, but also very conceited. Very full of himself. And Harper has a mad-on going with him. I wasn’t sure I really understood her anger in the beginning of the book but I did enjoy watching things progress between the two of them.

Oh, and the firefighter aspect – definitely a plus for me :)

As for the plot . . .
What I enjoyed most about this book was the setting. I loved the idea of the Renaissance-type fair with the Cinderella love story worked in. Two unique aspects were woven together really well and, with everything going on, there certainly aren’t any lulls in this book.
