I found it hard to get into the excerpt for Cornered at Christmas by Barb Han. I found that there was not enough description of the scenes and it bounced from one thing to the next without spending much time in any situation. It made it harder to get into the emotion of the story instead of just an outline of the plot.

My favorite of the three excerpts was Coming Home for Christmas by RaeAnne Thayne. It left me with a bunch of questions which makes me want to pick up the book to find out what happens. I could feel the pain of both characters and felt connected with the characters through it.

Christmas from the Heart by Sheila Roberts was hard to get into as well. The scenes were too short to get a good feel for the character’s personalities and found the selfishness of the characters off-putting. If I read the whole book, I would hope that the characters would see some changes in their characters.

I love the opportunity to read excerpts from new books! I am always on the lookout for a good read and appreciate the opportunity to preview new authors or catch up with my favorites.
