Another captivating psychological thriller by Ms Slater. Though I could guess the initial twist, the later ones were out of the blue. The author has very clever ways of pulling the wool over our eyes. 4.5 stars.

I'm a huge fan of K.L. Slater and had to read all her books as soon as they become available.
She has this fantastic skill of taking what seems to be ordinary situations and weaves a twisty story like to other.

Here we have Darcy, a single mom who lost her husband a couple of years earlier. She has two boys and would do anything for them. One day while playing one of the boys had an emergency and was saved by a doctor, George. George also happens to be a single parents and soon Darcy moves in with George.

This is when strange things starts happening and unsettling letters and packages start arriving at their home. George claims that his ex is a bit unstable and seems to be stalking him. But things are not adding up and soon Darcy realizes that the truth might put her safety and that of her boys in peril. Is George telling the truth? and what will Darcy do to protect her beloved boys? Enjoy yet another delicious thriller from this highly talented author.

Thanks Netgalley, Bookouture, and K.L. Slater for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I have only recently discovered K.L Slater and she is fast becoming one of my favourite authors. As soon as I see her name on a book, i have to have it as i know it will be nothing short of fabulous. She throws in so many twists and turns it's near impossible to choose who the culprit will be at the end.

I really enjoyed this book and enjoyed the mother bear protecting her Cubs at all costs. Really makes you think of the lengths you would go to, to protect your own children in the same situation.

I will look forward to reading more by K.L Slater in the future.

Another hit for K. L. Slater!

The best K.L. Slater novel yet! Darcy, a widow, has two sons, Kane and Harrison. They are both still in elementary school. The reader finds that Darcy is a widow - and there is a dark shadow over her late husband, Joel. Things were so poorly with Darcy after Joel passed that his fraternal grandparents had legal custody over the two boys. Darcy even spent time as an inpatient at Edge House Clinic. However, this all was 4 years ago and Darcy has her boys back and is still in touch with Joel's family. Maybe a little too much?

Darcy meets George, a surgeon, and their relationship moves fast. Perhaps too fast, as both Darcy and George have hidden pasts and secrets. We also find that Darcy is being closely watched by someone...

The characters in this story are so remarkable that they come alive. Darcy wants to be with George but for some reason her in-laws have their own ideas about their grandchildren.A great book - NOT to be missed.

HIGHLY recommend to all!

Many Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for a superb read (as always) by K.L. Slater.

I am extremely excited to read Single by K.L. Slater which is coming to us in November! This author has a body of work that consistently receives four and five stars. Single will be the first book I have read by her and I am really thrilled to begin it today!

Here is what you need to know:

‘I keep feeling like I’m being watched – dropping the boys off at school, choosing wine at the supermarket – but when I turn around there’s nobody there…’

When single mother Darcy’s son falls from a rope bridge at a local playground, life stands still. She clutches his small, limp body, frozen, until a pair of strong hands push her aside, and she watches as George, a local doctor, saves her son’s life.

George is a single parent too, and with his twinkling hazel eyes, easy charm, and lack of wedding band is almost too good to be true, but coffee becomes lunch, lunch becomes dinner, and soon they can’t go an evening without seeing each other. When he invites her to move into his beautiful home with its sprawling garden for her boys, Darcy doesn’t hesitate.

But as Darcy is settling in, she receives a bunch of flowers with a chilling message. George says they’re from an obsessed ex-girlfriend, Opal, and days later Opal turns up at Darcy’s son’s football match. She claims to have shocking information that could threaten George’s custody of his daughter.

Darcy doesn’t know who to trust, but she’s starting to suspect that, whatever the truth, she might have put her beloved boys into terrible danger…

I was just reading the reviews for this author’s books and it’s clear she is an excellent writer who can pen fantastic suspense. There are several books on Amazon for $3.99 so be sure to check them out.

This one comes to you on November 25, 2019 and you can place an order for it here.

I didn’t think I would say it as I loved the last book, however KL Slater gets better with every new book that she releases.
This is the perfect psychological thriller that I couldn’t put down. It has lots of twists and turns that kept me guessing throughout.
It’s a fabulous read that’s very well written. I’d recommend it to anyone and is without doubt a 5 star read.

Wow, wow, wow! This completely gripped me right from the start and didn’t let go until I finished it in the early hours of this morning. I should know by now to expect bleary eyes the day after reading a K.L. Slater book. She thrashes you around the head with so many twists, turns and secrets that you have no choice but to keep reading as quickly as you can regardless of the time of night!
We immediately meet Darcy, who is obviously having some kind of breakdown after the death of her husband. The events that unfold have you doubting everyone and everything. Nothing is as it seems, but who can you trust? As the story develops, you see Darcy start to put her life back together and meet a new man, esteemed doctor, George. They have a lot in common and have a whirlwind romance. She seems to be getting her life back on track finally, but her ex’s family have other ideas.
I didn’t see any of the twists or surprises coming, and I knew I’d have to wait for the end for everything to be pieced together and to get all the answers. I was totally side-swiped and shocked by everything that was happening. The author certainly kept everything close to her chest and didn’t reveal anything until she was ready. This formula had me on the edge of my seat reading it; I didn’t know what direction any of it was going to go in, and I loved how it did end.
The main character, Darcy, was brilliantly written, you really warm to her straight away and want everything to work out for the best. After everything she has been through, she deserves happiness, but before she can get there, she had to navigate through some not so pleasant characters first. Nothing is as it seems, and the story was perfectly executed.
This is a perfect Psychological Thriller, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. A solid five-star read!

Another excellent book by K L Slater! This author really knows how to write a twisted psychological thriller! So many dodgy characters hiding a variety of secrets, just when you think you have figured out who is the 'goody' and who is the 'baddy', something happens to change your perceptions.
Plenty of twists and turns, K L Slater is one of my go to authors and I would highly recommend all of her books.

Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to preview Single by KL Slater. Another hit - Slater has the innate ability to take family situations and bring the drama, humor, and scariness to any situation.
A single mother's child is saved by a doctor and soon they begin a relationship. But the doctor has an ex and she's not going to let anything come between what she believes to be true and the truth.
Nailbiting - 4 stars - Recommend.

Single by K. L. Slater is a psychological thriller with lots of twists and turns.
Darcy is a widow with two young boys and is finding it hard to cope.
Her youngest son has an asthma attack at the play park and a local doctor who is there with his young daughter helps to save her son. Darcy immediately falls for George and visits him at his place of work.
Lots going on behind the scenes in this story with quite a few narrators and a lot of red herrings.
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for my e-copy in exchange for an honest review.

K L Slater is a master of the psychological thriller genre and Single is yet another example of this. I read this book in just a few hours, not ready to put it down and determined to work out how it would end. Every scenario I came up with was wrong, and to me that is a sign of a great story. This one was so twisty and believable - fantastic. If you have not read anything by Slater before what are you waiting for? Seriously, you will not regret it.

Darcy is a single mum, having lost her husband 4 years earlier. She has 2 boys and would do anything for them. One afternoon at the park one of her boys falls from the play equipment and George comes to the rescue. Gerorge is a doctor and also a single parent. The pair start dating and soon Darcy is moving in with George. Then the mystery parcelas ans letters start coming and George admits that his ex girlfriend is a bit unstable and is stalking him. But things are not adding up and Darcy begins to wonder who she can trust. When her life and that of her boy she is in danger she has to trust her gut.

Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for my advanced copy of this book to read. All opinions are my own and are in no way biased

I thoroughly enjoyed the thrill of this book. it was a fast paced, couldn't put down psychological thriller. I feel that there were moments towards the ending that the plot started to become undone. I love a thriller that leaves you questioning who you can trust, but sometimes, doubting every character can somewhat over do it. I found that to be the case in the last 20% of the book: too many people to suspect, not enough solidity! this was a great quick read for those who are in the mood for a gripping thriller. be warned that there are some mentions of mental illness, suicide and self harm. as I battle all three, I don't often enjoy coming across them in my thrillers!

Thank you NetGalley for an advanced copy of Single!

Wow, what an emotional rollercoaster this book was!! Darcy is a single widow who one day meets the handsome, charming George when he saves her sons life. Darcy’s in-laws think it’s too soon for her to be dating after the death of her husband Joel, but Darcy is happy with George! However, George has a woman, Opal, stalking him and his daughter Romy, and Darcy is starting to get very nervous in regards to her sons’ safety. But Darcy has some secrets of her own and someone is anxious to fill George in. I felt reading this book I didn’t know who to believe and who to like... one second a character seems nice and you really like them and then bam! They do something that makes you think “what????”. There were so many twists in this book and once you found out who Darcy really is, who Opal really is and who George really is, you’ll be shocked at the terrible events that happen!!

In a saturated, cynical market, kudos to those authors that can still manage to pull off a shocker every now and again.

Whose story can you trust? Where do your loyalties lie? 'Single' is a book that can be summed up in pairs: Son #1 and Son #2; Marriage #1 and Marriage #2; Schmuck #1 and Schmuck #2; Crazy Ex #1 and Crazy Ex #2. The best pairing of all, however, was Shock #1 and Shock #2. Yes, I got tripped up not once, but TWICE!

I would liken reading 'Single' to being strapped into a car with a broken axle on the Tilt-A-Whirl carnival ride. You're gonna get tossed around until you don't know which way is up. Yet, in the end, you can't deny that it was one helluva ride.

All superlatives aside, this book stands out in its cleverness and execution. K.L. Slater knocked it out of the park. 5+ stars.

Thank you to NetGalley, Bookouture, and K.L. Slater for an ARC of 'Single' in exchange for an honest and voluntary review.

Another stunning novel from KL Slater. Every book is stunning and a true mystery.
In this Darcy meets new man George and the only thing standing in their happy ever after is Opal, George’s obsessed ex girlfriend. Darcy is also struggling with her ex in laws and their need to stay in their grandchildren’s lives. You almost think you can guess how the story will unfold but I guarantee you won’t have a clue.
Loved every twist and turn. The only negative is what to read next as it won’t live up to KL Slater, fingers crossed her next novel won’t take long!

Well a great big enormous WOW this was such a brilliant read, totally compulsive and everything you want in a psychological thriller !!
I read a lot of thrillers and sometimes this has a detrimental effect as I tend to guess a lot of the twists in these type of books but this one took me totally by surprise with its many twists and it was a book that I just devoured. This is my third read by K L Slater and is by far my favourite even though I loved the other two this one just had that something extra that took it to the top of my list.
I thought all the characters were exceptional well crafted and liked Darcy in particular as she was a flawed character in part due to a break down in the past which leaves her easy to be manipulated and slightly gullible.
So for me this was a book I couldn’t put down and can highly recommend for psychological thriller lovers.
My thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for giving me the chance to read the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

Wow, I LOVED this book!!! 5 stars easy!! This is my first novel by K.L. Slater and most certainly will not be my last.

Darcy, a young mother of two, is trying to overcome a difficult past when she almost loses her son at a playground from an asthma attack. A handsome doctor George rushes in to save the boy. Overly trusting and ready to move forward with her life, Darcy begins dating George. But how well do you really know someone? Darcy feels like she is being watched and fears for the safety of her boys. Obsession, lies, betrayals interlace this spine-tingling thriller.

This is the kind of book you cannot put down or stop thinking about. I often had chills and felt like I experiencing this story as the main character. There is no way you will be able to guess the ending. You will have to enjoy the thrilling ride until the end to figure it out.

Thank you, Net Galley, for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Single by K.L. Slater is another gripping tale from an author who has very quickly established herself as a must read for me. Fans who are expecting a fast-paced thriller that keeps you guessing through a myriad of twists, turns, and jaw-dropping reveals will not be disappointed.

Darcy is a woman on the brink when she meets dashing surgeon George. Struggling to maintain a relationship with her in-laws following the death of her husband, Joel, Darcy is grappling with her new reality as a single mother to two young boys. When George and his daughter, Romy, enter her life, Darcy dares to believe that after four long years she may once again have found happiness. But when George's crazed ex makes an appearance, along with another unwelcome entity known to Darcy, the seemingly perfect world that George and Darcy have tried to create seems to hang in the balance, becoming jeopardized by an unreconciled past that refuses to relent.

This is an engaging thriller that will certainly hit the spot for any K.L. Slater fan.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for this ARC.

As I have come to expect from this author this is a gripping psychological thriller. After her experiences with her late husband Darcy trusts no one, least of all herself. Someone must be lying to her but who is concerned for her welfare and who is trying to manipulate her for their own benefit. Surely she deserves to be happy at last.
This book kept me awake until the early hours, promising myself time and again that I would only read one more chapter until I was too far into the story to stop. All in all it's a really great read.
