What I liked:
* Mara: tough cookie who knew what her priorities and truths were...or thought she did.
* Two men in the story that I won’t name BUT will say that I thoroughly admired by the end of the book
* The twists and turns I did not see coming
* The writing
* The plot and pace of the story
* Not wanting to say goodbye to the characters when I read the last page

What I did not like:
* The people and group I was meant not to like
* The fact that some people can be so brainwashed or deluded in believing the things they sometimes do
* What those deluded people, just mentioned, are willing to do to further their aims

Did I like this book? I really did
Would I read more by this author/in this series? As soon as I can!

Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Books for the ARC – This is my honest review.

Powerful and exciting! Spies, traitors, end of the world, and a family reunion of sorts. There were multiple viewpoints from the Asset to Scott, agent on the run, to Mara, his daughter and CIA agent, and even a former president. Taking in the puzzle pieces kept me guessing and not wanting to stop reading. Gunhus wrote a storyline that was meant for the movies, only better. I was thrilled to get an advanced copy and wrote my review voluntarily.

Fast-paced thriller starts off with marine vet Mara picking her dad up at prison upon his release, but it’s really for the purpose of killing him. Through an unusual twist of fate, they both have to escape a betrayal, and the journey begins. Father, Scott, and daughter, through a series of flashbacks and current events struggle to repair their relationship while attacking a former president, hiding from an assassin sent to eliminate them, and seeking to rescue their nephew/grandson. Figuring out who to trust is also a challenge as they try to find out more about Omega, a secret organization with world-wide presence and power that has target both of them as they (Omega) carry out their nefarious plan.
