Publisher Please Note: I reviewed this book originally for Julia Quinn a few years ago on Amazon and Netgalley under my maiden name, and I recently noticed my review never showed up under that account. I'm including my review link for Goodreads as well as my original review from Amazon I posted a few years ago. I'm sorry for any confusion this may have caused and now have it all sorted out.

I got a copy of The Billionaire in Boots in advance from NetGalley. I first got acquainted with Julia London's books when I read her historical books. I have been loving the contemporary series. This story is about Nick and Charlotte. Nick and Charlotte spent one night together in the past and never spoke of it again. Those passions remained ignited, but neither one of them acted on it and tried to distance themselves to remain professional since they had a working relationship. Charlotte is a strong woman. She isn't afraid to say what's on her mind or stand up for herself, but she's also got a more vulnerable side. Nick can come across as being a little restful at first, because he's not doing what he truly loves. His passion is flying, and his dream and goal in life was to be a commercial pilot for an airline after he got his license. Before he could accomplish those goals, his world got flipped upside down when his dad passed away and he had to take over the family farm from the brink of bankruptcy. Though Nick can be stubborn, he finally comes around and he and Charlotte reconnect. I loved the story of Nick and Charlotte, & I recommend it to anyone who wants to read a great series and an even more wonderful story.

The oldest and final—legitimate—Prince son has finally met his match and the time has come for him to decide what is most important for his future and happiness. I can still honestly say that while I am enamored of Julia’s skill as an author and her ability to spin a tale, my preference lies still with my first love of her work which is her historical romances. While I enjoyed reading this series and can certainly see the appeal overall, there is just something missing for me that she never seems to be lacking in her historicals. This series has revolved around the Prince family, Texas royalty or in other words cattle people, who have recently had their world shaken when the patriarch of the family dies and the secrets he has long kept buried are brought to light. The first two stories about the younger siblings were interesting and gave me a few laughs along the way, but were definitely not my favorites either, and I knew going in that Nick and Charlotte’s story was going to be a tear-jerker. But for anyone that likes some silliness and sadness alongside their romance, this story would be right up their alley. I also assumed this story would be the end of the series, but apparently there is another coming and I suspect I know who will be the hero of it, but there have been no details released just yet. I will definitely read the final story just to see what happens next, but I am truly dying for whatever Ms. London releases next in her historical line and gives me back for my favorite branch of romance.
Nick and Charlotte have been dancing around one another for a while now, ever since the fateful night almost two years ago when they made an error in judgment that landed then in bed together. Now they are forced to work side-by-side running the cattle company, one that Nick resents with every fiber of his being and just simply wants out from under. Charlotte wants Nick and knows it is mutual, but there is something keeping him at a distance and she enjoys needling him at every turn, but at the same time she has a true desire to move forward with her goal of a family and an HEA. When they both decide that the dancing is better together, the sparks fly and soon they are in way deeper than either of them could have imagined initially. Now Nick has to decide if there is a place for Charlotte and a future with her in his life goals, or if letting her go is the best thing for them both in the long run. And Charlotte has to decide if Nick’s mistakes are too big to ever forgive and forget to give him another chance at her heart.
Billionaire in Boots is a deceptively simple story on its surface. Two people that have been rubbing along for years finally decide to give it a go and see where life leads them, but there is so much more going on that sometimes it becomes a bit too much for one story. Nick has dreams that he has had to put on hold in order to fulfill her duty to his family, but he knows that it is time for him to go all in or he will never find an ounce of happiness for himself. I hated seeing how he was always put down by his family, even in subtle and maybe unintentional ways, and I could certainly see how he felt like he was the son that was left with a forced future instead of the chance to be himself. His resentment made him into an even more broody guy than he is by nature, but he definitely had his light moments with Charlotte and his niece which were fun to watch. Charlotte takes an entirely different view of life, trying to inject life and love into every moment even if she is working. Fun can be had in all moments to her and I can appreciate her view, even if I can’t live it personally. She was a perfect match, or I guess foil would be a better term, to Nick’s personality and made them perfect together. I hated to see the angst between them in the rough patches they went through, but in the end I think they will succeed and find their true happiness as they move forward with their future together. HEA doesn’t always end up like the characters or the readers imagined, but sometimes it is perfect nonetheless and that was the case here. There was plenty of passion once they gave into it, but the story really revolved around them dealing with the emotional drama they had to overcome. I enjoyed the story overall and would have loved it had there been a few little differences here and there but that’s just my personal little glitch with some motifs. I am wondering what will come next in this series and dying for the next in London’s historical series to be sure. Seems like I am never going to be a true convert for the contemporary branch of her writing, but the series is enjoyable and has its moments of greatness for certain.

Nick has had a rough couple of years. His father's death has messed up lots of things for his family, but Nick seems to have gotten the brunt of it. He is angry about that but trying to cover it up and do the right thing. There are only a couple of bright spots in his life: his animals and Charlotte. It's too bad Charlotte can't stand him. I have felt really bad for Nick over the last two books, and I am glad he is getting his happy ending. He deserves it.
Charlotte is a pistol. She has run the ranch office for years and can do it blindfolded. She is smart, cheerful, and focused on her dream of having a family someday. I really loved her spirit and sense of humor. I am ready to ride to Three Rivers and be her best friend right now!
These two are obviously meant to be together. They have so much chemistry, but they can't quite make reality match. I got choked up while they struggled. But I also laughed a lot because Charlotte keeps the banter rolling. I just love her! A great book!

Another great contemporary rom-com from Julia London. I absolutely love the Princes of Texas! Nick and Charlotte were adorable together. Glad they made peace with each other and work out what they needed from each other. Now I can't wait to hear about the half brother and hope he gets to have a relationship with his siblings.

Billionaire in Boots was a highly anticipated story and it lived up to its expectations. Nick Prince, is the oldest of the Prince siblings, and a lot of responsibility fell on his shoulders after his father’s death. He now runs the ranch and is doing what he has to do instead of what he wants to do; fly planes. The one bright side out of all of this is working with Charlotte. She antagonizes, teases, gets on his last nerve at times, and is a woman who is attractive and a wonderful lover. Their one night together was unforgettable but knows that she needs someone else to give her what she wants. He just doesn’t realize that he might be what she needs.

Charlotte made this story fun with her witty comments, her focus, her antics and a strong personality. She wants a family and sets a plan in motion to get what she wants. She finds herself comparing her dates to Nick because he’s a standard that she wants in a man. Finding herself in a sexual fling with Nick without a label on it was nice, but too good to be true. Nick tends to overthink things and shattered her heart once again. Charlotte tended to her own recovery but knew Nick was the only one for her. Nick needed time and distance away to get him to realize what was missing from his life. Charlotte didn’t make it easy for him and he had to work hard to show her he was all in for her.

Julia London has written a pleasant romance for two very likable individuals. Her writing was inviting and the story was captivating. She developed insightful and flawed characters with redeeming qualities that you wanted to love and cheer for. I wanted to keep reading it long into the night to find out how Nick and Charlotte were going to find their happy ending. It wasn’t an easy road because Nick had to find his way out of ranching before he can come back to Charlotte. An added bonus in the story was how both their families added their two cents to the story. Overall, I loved it. A romance story that is full of heart and charm.

His father's death has trapped Nick into running Saddlebush Land and Cattle Company. He's angry that he is expected to give up his dream of flying. He wants to travel and to escape his family's expectations. His Family is over the top. They think Nick is a grump and they tell him he's a loner. They don't appreciate his strength. I was impressed that he adopts abandoned and abused animals. He cares for them. I liked his flirty interaction with Charlotte Bailey. Their emails made me laugh. It hide the powerful attraction between these two. I hoped they would develop a lasting relationship. However, I was worried that they wanted different lifestyles. Charlotte wants a husband and babies, but Nick wants to fly and see the world. He doesn't want any relationship responsibilities. I was upset when Nick broke up with Lottie. I hated how heartbroken she was. I wasn't sure that Nick would ever come to his senses. Julia London kept me entertained. Don't get me started on the baseball rivalry. I couldn't put down Billionaire in Boots. I'm enjoying the Princes of Texas novels. It will be hard to wait for the next book which comes out in 2021.
I received a copy of this book which I voluntarily read and reviewed. My comments are my honest opinion.

Brought to you by OBS reviewer Caro

The mysterious Nick Prince finally makes his long awaited appearance! Finally! Book one mentioned him very little and for a moment I feared something would happen to him. He was always mentioned being too busy, somewhat unhappy with his life and would miss events with his family. But author Julia London did not leave fans waiting anymore and finally let readers look into Nick’s mysterious and lonely life in The Billionaire in Boots.

We learn that Nick has been dedicating his new life to fixing the damage left behind by his father’s sudden death and gambling problems. Nowadays, he spends most of his time at the office or on a horse attending to the cattle and helping around the ranch. He no longer has time to fly or go out with friends. His father’s debt keeps piling up resulting in more troublesome to fix than expected. Nick can’t seem to get a break.

Then comes in Charlotte. Nick didn’t expect to work so close with her and have to rely on her knowledge of the office. It all seems like business, but both of them can’t deny that their relationship is more than that of a boss and employee. Too bad Charlotte is looking for a serious relationship, while Nick is looking for a way out of his family. Charlotte has been mentioned in previous books, but her personality and character hadn’t been shown well enough to map her out. Now, in her own story, we learn that she is ready to find someone, get married and start having babies. Her time is running out and the right person is taking their time. She has her goals and dreams set, and won’t wait for anyone anymore. I do have to say that exploring the interactions and chemistry between these two was really fun.

Previous characters and new ones were mentioned, such as Hallie and her newborn baby, Luca and Ella, and my all time favorite, grandma! She’s still going to Walmart and being her usual Prince grandmother. Nick’s mom is also amazing in her way. She is still mourning the loss of her husband, but does not lose her cool. I can’t wait to see her in action in the next book. I have a feeling she will be a big part of it.

“For God’s sake, if you can hold a beer bottle, you can hold a baby. And we all know you can hold a beer bottle.”

The Prince siblings were struggling before their father died. After their father died, they not only struggled with his loss, but they also dealt with the pressure and emotions they had been harboring since they were children. One by one, they matured, changed their goals in life and accepted the death of their father in their own way. Now, it is time for Delia Prince’s story to begin.

Charlotte and Nick’s book was fantastic. It’s everything that you would expect in a Julia London book. Great story, well written characters, humor, and romance all in one fabulous book. We got to check in with several characters from the other books in the series. As always, Julia London is one of my go to authors and she never disappoints. Although you can read it as a stand alone book, this has been a great series that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed.

Billionaire in Boots is the third contemporary romance in this series from Julia London. The Prince family suffers a huge blow when the patriarch dies and the family realizes that the family fortune is almost gone. Lifestyles have to change, and Nick steps up to run the family business he never wanted. Miserable and tied by family loyalty he and Charlotte who what his fathers administrative assistant dance around the obvious chemistry between them "for the good of the company". But both are miserable. This is a great tale of family loyalty, love, and doing what you need for your own life and happiness and how they can all be brought together. Julia London never writes a bad story, loved this one too.

Was I first drawn to this book because of that dog on the cover? 100%! And it was a good decision - the story in the pages lived up to the cover. And there was not one but two dogs - a very good dog and a very bad dog and I loved them both.

There is also a romance with a couple of my favorite things - a grumpy hero and some great banter. Nick is a vegetarian cattle rancher who desperately wants to be a pilot. He put those plans on hold to run the ranch when his father passed away. Charlotte is the office manager for the ranch and keeps everything running smoothly with her color coded filing system.

I really enjoyed this read. While it’s the third in the series, it’s the first one I read but I’m excited to go back and read the others too! There was a little about the resolution at the end that I didn’t love - but glad to let it slide because the rest was definitely worth it.

Thank you Berkley and Netgalley for the advance reading copy!

Julia London is the queen of penning family-focused tales that are funny and endearing with a little bit of angst at the same time. Patriarch Charlie Prince died unexpectedly leaving his family to pick up the pieces that his gambling debts, affairs, and bad decisions left behind. Charlie supported Nick’s plans to leave town and enroll in flight school, but his death left the family reeling and his oldest son no choice in running the ranch. He is a cowboy who loves the ranch but doesn’t want to run the ranch. He doesn’t even eat meat!!!

Charlotte Bailey worked in the Prince headquarters for years and could run the ranch better than anyone. She is a woman who knows what she wants. And she wants the whole enchilada – house, white picket fence, children, and a husband who loves her so much. In cowboy terms she wanted a man who would ride all night just to get to her.

This is the story I’ve been waiting for since I read the first book in this series. It’s easy to say Nick just has a chip on his over privileged shoulders but, as each layer of his personality was peeled away, I fell so much in love with his character and his dreams. And, Charlotte - I loved how she clearly knew what she wanted and needed.

This story hit a home run with community, zany family, and a few farm misfits as the backdrop. It alternately made me laugh and pulled at my heart strings. I loved it!

I think every new book in Julia London’s Princes of Texas is my favorite, and BILLIONAIRE IN BOOTS has taken that place in my heart. I love Nick and Charlotte, both as individuals and as a couple. Nick is the eldest of the Prince children and has always felt like he’s a square peg trying to fit into a round hole when it comes to his family. After all, how many cattle ranchers are vegetarians? Plus, all he’s ever wanted to do is fly. When his father died leaving the family business in a mess, Nick is the one that everyone expects to fix things, so he puts aside his dreams and becomes a grumpy rancher. Charlotte knows the Prince business inside and out, and it’s her job to help Nick…and forget their one night together before his father died. All she wants is a family of her own, and time is running out to find it. Watching Nick and Charlotte’s relationship is so much fun, especially as they evolve from employee and boss, to friends, to something more. Nick feels the most at ease with Charlotte, but knows they are on different paths. Can they find their way to each other and their dreams?
Not only are Nick and Charlotte characters to love, we return to the Prince family that is full of characters that will keep you giggling at their antics. Added to that, we have Charlotte’s family that adds another level of fun, not to mention an expanding cast of animal characters. There is so much more I want to say, but you should discover it yourself.
This is book three in the series, but it can be read as a stand-alone, though I recommend all three. There is one more Prince, so I can’t wait to see what London does with Tanner.
Thank you to NetGalley for my advanced review copy. All opinions and thoughts are my own.

Julia London does it again. The Billionaire in Boots lives up to the bar set be the previous installments of the Prince sibilants. Though Charlotte may be my favorite character based on sass alone.
Nick and Charolette appear to many to get along as well of oil and water. But there is no denying a spark of chemistry that Nick cannot stop. The interchange between Nick and Charlotte was thoroughly enjoyable; they each know how to push each other’s buttons yet know the deep truths the other hold close. This was an amazing read and cannot wait to reread in preparation for the next Prince book. Highly recommended if you enjoy a good laugh, shedding a tear or two, and most of all a happily ever after.

Princes of Texas Book Three.

Nick Prince has wanted to be a pilot since he was eight, but his dreams were ruined when his father left the running of the family ranch to Nick in his will. Now, Nick is stuck on the ranch for the foreseeable future. Charlotte Bailey has been running the ranch with Charlie for years and knows everything about the day-to-day business. As the office manager, she is the real power behind the ranch. Now that Nick is in charge, the two have to work together every day. This is a problem, seeing as they have a rather complicated past. Neither can get over the one night they spent together, but do they really want to?

If you've been waiting to see sparks fly between "Born with a Broken Heart" Nick and "All Business" Charlotte, this is the book for you!

Yet again, Julia London has pulled me into another story. Her characters feel so honest and real, and have an edge of fun and wit that kept me snickering. I loved escaping to the wilds of Texas with these two (and their pups). This book was a joy to read and a lovely vacation from a busy life.

I had a great time reading this book! From the first page you know that the banter between Nick and Charlotte would make this a fun read. After Nick's father's death Nick's dreams of becoming a commercial pilot fly out the window, he had a ranch to run, debts to make right and a family that needed him. Charlotte grew up with Nick, she worked for his father after graduating college, since she began working under Nick their chemistry has been thick, especially after a hot Christmas night together. But Nick and Charlotte are at two different points in their life, he wants to be out seeing the world and she want to settle down and start a family, can they get on the same plane? This book is full of great witty banter, quirky characters-family at that-, a vegetarian cattle rancher , bad app dates and sexual tension, what a great read!

What can I say about the final book in the trilogy? Lots but I will try to be brief. LOL! I’ve read all the books and this one has to be my favorite. It was close because I love Hallie to death. Plus, their mother and grandmother are such a hoot.
What endeared me to this book so much was Nick and Charlotte. Both are very likeable characters and people that I cared about throughout the book. Nick is a grump, but he has every right to be a grump. Being a rancher was never his life plan and the resentment that he still held on from his father and in some ways his mother, are relatable. I especially loved the scene with his mother regarding him being her son. It was heartfelt and poignant. At that moment, I finally connected with her and generally felt a tug on the heart. There might have been a tear or two.
Charlotte is hilarious but she in her own right is royalty in town. Just not with the money. The emails back and forth between them are downright hilarious but also you get a feel for their chemistry and the true friendship developing between them. They both need each other but are too afraid to admit it to themselves, much less each other. Also, Charlotte doesn’t put up with Nick and his grumpiness. She gives him space when needed but can also feel the coldness when he’s gone.
Their chemistry is off the charts, but Ms. London takes her time with them. Nothing is rushed, and the fluidity of the story takes charge. I can only imagine Ms. London writing this book and both characters shouting at her at times. They had a lot to say and she let them say it. Plus, Hallie had a bunch to say, too in the book. She really loved her brother and it shows here. Nothing was going to shut her up except for the bathtub at Nick’s.
I’m sad to see the series end. This is one of my all-time favorites from any author. Ms. London knows how to write a funny, heartfelt, poignant and relatable story with likeable characters.
I miss Charlotte’s dog. He is a scene stealer for sure.

3.75 Hearts This is the third in the series but I have not read the other two and it was perfectly fine. It can be a stand alone.

This is a sweet cowboy romance, yes a bit typical but still \sweet all the same. I adored the email exchanges. They are so funny and sarcastic that I actually caught myself snickering. I also liked that Charlotte wasn’t a wallflower. She told Nick exactly how it was and while the sparks flew Charlotte was not a damsel in distress.

Nick is such a cowboy. Yeah he wants to be a pilot but ranching is in his blood.

Great beach read.

This is book 3 in the Princes of Texas series and I would absolutely read the previous books before reading this or you probably won't understand what is going on in it as those books lead up to this one. In this one we get Nick and Charlotte's story. Nick is the oldest and has always been geared up to take over the family business. Even though it has never been his dream, but now he is left to clean up the mess that is left behind after his father passes away. Charlotte can't believe that Nick is back to run the ranch. And as the office manager, she now has to help him to do so. But such close proximity between the two of them has them both feeling things that they don't believe that they should be.But can plans and dreams change or is it the road to heartache?

I really liked this one! Charlotte is this down to earth woman who isn't afraid to call things as she see's them. And her little bit of snark at times just completely cracked me up! Nick comes across as this man who has the weight of the world on his shoulders. And in some ways, he does. But he is also has his own insecurities to deal with and what he thinks of as the loss of his dreams. But when he figures out what he truly wants-I loved him then! He stepped up and fought for the people he loves along with his own wants and dreams. This book definitely kept me reading!

I think Nick is now my favorite Prince and his story with Charlotte is my favorite happily ever after. The book is well-written and flowed like an evening with friends. I was seriously caught up with all the fun banter between Nick and Charlotte and loved Charlotte's crazy family. Nice slow and steady build up to what ended up being a truly great happily ever after.
