I was fortunate that Netgalley allowed me to download this book after publication. I am not required to leave a positive review. I enjoy this series and this book does not disappoint.

Casey Feldstein local baker and retreat hostess has a crochet retreat planned. The participants are known to each other and have planned their own activities. At the hosting hotel there are two other retreats scheduled, a mindfulness retreat for Silicon Valley start-up entrepreneurs and a bird-watchers group. The hotel manager has arranged the mindfulness retreat. The group finds it lacking and approaches Casey to provide a class on beginning knitting along with a few take away goodies.

Casey stumbles upon a dying mindfulness participant. We find that the crochet group and the mindfulness group know each other. This creates plenty of suspects when the death is determined to be murder.
I liked this book but I don’t like the ploy as used on TV of holding back clues. Since I like to figure out who did it, it’s difficult without clues.

I enjoyed the touches of humor sprinkled throughout the book.

This is book 7 in the Yarn Retreat Cozy series and it's a nice addition. Usually about 6 0r 7 books into a series the characters get stale or the story line doesn't grow. Not here, Casey has a birthday crochet group arriving at Vista Del Mar and it should be easy peazy. With several other retreats going on a murder makes the entire weekend crazy. Now the management is questioning not only Casey's retreats but reviewing the manager's group outings. Lots of returning characters with a few new twists. I received a copy of this ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.

3 1/2 stars rounded up to 4.

This was the first book I've read by this author and though it's part of a series, it can easily be read as a standalone. The problem though? This book drags. And drags. And drags. A good little cozy mystery, it just doesn't move quickly. Will I read the next one though? Yes I will!!

Thank you Netgalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Knot On Your Life by Betty Hechtman is the seventh book in the Yarn Retreat Mystery series. Casey runs a yarn retreat and is a part-time dessert maker. Her yarn retreat is sharing space with a group of tech people on a mindfulness retreat. When she discovers one of the tech people dead, she begins to suspect he was murdered. Even worse she thinks one of the members of her yarn retreat could be guilty. This is the first book I have read in this series, but I was able to follow along just fine. I enjoyed the book and would read more from this series.

This wasnt the first book in the series but was fine to read as a standalone as the author gave brief overviews of past history for the characters and previous murders.

Overall it was a fun, easy read but I didn't think the big reveal was as tense as it could have been personally.

If there are more books in the series I think I would wish to read them but I wont be going back in the catalogue.

Thank you for providing me with an arc.

Princess Fuzzypants here: Casey is a good human. Just ask her cat Julius. She tries to be a mediator in touchy situation between two sets of people for whom she cares and it looks like it might have backfired. She has fears that her sweetheart deal with the Inn where she holds her retreats may be impacted. This all happens on the day a group of friends arrive for a special weekend and the manager of the Inn who does not like Casey is trying to run his own retreat with a group from Silicon Valley.
Things start to get complicated when it appears the two groups are associated and the Silicon group jealously sees the extra lengths Casey goes to and want the same perks. The last thing Casey needs is run afoul of the manager but with every step, she seems to get closer and closer to the edge.
Then we she finds one of the Silicon group injured amongst the rocks, the question is did he fall himself or did someone help him. It becomes further complicated when the man dies, his widow appears and the plethora of connections between the groups makes it more difficult to figure out who is the murderer.
I have enjoyed this series as each book delves deeper into the relationships of the characters. Casey and Julius are a great team too. She provides him with stink fish, not to be confused with stinky goodness, and he provides her with furry companionship..
Quick and easy read with enough twists to keep things interesting and I had no idea that the killer would turn out to the who it was. Four purrs and two paws up.

Knitting, baking…and murder to solve. It’s all on the agenda for a weekend’s retreat at Vista Del Mar for yarn retreat host Casey Feldstein. For her current group, members already have their activities planned, so Casey is thinking it’ll be an easy weekend for her.

Things do heat up, though, when a start-up group from Silicon Valley on a mindfulness weekend and a birdwatching bunch show up for their retreats at the same time at the rustic resort.

But little does Corey know she’ll discover the body of one of the mindfulness group on the rocks at the edge of the sea. Was it a tragic accident or did someone target the victim…and why?

As Casey discovers connections among the members of the various groups and the secrets some are keeping, she unwinds why the victim was killed and who did it.

A well-written cozy mystery with an interesting collection of characters and lots of possible suspects will keep you turning the pages to see if you figure out who the culprit is before Casey does.

Apart from reading i do enjoy various crafts, so couldn't resist reading 'Knot on Your Life'. Really enjoyed and do hope to eventually read the previous books in this series. I rarely write what a book is about as i prefer one to read the book for themselves, but if you enjoy cozy mysteries, i would recommend giving this book a try.

My thanks to Netgalley and the Publishers. This is my honest review, which i have voluntarily given.

(Waiting for Amazon to publish my review).

The seventh installment of Betty Hechtman's "Yarn Retreat Mystery" series is one of the strongest thus far! I particularly enjoyed the large pool of quirky characters in this pseudo "locked room" story not unlike those of Agatha Christie. I would highly recommend this series to fans of Maggie Sefton's "Knitting Mystery" series.

Hechtman provides enough recap (as she does in earlier books as well) that it is possible for a reader to pick up the series with Knot on Your Life however, I would strongly encourage readers to begin the series with earlier installments.

Book 7 in the series. It was okay.

I normally enjoy this series, but this one, I just had a hard time getting in to. I found myself putting it down a lot and moving on to other things. There was a lot going on and I just couldn't concentrate on it.

Still, I enjoy the characters and will continue to read the series.

Another trip to Vista Del Mar winds up in a murder investigation and Casey finds herself in the middle of a mystery linked to retreat groups with dangerous secrets. Who knew a retreat could be so dangerous!

The latest book, in the series, had everything I love about the character and storyline - knitting, baking, a "keep you guessing" mystery and descriptions of the retreat and ocean are always gorgeous. I enjoy the character of Frank, Casey's former P.I. boss who helps her out with the tying the clues together and I would like to see him play a larger role in the series. The only complaint I have is Casey's fear of commitment to Dane, her law enforcement boyfriend. It's been the same from book one and I'm starting to feel bad for Dane! Either have the character break up with him or pursue a relationship where they can at least hold hands in public.

Overall, I enjoyed the book and am happy the series is back!

I received an ARC from NetGalley for a fair and honest review of this book.

This is a pretty good read. I've enjoyed the series. Some parts of the book seem to drag a bit, but overall an enjoyable book.

I really enjoyed this novel and this series! We join Casey as she coordinates a new retreat and tries to stay out of a new mystery. Casey inherited her Aunt Joan’s home and business when she died unexpectedly a short time after Casey came to stay with her at Cadbury by the Sea. Casey works several part time jobs, so life is never dull. I like Casey and situations she finds herself in. The characters are as well-defined as necessary, and the intriguing plot is finely planned and executed. The setting sounds gorgeous; to sit at the ocean at the edge of the continent would be amazing!

Before leaving Chicago for California, Casey’s favorite temp job was as an assistant to a private investigator, Frank. That job and friendship with Frank prepared her for things that just seem to happen around her. Yarn2Go is the business Casey’s aunt left to her. Casey is learning more about various fiber/ yarn arts as she coordinates retreats. They are held at Vista Del Mar Resort and Spa, an unplugged place where many retreats are held. It is hard on some of the folks to leave behind internet, TV, and phones.

This retreat is to honor one of the ladies’ birthday, and as avid knitters, they want to learn to crochet and work on a pattern to take with them. It is the easiest that Casey has done, as they arranged their side trips. The group in the meeting room next to theirs is on a Mindfulness retreat, a bare-bones schedule planned by the resort manager. When the head of that group sees what Casey is offering, he is willing to pay her directly for what her ladies have – goodie bags, snacks, and a project they can take home after Casey showed him how knitting can be a mindfulness task. She and Crystal, her instructor for the weekend, will give a group session special for them.

Casey’s group is unhappy to see the mindfulness group, as they work together during the week. Madison, the birthday lady, is manager of a shared workspace, similar to what used to be called executive suites. Most of the leased spaces/ offices are startups, including the group of four men and one woman next door.

After her initial group session, Casey went to the ocean to do some quiet knitting. Only minutes later she glimpses something off to her side, goes to look, and as she hears sirens in the distance, checks out a man below a rocky area who is bleeding profusely. She finds a weak pulse as the first responders arrive, but he dies soon afterwards. No. She is not getting involved with another death, accidental or otherwise. Even if it is someone from the mindfulness retreat group.

This fun 7th in series is a roller coaster ride of LOL wit interspersed with a gathering of women, quirky characters, drama amongst the resort’s owning family and management, Casey and her boyfriend’s stolen moments, and of course, Casey trying to not help solve the real cause of death. There are what appear to be solid suspects, but nothing prepared this armchair sleuth for who it really was! I highly recommend this delightful story to all who enjoy well-written cozy mysteries, knitting and crocheting, an oceanside setting, and a healthy serving of humor.

From a thankful Heart: I received a copy of this novel from the publisher and NetGalley, and this is my honest review.

What do you do when your life is about to blow up and you helped cause it? Hold another yarn retreat of course! In this case, things are a bit more complicated as you've introduced long lost relatives to each other and you've scheduled a private yarn retreat that your normal retreaters and friends can't attend! Once again Casey has a set of complicated balls juggling in the air and she needs to make sure that she doesn't miss one or her entire life could come cascading down around her ears! To make matters worse, she finds a dead body that has a connection to her group as well as the group the hotel is sponsoring! A cast of well developed characters enhance an intriguing plot wrought with many potential suspects and a mystery that the main character can't help trying to untangle. While you absolutely could read this book as a stand alone story and enjoy it, you would be missing out on hours of enjoyment and backstory that helps solidify the characters personalities. I absolutely can not wait for the next book in this series to become available as I so want to see the direction the author takes the characters' lives next as some big changes are on the horizon! For those that enjoy audiobooks, this series is available on audio and the narrator does an excellent job of bringing the characters and story lines to life!

**I received 'Knot on Your Life' through NetGalley, in exchange of an honest review**

‘Knot on Your Life' by Betty Hechtman is a light-hearted mystery centering around Casey Feldstein. Casey arranges a yarn retreat with her close group of women, and a disorganized string of events ensue. Along with a colorful cast of characters sits a murder that Casey must solve before the dangerous circumstances.
‘Knot on Your Life' is the seventh book in the Yarn Retreat mystery series, yet I found myself keeping pace with the story. Betty Hechtman provides the reader with enough details from past books to stay up to speed with Casey and her situation.
I also enjoy the fact that knitting and crocheting is a strong focal point in this story! I personally love working with yarn, and I enjoy the tidbits of information throughout the book. The yarn pattern within the story was a nice touch! I enjoyed the story so much that I purchased the first installment of the Yarn Retreat series. I wanted to relive Casey's start with her Yarn Retreat community!
If you're a fan of mystery with a touch of crafting, then this book is for you!

I really enjoy this series. I love the characters and the mystery is really good. I can't wait to read the next one.

Knot on Your Life is the first book I have read by Betty Hechtman even though it is book seven f the Yarn Retreat Mystery Series. I haven’t been reading cozy mysteries until recently so there are not that many authors that I am familiar with their mystery books. I chose this book not because it stated the author was a national best seller but because of the craft aspect interest me. For me it was a winner finding a new author whose books I will enjoy reading, previous and new ones.

Told in gossipy sort of way like sitting down with a friend over a cup of coffee, the story of the many characters unfolds. Casey Feldstein is the main Clue solver in this series. Since it was book seven in the series I thought perhaps that I would be lost at time but that was not the case. Casey, who is narrator, tells all that I needed to know concerning background and in this particular story as she experiences it.

An ARC of the book was given to me by the publisher through Net Galley which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I love Betty Hechtman’s books. She has several series and each one of them are superb. I love the knitting aspect of it, and she ties the stories back to this extremely well. The mysteries are well thought out and it keeps me guessing until the end. Wonderful author and I highly recommend them.
