What a totally twisted story...full of unexpected suspense and surprises. There were a few things that happened that I didn’t quite understand and made no sense to me. Definitely would be a great book for a book club discussion!
Overall, I enjoyed this domestic mystery thriller and highly recommend you read it.

This novel hit close to home and I want to share why. It concerns the breakdown of a family when a young child is abducted in the crowded Pike Place Market in Seattle. The parents keep lots of secrets from each other, which the end works to both their detriment. Why close to home? My first marriage ended in divorce, largely through secrets my ex-wife kept about an affair. Our daughter was never abducted, but I did lose track of her once at a sports stadium for about a minute, and it was very terrifying. The emotional rawness of the couple's marriage is exposed quite accurately and examined carefully, and the various plot points (I don't want to give any spoilers) are carefully constructed and written about in excellent detail. This book isn't for everyone, but I have to say it made me think about my own life choices and secrets that I have kept along the way. I highly recommend it.

Thank you NetGallery and the publisher for this arc.
I knew I was going to love this book the minute I saw who the author was. Within 3 pages the author made me feel every emotion that a mother would if her child was missing. Horror, anxiety, guilt and gut wrenching terror.
The twist towards the end surprised me but I don’t want to give any clues or spoilers.
Read this you will not be disappointed.
I definitely will be watching for another book by this author.

I liked this but I thought the ending was weird and also was very annoyed with the whole “we are rich!!” Like there was so much name dropping from brands and it was overkill on how much money the main character had. Not a bad read but not my favorite from this author.

Little Secrets is one of the best psychological suspense books I have ever read!
I could not put the book down from the first page I read.
Marin and Derek are a “ golden couple”.
They have an incredible life. They both have very successful careers. The best part of their life is their 4 year old son. And that’s when the story begins. Do not miss this book! I’m going to check out the authors previous novels.

Secrets always reveal themselves in the end.

I did something I rarely do with a novel. I read LITTLE SECRETS by Jennifer Hillier cover to cover in one day.

What parent can't relate to having their child stolen from them? What horrors must the parents go through? How do they cope? But this isn't a tale just about that. This goes much deeper and becomes much more horrific about people and the secrets they keep.

There are no little secrets. And secrets always reveal themselves in the end.

Highly recommended reading and possibly the best novel of 2020. This will be published by  St. Martins Press in April of 2020.  Don't miss it.

This novel won’t be released until spring, which is a good thing, because this is decidedly NOT a holiday read, even though Marin’s four-year-old son is kidnapped by someone in a Santa suit three days before Christmas.

Marin has become a successful businesswoman married to a successful businessman. After four attempts with IVF, she had Sebastian—she now, officially, had it all. Until, for just a few seconds, she stopped holding her son’s hand on a busy day of Christmas shopping at the mall so she could answer a text. In those few seconds, he wandered away. Security cameras show that he left with someone in a Santa outfit.

For the first portion of the book, I didn’t know if I’d be able to finish it because it was just Marin beating herself up more than a year after his disappearance. Then, things take a very different turn, followed by other decidedly unexpected twists.

This is well-written and a good choice if you’re in the mood for something dark. No villain or victim is all villain or all victim, which makes it interesting.

Thanks so much to NetGalley for the opportunity to preview this book, which RELEASES APRIL 21, 2020.

Little Secrets is the second book I’ve read by Jennifer Hillier. I enjoyed Jar of Hearts last year, and I had high hopes for Little Secrets. Hillier has a way of writing that pulls you in from the beginning, and keeps your interest till the very end. This book has some great twists that I didn’t see coming, and it wasn’t predictable. I would recommend Little Secrets to anyone who loves a great thriller that you want to compulsively read.

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Marin and Derek are a couple whose marriage is rapidly deteriorating after their young son is abducted. Each handles the loss in a different manner, Derek becomes absorbed in his work, and Marin indulges in overwhelming grief. I loved this in-depth look into a fragile marriage. While I guessed the ending a little over a third of the way in, in no way was my enjoyment of the book diminished. I loved this book!

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for providing me with an advance copy to review.

Marin had the perfect life. Married to her college sweetheart, she owns a chain of upscale hair salons, and Derek runs his own company. They're admired in their community and are a loving family. Up until the day their son Sebastian taken. •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
A year later, Marin is a shadow of herself. The FBI search has gone cold. The publicity has faded. She and her husband rarely speak. The only thing keeping her going is the unlikely chance that one day Sebastian reappears. She hires a P.I. to pick up where the police left off, but instead of finding him, she discovers that Derek is having an affair with a younger woman.
As Marin sets a plan to confront her husband, another revelation surfaces. Derek's lover might know what happened to their son. And so might Derek.

This book was absolutely incredible. You thought ‘Jar of Hearts’ was great well this is better and that is saying something. I couldn’t put it down for a second and when I really, really had to I was thinking about it. Jennifer Hillier is one of my favourite authors, I was praying I got accepted for this and was over the moon when I did. This book will leave you completely floored. It was an absolute pleasure and honour to have read this. Highly recommended xxxx

Marin has it all, a great husband, a beautiful son, a luxury life and a thriving business. Her world seems perfect until 3 days before Christmas when her son, Sebastian, disappears in a crowded market. She only took her eyes off of him for a few seconds but that was all it took. Sixteen months later her life is a shell of what it once was. Her son is still missing with zero clues as to what happened to him. Marin's emotional and mental state are the lowest they have ever been with one suicide attempt already. Then she finds out her husband is cheating on her with a young, beautiful woman. Marin decides to make sure this young woman doesn't take her husband. What follows is a twisting, wild ride that will have you reading well into the night to finish this book. There are twists and turns that will have you gasping when you think you know what's about to happen but find out you were completely wrong. It keeps you guessing right up to the end. The author did a great job of bringing the characters to life and plotting out a twisted, crazy, sometimes very dark storyline.
Thank You Net Galley for an advanced copy of this book.

What a roller coaster! I had never read her books before but I've already checked out her last book. I wouldn't say this was high-quality literature but it was well-paced and in a book where there was already a lot going on with a missing child and a philandering husband, they look the time to really delve into the character of the woman who was having the affair with the husband and flesh her out which I thought was both unusual and welcome. The character of the ex-boyfriend Sal was a bit flatter to me but not horrible. I think it was on purpose to set up the big reveal but since they bothered to give us so much back story on the girlfriend, it seemed out of place. We also didn't get much background on the main character Marin; just what she was doing in the present. I would have liked to have known more about her childhood since we had learned it about every other character.

About 70% of the way through this book I woke up in the middle of the night and realized, “OMG! Xxx is xxx and xxx!” I won’t spoil it, but once I realized it I couldn’t wait to finish and see how it all wrapped up.

Marin and Derek seem to have the perfect marriage, including the perfect little boy, Sebastian. Their world falls apart when Bash is kidnapped. Sixteen months after the kidnapping they are both falling apart in their own way.

Instead of turning to each other, Marin turns to her best friend of over 20 years, Sal, while Derek turns to a much-younger Kenzie for comfort. Their relationships with these two are complicated to say the least.

The story deals with some ugly topics, and the characters aren’t always likeable, but the story is riveting and the book is a page turner.

I’ll definitely be recommending this one to friends!

Unbelievably captivating and thrilling, Little Lies is an unputdownable story of a woman on the edge whose living every mothers worst nightmare. I found this book to be fast paced, finishing it in one sitting. When I first read the description I was a bit weary because there are so many thriller out there that deal with child abductions but my god, this turned out to be completely out of the box. Hillier intricately weaved multiple storylines together to create such a diabolical and manipulative story filled with twists and turns that left me speechless. I found the writing to be beautifully done while also being powerful and emotional. With the characters, I found each to have such a strong story of their own. Let me just say that ending though!!!! OMG! Little Lie is a must read for 2020! Jennifer Hillier is 100% st her best with this one. I can't wait to see what she does next!

I would like to thank Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
