I loved this book! It's something that can easily be overlooked when we prioritize numerous friendships over deep friendships.

I received this book through Netgalley for review and all thoughts and opinions are my own.
With so many women references to their "tribe", gal pals, and other monikers; where do we start? In this book, Angela White uses the term "Yes, Sister" . These are women who build you uo, encourage and challenge you in a godly way to be the best you can be. Growing in faith is our goal as believers. She points to our need to forgive the naysayers and move toward other women who guide and help us grow.
Interesting, with wise advice.

This book is filled with empowerment for women. Every "Say Yes To","We CAN", and "We Are" starts the reader with an affirmation that good things are coming. I think the term Yes Sister perfectly describes what Angelia means when she distinguishes them from regular friends. Yes Sisters strike a balance of accepting you and pushing you out of your comfort zone so you can be your best self and achieve your dreams. After every chapter of the book there is a personal story from a Yes Sister. My challenge with books about finding your tribe or your Yes Sister, is that they set up a certain expectation. You read about women who have pushed and encouraged each other while keeping an intimate bond and you think "I want that!" So you start looking for your people and they never meet the expectation you had from reading the book. So while I enjoyed reading Yes Sister, I couldn't help thinking in the back of my head about how hard it can be to find women like the Yes Sisters described and how my own life experience has not matched up to the friendships that these women live. It makes me simultaneously happy for the women in the book and sad for myself who doesn't have that.

This is an interesting book written for women about developing friendships that can be encouraging and strength you spiritually. The author shares some of her own stories, which adds to the interest in this book. And maybe more importantly, she shows us how we can be a Yes Sister for someone else. This is a book that will help you think about the value of friendships and of being a true friend.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.

It's all about each other! Refreshing read that reminds us that we are in this together. Dee and I read it together and it strengthened the bonds we already had.

It really focuses on connecting with the right types of women who empower you to be your best, are happy for you when you succeed, and who never give up when the going gets tough.

We both give it a 4 star!

Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Angelia does a great job in this book defining who a Yes Sister is. While reading this book, it made me think about the friendships I have in my life. Am I surrounding myself with the right people? People who are in my corner? People who will point me to God and remind me who I am in Him? People who will challenge me to be the best version of me that I can be? There are several stories shared in this book of women who have been just that for their friends and the strength that has come as a result. The book also goes into no sisters, those people who may not be speaking life into us or encouraging us. Obviously, reading all of this also allows you to look at yourself and see if you're being that person for the yes sisters in your life. I enjoyed this book so much and if the quality of the book is judged by how many parts I highlighted, this was an excellent book. :) I would recommend this to anyone who feels they need to have better discernment on who they allow in their inner circle and also anyone who's trying to be the best friend they can be to other women.

Based on the book’s description I was hoping for a more “how-to” on navigating the world of increased empowerment as a Christian woman. Unfortunately, the book was more of a series of anecdotes (some of which were even fictional used). It fell short in my expectation in that regard.

I did, however, find some bright spots within the book (humor, encouragement for women to say yes to the important parts of life), and would recommend it to friends based on what I know now.

Thank you to NetGalley for a copy of this book to review.

An amazing read that serves as a reminder to have the right type of women in your life. These women should be able to encourage you, chastise you and want you to soar and life up to the potential God has placed in your life. Ms. White, along with other women in her circle, as well as the other contributors to the book give real life examples as to how these type of women are beneficial to your life. It's divided into 3 parts, but gives a complete and whole picture as to how to pray to have those type of women brought into your life. Definitely one of the best non fiction books I've read this year.

I got some good ideas about friends and those we place around ourselves from this book. It made me realize that I spend more time with people I am helping and not enough with people who love me back. It has caused a lot of introspection. I appreciate the tenacity and reliance on God that the author shared with us as she launched her magazine and hit after hit nearly made it fail. She showed us how people came alongside of her and helped her persevere. It's a prayer for all of us. May we all have good friends.

While I enjoyed reading this book, its subject is one with which I always feel something of a disconnect. I have never had really close female friends, so the whole idea of a group of Yes Sisters is totally foreign to me. I did enjoy reading the story of Angelia turning her dream into reality and also getting to read about certain events from the perspective of the "Yes Sister" who was involved in it with her. I can see this book being used in a women's ministry to encourage us to support one another in every area of life.

Yes Sisters is about the importance of having healthy and strong friendship with other women. It's about creating relationship able to make you grow and encourage you in every season of your life.
A friend who will be there to listen to you when you need it, who will pray for you and help you to fulfill God's plan for your life.

" A yes sister is a woman in your circle who believes in you, who offers encouragement, insights, love..."

Angelia has a dream God put in her heart to create a magazine, it's called HOPE For Women. Though it was not always easy God paved the way and surrounder
her with Yes sister who spoke life over her, over her dream. Angelia has a heart to empower women. This book is a real encouragement and it shows the importance of healthy relationship. Throughout life I have come to realize that relationship do two things they can build you up lead you to accomplish your purpose in life
or they can destroy you and leave you broken. In our generation I think it is important to be a light and encourage each others as women.
