This book follows the lives of four very different women all at different stages of their life. They travel to Lorna & Roy's holiday cottages in Cornwall where all the families come together.
Em - a mum of two with a new boyfriend, her children are not prepared for the sudden tag along of George and his young daughter (who kind of sounds like a nightmare) as the two families try to blend together.Lorna - still grieves for her son who died 20 years ago and struggles with her grief whilst running the holiday cottages with her partner Roy. A secret from the past may help her move on with the next chapter of her life.Maggie - a single mum of a teen, she feels the distance widening between her and her daughter. She also feels quite invisible and like she plods through life. Until her daughter wants to see her dad and Maggie re-evaluates her own happiness.
Then finally Olivia - a mum of two who feels the stress of looking after toddlers, fears she is like her own mum and possibly has some post natal issues. She has been having melt downs and has now left her family in desperation.
This is well written book, likeable, relatable characters dealing with real issues and life stages the characters have their flaws are flawed and they also have their strengths but is also nice to see each individuals hopes and fears. They all seem to have lost themselves along the way of life slightly and all delve into their pasts in different ways to confront issues and aim to find themselves in a happier place. A heartwarming and heartbreaking read that was hard to put down.

This book follows three women Em, Maggie and Olivia. All women with very different personalities and with vastly different current life statuses and journeys to be had.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and was unable to put it down. I dont think I have ever high lighted so much in a book before. In saying that I will not lie and say it was all for good reason.

At the start of the book I found some of the writing didnt quite flow or make sense to me. There was one particular paragraph that switched between first and third person POV which was weird because I didn't pick up on that happening again in the book at all.

Another thing was one particular line that seemed to be reused numerous times throughout the book which did get annoying as I felt something else just as interesting could have been used in its place after the first use of it was made.

Other than those minor qualms I enjoyed the writing and there was some really beautiful stand out lines in it for me.

The biggest thing I took away from this and that I really enjoyed was the relatability to these women. Although all of them being so different to each other with dissimilar problems going on i felt like I connect to each one of them for different reasons.

Although it was a nice light read there was still good twists and turns in the story that gave it that drama to keep you hooked in.

All in all this was a great book that I highly recommend and I will definitely be picking up another book by this author soon.
