I really enjoyed this book so much. It has a really great plot, superb main characters and I read it in one sitting. I would highly recommend this book.

Oh my goodness this book! It was utterly terrifying at times. No one else writes like lisa Gardner. A fantastic thriller for fans of dark, serial killer tales x

A superb book, easy to read, interesting characters and a very twisted plot. This is a follow on to “Look For Me” but can be read easily as a stand alone book. The outcome is partially visible but the depth of the issues only came to fruition at the very end. I wish that I could give this more than 5 stars as it was worth it.
Overall a compelling read that keeps the reader guessing as to the next move.
A fantastic author.

When You See Me is the type of thriller that comes along once in a blue moon! It’s dark, it’s full of chills and thrills and it’s fantastic! I absolutely fell in love with this book and can highly recommend.

I love DD Warren and I love Kimberley Quincy too so it is totally awesome that we have them both working together in this latest brilliant novel by Lisa Gardner. What a great storyline and great characters, especially little Bonita who breaks your heart. I loved this book.

When the discovery of a mass grave in the mountains suggests a serial killer. A team descends on a remote mountain township to investigate but things turn out to be more complex than first thought. It seems that the people maybe benefiting from some illegal business that is involved. With no one to trust and a wall of silence until more bodies are found as the killer acts to protect his interests. However one of his seemingly docile victims is waiting for an opportunity to bring him down. With a most unusual and unique caste of characters, how it all pans out makes a most exciting and fascinating read.

Bones are found in a shallow grave and this is believed to be the work of a famous serial killer Jacob Ness.
Detective D.D. Warren and her team are trying to find what lead up to this murder.
A young girl is being held by people who use her as a slave, she is mute because of an incident years ago that left her mother dead.
I found the story disjointed but enjoyable in parts.
Thank you to NetGalley and Random House UK, Cornerstone for my e-copy in exchange for an honest review.

This book is part of a detective series and I did feel disadvantaged at times that I had not read the previous books. The story begins in the past with the brutal murder of a mother in front of her child. Fast forward to the present where bones are discovered buried and it soon becomes apparent that a serial killer is on the loose. With many twists and turns the truth begins to emerge and the full.horror of the killings begins to surface. Fast moving at times where I was reluctant to put it down but then I would find the pace slow too much to a point I would skip through quickly to get to a more interesting part. Far too many characters for me, some unnecessary, which had me confused at times but the story line made up for it. Very well worth reading.

This book was amazing. It is a long time since I have been quite so interested by the characters and felt so involved. I must admit when I first started reading I almost gave up because it seemed so american but it drew me in like a good book should. The setting and storyline is very different which adds to the intrigue.
The characters were really well formed and the story line blew me away. I understand there are more books with DD and Kimberley which I will be investigating as they seem to be a great paring.
Thanks to Netgalley and Random House for the chance to read this book.

Another amazing book featuring Flora, Keith and DD by the talented Lisa Gardner! I couldn’t finish this book quick enough to find out what was happening to all those missing girls and how it was all linked to Flora! Amazingly written and I could not put it down!

This is the first book in this series that I have read and I will definitely be reading the others. Lisa Gardener never disappoints with her ability to keep the reader gripped until the very end.

Flora is back with Keith at her side. She doesn't know where their relationship is going but she going to take slow. Sgt Warren needs their help on a case that could involve Jacob Ness. Flora hopes that it isn't true but they have never been able to find the cabin where she was kept. Could this be her chance to find it? She knows something is wrong in the town and she just knows that Jacob was there and she just hopes that they don't find too many victims. Will her & Keith be able to put the pieces together and bring peace to the victims families? Another great read in the series. We definitely needed to know why Flora was taken to the cabin but it is sad in a way as she could have been saved earlier. I was lucky enough to receive a copy from netgalley and the publishing house in exchange for my honest review.

The books in this series just get better and better. The stories are always well written, complex tales that somehow manage to be stand alone stories but also weave back into the larger story being told throughout the whole series. That's a very hard things to achieve but Lisa Gardner manages to due it superbly.

Lisa Gardner is such a good writer and this is another great murder mystery thriller in the DD Warren series and it’s definitely worth reading the earlier books to fully understand the character dynamics and back stories. There are 11 so you’re in for a treat! Although, this could also be read as a stand-alone.

DD Warren is a police detective and this storyline has her involved in an FBI task force, along with some specialist civilians following the discovery of a body in a remote area of woodland.
What follows is well written with some excellent twists and turns. It’s a solid thriller with characters that feel like friends and I thoroughly enjoyed the strong female roles and especially the character of Bonita, a mute young girl, victim of a terrible experience and written with such care and empathy. A heartbreaking character with such strength and soul.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for the opportunity to preview.

I have read a few of Lisa Gardner books and enjoy them all. I can find them difficult to get into but once hooked the read is easy. This book has loads of twist and turns and leaves you guessing to the end.

Thank you to Netgalley for allowing me to read this pre-publication edition.
Thriving..not just surviving"....is this where the Duchess of Sussex found her lines?
The plot of Gardner's novel is actually interesting and, at times, compelling, but the author is always present as a puppeteer of the characters.
The word I think best describes the story is "uneven". At times I was riveted by the action then abruptly reminded that it was just a story by banal description and seemingly irrelevant detail. Characters were elaborately described only to disappear entirely; or a new and significant character would emerge unannounced. The core characters are great but obviously are expected to live (for tne next book?) as they endure injury and near-death experiences. The narration is diverse: first person, the non-verbal young maid then Flora, Kimberley, D.D: so many and for little purpose.
In essence this is a crime procedural, at its worst, predictable and at best, gripping. For readers who enjoy Gardner this may be a welcome read but for me, it disappointed.

When the remains of a body is discovered in the hills of Georgia, Sergeant Detective D.D. Warren, Flora Dane and Keith Edgar make the journey to a little town called Niche. Here they join FBI Special Agent Kimberly Quincy and her special task force as the remains might link to Flora Dane's kidnapper Jacob Ness.

The chapters alternate between the point of views of D.D., Kimberly, Flora and a mute teenager: 'Girl'. Girl describes a 'bad man' that could be Jacob Ness, but with more and more bodies turning up in the hills, Niche isn't the quiet small town it seems to be.

Lisa Gardner has done it again: the plot twists and turns in this story, that is fast paced and captivating. Making Girl an unexpected, brave hero and for Flora to finally start letting the trauma of Jacob Ness go and thrive in life.

A body is found near a small town in America , The FBI is called to Investigate this and because it bears similarities to a kidnapping and imprisonment of a girl (Flora ) who managed to escape a number of years ago the likely perpetrator was the man (Jacob Ness) who Flora killed in her escape . Flora and her friend Keith , who is a computer expert ,are also brought in as Civilian advisers . The FBI approach the Mayor of the town and his wife who run a small B&B and it becomes apparent things are not as they appear . They have a mute girl working for them who knows a lot but is unable to communicate to anyone . Maids who she has worked with have gone missing overnight with no explanation . The mayors wife is found hanged , but is it suicide as first thought ?
It transpires she had an illegal kidney transplant and conveniently the Doctor who did it is now dead . Flora and Keith visit a loner living in a remote ranch and find out he was Jacob Ness's father . Meanwhile the bodies build up and suspicion falls on an awful lot of people in the town . It all comes together nicely in the end but just who is and isn't involved , to what degree , I will leave you to find out .
