I enjoy the Reapers. I think that Daeth had brought a unique element to the Dragon Kings and the future of the series. This was Kyra and Dubhan story. Kyra is a great character, very strategic.

Each book in the Reaper series gets better and better. Donna Grant does a wonderful job building the characters and the Fae world. I couldn't put the book down until I finished it.

Right off I'm going to say, I did not go in reading order of the Dark Kings and Reapers. There is a Dark Kings book that has a lot of crossover to Dark Alpha's Temptation so I felt like there were a few missing pieces. Just enough that I noticed, but not enough that it ruined the story.

Kyra is special. She can change her appearance and see the Reapers when they're veiled to name a few. Kyra has spotted Dubhan and is following him around. He is fascinated by her when he puts it together that she can see him.

Special symbols are found on a bookstore and the two begin to research them. They seem to have meaning related to Reapers and must be investigated. Kyra and Dubhan get some help from a couple of people that doesn't end well. Also, they come across some Fae that seem to have abilities that the Reapers haven't anticipated.

I found Kyra to be a fun and interesting female main character. The connection between her and Dubhan was pretty quick and he didn't seem to have as many reservations as some of the other Reapers to hold him back.

The Others strength and abilities are growing while we progress to a confrontation. Kyra gets a surprise and must make an important decision. All the Reapers, Death & Cael watch in interest to what she will decide.

This couple and their adventure was a great installment. Surprises, action and romance kept me listening so attentively. Some people say it is ok to read on it's own, but I can't agree with that. It is on a different story arc, but I can't see someone just jumping in. If I did this differently I also would have read the Dark Kings and this series in reading order. I think that would make me connect with the book even more.

I rated this book a 4 star on GoodReads 3 years ago but didn't write a formal review. I thought I would leave the rating and move it off my. shelf.

Grant returns to the world of the Fae and her Dragon Kings, directly after the shocking events of the last Dragon King book (Fever) and we are all still in a lot of awe of the way that story went down. That being said there was really no telling where she was going to be taking us in this next Reaper novel so we were all on the edges of our seats waiting quite impatiently to find out just what’s next. Grant has a magical skill with her ability to interweave all of her series and characters into the beautiful tapestry of the world that emerges from her imagination and with each story it just becomes more and more elaborate and amazing to readers. Dubhan and Kyra’s story is no less than previous stories for being a bit shorter than I would have liked. There was plenty of the expected drama and heartache, but I would have loved more time for them to build their relationship a bit more slowly. Kyra witnessed something she never should have one chilly Irish morning at the Light palace and has been obsessed with the man—and his comrades to an extent—that she saw that day fighting the beasts she never believed existed. Dubhan knows he’s being followed but can’t quite pin down the elusive fae until finally she slips up and he catches the female that has been haunting his steps for far longer than he realized. Soon he realizes that she might be the key to uncovering the truth of the Others and finding a way to defeat them, but bringing her into the fold puts her directly into the path of Death and only with a bit of sneaky and well-planned action can they stay alive and together. I really enjoyed Kyra’s cockiness and her ability to lead Dubhan on a wild chase, but under all that she had a vulnerability and need to belong that made her the perfect match for him. She was a woman that definitely needed to find her true purpose and being able to assist in the battle to end all battles is one that definitely gives her something to sink her teeth into. Her interactions with Death were hilarious and showed that sass can be endearing at times, but I also enjoyed seeing her and Dubhan as they worked together to find solutions to the puzzles that were put before them. Dubhan was a male that has some problems, mainly that he got caught and has been followed without his knowledge for a long-time, not a good thing for a Reaper. He was an alpha badass like you would expect from any Reaper, but his warrior arrogance didn’t overpower his willingness to use his brain and recognize that Kyra was the best person for the job despite her not being fully into his world yet. I enjoyed seeing him embrace her fully and find a way to make her one of them and he shows her that she was loved and needed as more than just a resource; when her world turned upside-down, in the end she was able to lean on him and he gave her all the support she could ever need. The passion between these two was there from the very beginning, even when they didn’t even realize the other was there consciously, but when they come together the conflagration truly is a sight to see. I loved every second of this short novella and I am DYING to see what comes next in this crazy world of Fae, Warriors, Druids, and Dragon-shifters, not to mention all the other amazing creatures that seem to cross their paths. The battle seems to be getting only more and more complicated and there doesn’t seem to really be an end in sight (YAY!) which means there can only be more greatness to come.

This is the ninth book in the Reaper's series. This book uncovers something new that will lead to an upcoming battle. It's a solid installment in the series.

This book was so entertaining. I was drawn into the story from the beginning and was involved until the end. The characters were complex and interesting. I found the story to be well paced and engrossing throughout the whole book. I was invested in the couple throughout the book and felt all the emotions through both the highs and lows of the story. The side characters were such an integral part of this story as well. This is the love story i needed to read at this time. If you want an entertaining and well written book this is it for you

Another great read from Ms. Grant. This is the 9th book in the Reaper series and I truly enjoyed it. Looking forward to more of these Dragon Kings. Kyra and Dubham make a wonderful couple and there are even more secrets to unfold. 4 solid stars

When a being is used to being an elite boogieman for the power fae, it make come as a surprise when the tables turn. Dubhan is one of Death's reapers. He is good at his job and currently, it is all hands on deck to figure out what the Others are planning and to see if they will play a part in the big showdown the Dragon Kings will have against their mysterious foes.

Being a reaper provides Dubhan with the ability to move around unseen. When Kyra is able to follow him around, this shocks him and others. What is it about Kyra that makes her so special? Other than her sometimes ill advised snarky attitude to Death? If Kyra really knew more about Death, I think she would step a little more lightly around the leader of this supernatural SWAT team.

I have to confess, of all the books in this series, this one is not as memorable as the others. It is a sweet read as all of Ms. Grant's books. The characters are fun as they try to understand each other through various miscommunications. Their initial wariness is quickly replaced with admiration and yearning. Will it be possible to be together? Or will their worlds tear them apart? Yes, a bit melodramatic but a reoccurring theme in this series.

What I was hoping to see was more enlightenment on the Others. I was also hoping to find out if the reapers will ally with the Dragons and that we would see some more battles. This provides some good hints of what will come. The storyline just feels a bit drawn out. I am eager to read the next book in this series. Recommended to paranormal romance readers who enjoy the battle between good versus evil.

Dubhan & Kyra's installment. Not a whole helluva lot of forward progression on the overall story arc, felt almost like filler.

Another good instalment in the Reaper series. A quick overall read, but it wasn't;t quite as tense and impactful as some of the others. I liked Kyra and Dubham and their journey. Grant has an easy to follow and engaging writing style.

Immediately I was drawn to Dubhan and Kyra. They were both interesting and had either quirks or traits that were unique of all the characters I'd yet met and what brought them together was also very unique. Not many of the Reapers struggle too hard or too long with their attraction and affection. I actually prefer when they use their millennia of experience to see that what they're experiencing is singular and extraordinary and therefore don't shunt it to the side or deny it. There are reasons for delaying and often a process to reconcile their past betrayals with their current situations, but when it hijacks the story I'm not a fan. That doesn't happen here beyond the one side character they have in common.

Kyra's honesty was refreshing. It took a little while for all her secrets to be revealed, but her openness with her thoughts and feelings was endearing. I'm in love with her. Her insight and resolute adherence to speaking what truths and opinions she had was an incredible strength and boon to all involved in the war. For her to get Erith to see beyond her seemingly narrow view of her duty and involvement was an amazing feat that I longed to see. I was so glad Kyra was the one to shed essential light on the truth so oft overlooked by Death.

Dubhan's past was painful, of course, but I think I would have liked a little more detail about it. When he was telling his story it felt like he was telling someone else's story and the connection wasn't as visceral as it could have been. There was more feeling when discussing Max than his own family's betrayal. His family's involvement in the overall enemy's plans could have been a bit more detailed as well, but I was satisfied that we got what we got.

This is kind of a standalone, but we're to the point in the related series, Dark Kings, that it's really best to have read either the full Dark World books or at the very least, the Reapers' stories. There are too many hints, implications, questions, and consequences being brought to the fore here in this story that I couldn't recommend it as a standalone romance. As a part of a series and a world, this is one of my favorite!

For years now, Kyra has been searching for her missing aunt. Her aunt was all the family she had left and finding her was a mission she could not turn her back on. When the light fae spotted one of the infamous reapers, she knew he could help her. Dubhan couldn't understand why the pretty light fae kept on appearing where ever he was. How could she see him? He knows he will stop at nothing to fulfill his mission against the others, but as Kyra continues to interfere he'll need to battle his desire for her as well. Kyra's light is a spotlight on his darkness. The passion between them is combustible and while her past is clearly a piece of their missing puzzle, he will not let her need for closure to become the death of her. Dark Alpha's Temptation is another reaper romance filled with sexual chemistry, battle, secrets, betrayal, and love. The closer we get to the truth, the harder it will be to let go of this world of fantasy that Donna Grant has created. A fun read for sure!

DARK ALPHA’S TEMPTATION is book nine in the Reapers series by Donna Grant. As a fan of this world, I do think it’s worth reading the books in order. However, I do find that you can still enjoy the romances well on their own.

This particular features Kyra and Dubhan, which are two characters that I’ve really come to enjoy. I find that Grant’s characters tend to be very consistent so if you like one couple you’re bound to like the others as well. She just writes really admirable characters who are easy to like. Plus, I really like the mysterious backstory that Dubhan and some of the other Reapers have. Her heroes aren’t as alpha as some other PNR books out there, but they are definitely still interesting enough that you want to keep reading.

As always, Grant infuses this romance with several other plots that intertwined with the other books. So if you’re a fan of extensive worldbuilding then you’ll probably enjoy this book. I always find these books such a pleasure to read, so I would highly recommend them if you’re a fan of Lara Adrian’s Midnight Breed series. I look forward to reading more books from Grant.

At this point, I am pretty invested in this series. I love the relationships that Grant has developed between the characters and their love interests, I love seeing glimpses of those that I have met in previous books and seeing how direction this war is going. This book did not disappoint in those aspects. There was plenty of action, adventure, and steam.

All that being said, this was a slower read for me than the other books have been. I am not really sure that the reason for that was. I loved the story the Grant developed in this one and the relationship between Kyra and Dubhan made me really happy.

Dark Alpha's Temptation was my first romance novel about Reaper's. I wasn't quite sure if I'd like it, but I kept my mind open and I''m so glad that I gave this a try! Donna Grant sure knows how to pull in her audience. I am hooked and can't wait for another book!. I highly recommend!
