The last book in the Harbored Secrets series. Pecca Gallegos lives in Walton, Georgia with her young son, Maceo. She has moved them there to run from her past, and Macoe's father's gang connections. Pecca loves the town, the people and her job there. She is a rehab nurse at Homes For Heroes. She has came to care a great deal for her patients there-all there with injuries from their time serving our country.
Then, she gets a new and difficult patient, Colton Crawford, whom some of the residents like to refer to as, 'Cap,' due to his military title.
After several strange things occur, Pecca realizes her life is in danger and that those were not coincidences. Her ex-husband is in prison. She has walked away from that life and came here to begin anew with Maceo. What would the gang want from her? Why is her life threatened? She and Colton become closer (no surprise, huh?), and he wants to protect her and her son, but how can he be of any use to anyone with his disability. Can Pecca help him to see past his disability and to realize it does not define him?
Although, this book is the third and final one in the series, it is great as a stand-alone. So, please, don't hesitate reading this one if you haven't yet read the previous two. You won't be disappointed.
I was given a complimentary of this book to read by the publisher Revell, and Netgalley, and was under no obligation to leave a positive review. But...how could I not? It's a great story!

Silent Shadows by Natalie Walters has Pecca Gallegos living in Walton, Georgia with her son, Maceo. She moved to get her son away from the dangerous life of his father who is currently in prison. Pecca works as a rehabilitation nurse at Home for Heroes where the men who occupy D-Wing just love her. Her latest patient, though, is a different story. Captain Colton Crawford and Pecca get off to a rough start. Colton has a movement disorder that has drastically changed his life. Doctors have been unable to cure or find the cause. Dr. Mike Kelly and his treatments are Colton’s last hope. Colton is drawn to Pecca and her friendly son, Maceo. After dinner at the local café, someone takes pot shots at Pecca. Someone from Pecca’s past is after her. Colton works to uncover who is behind the attacks and to keep Pecca along with Maceo safe. Silent Shadows is the third book in the Harbored Secrets series, but it can be read on its own (but, really, why would you want to). We do get a visit from recurring characters along with new ones. I thought Silent Shadows was well-written with complex, realistic characters. I did find the pacing a little slow in the beginning, but it soon picks up with the action. I admit that it does feel like a medical romance until bad things start to happen. The story then draws you in as Pecca finds herself in danger. She wants to keep her son safe and needs Colton’s help to do it. I enjoyed the older veteran’s in D-Wing. They were a delight and added humor to this intense story. I was confused as to Pecca’s profession. We are told she is a nurse, but she also oversees the patient’s physical therapy. Online sleuthing led me to rehabilitation nurses (nurse practitioners and clinical nurses may sub-specialize in this field). I felt bad for Colton as he dealt with his movement disorder. It seemed so painful and uncontrollable. I can see why Colton was frustrated. I thought Home for Heroes sounded like a wonderful place and I hope such places exist int he real world for our amazing veterans. The mystery is challenging because it is not what you expect. I liked figuring out who was the bad guy. The attraction between Colton and Pecca was obvious (very palpable). Maceo is such a cutie and it is obvious he needs and wants a male role model in his life (one he likes football and Marvel comics is preferred). Silent Shadows has intrigue, danger, action, humor, faith, secrets, action and romance. I enjoyed the epilogue that nicely wrapped up Silent Shadows and the Harbored Secrets series. Silent Shadows is an intriguing novel with football fanatics, Marvel mania, a deadly destroyer, vigilant veterans, a chronic condition, a nurturing nurse, and a surprising secret.

This story was great because of the characters. There’s action, twists, and all the elements you’d expect in a romantic suspense. But it was the characters that made this book stand out. The heroine and hero are real and flawed. The secondary characters are real and not 2D props. There is such hope too. Loved this book.

The third and final installment in the "Harbored Secrets" series, we once again revisit Walton, Georgia; a tight knit and caring community - but where danger can still find you.

Pecca Gallegos and her 7 year old son Maceo are in Walton to create a safe space and life that's as far as possible from the gang ties of Maceo's father. She works as a rehab nurse, helping military veterans at the Home for Heroes. When Captain Colton Crawford arrives to become Pecca's new client, he is struggling to accept any part of his current diagnosis and situation. He initially finds common ground with Maceo, but when it turns out Pecca might be in danger his protective instincts kick in and they begin to spend more time together.

With fun characters, mystery and danger elements, and even some surprise reveals towards the end, this is a great wrap up to the series. I think it may be my favorite of the three! Although some characters from previous books make appearances, this can still be read as a standalone.

I was provided a complimentary copy of this book from Revell Publishers in exchange for my honest review.

I can’t believe it’s already time for this series to come to an end. I’ve so enjoyed Natalie Walter’s writing, and can’t wait to see what she brings us next. This book is written like one of your girlfriend’s is telling you her best friend’s love story just before you meet her. It never feels forced or outlandish and has just the right amount of humor and intrigue.

Pecca is the gorgeous, unassuming heroine, and Colton is the mysterious, rough around the edges hero. Sound typical? This story is anything but. Someone is out to hurt Pecca, and Colton’s military background makes him just the right guy to help. Except his body is betraying him, and he is Pecca’s patient. Through healing and heartbreak, these two could be a match made in heaven, or it could all disastrously fall apart.

Walters has a knack for writing unique stories with an important mental element. While many authors don’t want to touch mental illness with a 10-foot pole, Natalie does it in such a natural and profound way. I really commend her for tackling hard conversations with such tact and ease.

One of my favorite parts of this book was the large part Maceo played in Pecca and Colton’s relationship. Often, children in books are glossed over or seen as an inconvenience. I love how Pecca’s love for her son drove her decisions, and how Maceo played a role in Colton’s transformation. Plus, he was such a sweet and likeable kid/character!

This was definitely my favorite book in the series. Walter’s couldn’t have had us depart Walton on a better not if she tried. Pecca and Colton are characters you hang onto for a long time to come. I hope we get to see them again!

Pecca Gallegos moved to the tiny town of Walton, Georgia, to protect her son and escape the dangerous lifestyle that once defined her. When a series of strange circumstances evolve into threats, Pecca finds herself confiding in an unlikely ally--her stubborn patient.

Army veteran Colton Crawford is desperate to recover from the undiagnosed disorder that is ruining his life, and his instincts are on high alert when threats against his nurse and her son force him to take action. But Colton's involvement only ramps up the danger when he uncovers a family secret revealing that whoever is after Pecca is closer--and more deadly--than they realized.

Pecca is hiding from her past. She was involved with a gang member when she was a teenager. The result was her son. She would do anything to protect him. Now it seems her past is catching up to her. Someone is trying to kill her. She thinks it is because her ex boyfriend is up for parole. Pecca works at Hope for Hero's as a nurse. There she meets Colton, a former special ops officer. He is trying to learn to live his undiagnosed problem that leaves him with a shaking hand that leads to excruciating and debilitating pain.

I enjoyed this book. It was fast paced with a great mystery. It also highlighted the problem soldiers face when they have disabilities. This is the third book in the series. It is not necessary to read the first two books to follow this one. The characters from the first two are mentioned in this book. The first two books were good so I recommend you read all three if you enjoy a good mystery.

I was given this book by Revell Publishing via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated in any way.

I enjoy reading romantic suspense fiction. This is part of a series, but could be read alone. It follows the lives of the residents of Walton, GA. Pecca has become a favorite of mine. She was such a fun character and she and Colton’s story kept me guessing until the end. I was shocked and didn’t figure out the ending until the author revealed it! To me a book is very well written suspense if that can happen. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did. And Maceo is just a precious young boy! I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions stated here are my own.

I love stories set in small towns and I love a good romance. This book delivers both. Silent Shadows by Natalie Walters is the third book in the series. Although, it was slow to start, the more I read it, the more I enjoyed it. Being a nurse myself, I can relate to Pecca. The story is a good, clean read that just makes you feel good. It’s a story of love and second chances. I can’t wait to read more from this author.

Silent Shadows, by Natalie Walters, is an interesting tale, with a bit of mystery and unknown thrown in along the way. Pecca Gallegos is a nurse working with patients needing both physical and mental rehabilitation. Colton Crawford is an Army veteran in need of assistance with his undiagnosed condition, caused during his years fighting overseas. Colton is having trouble performing functions needed in everyday life. His body will just not work correctly to perform normal activities!

Just when Pecca begins to make progress with Colton; unfortunately, her past shows up to bring uncertainty and fear into her life. After her son, Maceo, was born, Pecca left her life in Texas to find a safe place to raise her son. Pecca's life in Georgia has been quiet for years; however, signs keep showing up indicating that her former life is following her to this new safe location!

As you try to put the pieces together to discover who is behind this aggressive activity, you will not believe who the culprit is. You wonder if Pecca will ever be able to find a life of safety. The individual responsible is closer to Pecca than you ever would have imagined!

New to me author but she drew my attention because of the suspense in with this. Now I also have to find time to squeeze in the first two of this also. Could relate also familiar with Georgia lol. We follow Pecca whom will have danger knocking. Thank goodness for Colton whom though he helps also opens a keg of more danger. As we go along in this one we devour the mystery and suspense along with the romance. The story keeps you engaged with you not wanting to miss a clue. There is also a bit of humor sprinkled in this that evens it out. Really enjoyed this one.

This was such a gripping and enthralling story. It grabbed me from the first page and I couldn't put it down.
These characters were relatable and I felt like I really knew them.
This was an awesome suspense and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

I enjoyed this story about Pecca and Colton. Colton is struggling with a movement disorder but is able to see past that to help another person who is struggling, Pecca’s son, Maceo. Maceo and Colton bond over a shared love for football.
Pecca, Colton’s nurse, came up with creative ways to help Colton in therapy. When she finds herself in danger, Colton becomes the protector….or at least he wants to be. There’s a mystery as to why Pecca is in danger. There are surprises and betrayals, danger and urgency. It was a good read.
I especially enjoyed the camaraderie between the servicemen in D wing. Their friendly competition, banter, and advice was pretty entertaining.
Thank you to Revell for providing me with a free e-copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

Natalie Walters has completed her Harbored Secrets Series with a DYNAMIC finish! Each of the books is set in small town Walton, Georgia, where everyone knows your name — but no one knows your secret. Throughout this series, Walters has shared the stories of several very dark people who are desperately trying to hide their dastardly deeds from the outside world. She has balanced those characters with ordinary people who go to extraordinary lengths to do the right thing and help others regardless of the cost. SILENT SHADOWS is the dynamic story of single mom, Pecca Gallegos & her son Maceo. Though Pecca is running from her dark secrets, the two of them have endeared themselves to the people in the small town of Walton. Pecca excels at her job as a Rehabilitation Nurse at Home for Heroes a rehabilitation facility for veterans. While most of the patients are older, a new guy comes to town running from his own dark secrets. Captain Colton Crawford is rough around the edges and everyone and everything seem to get caught in his sticker bush attitude. In spite of his gnarly attitude, the skills he used in the Army continue be razor sharp. When he senses something is out of the norm with Pecca, he doesn’t hesitate to step in and take action. It’s a good thing this ordinary man is available for extraordinary tasks! This book is guaranteed to keep you up all night turning the pages! I was provided a complimentary copy of this book by Revell & NetGalley. The opinions expressed here are completely my own and without influence.

While much of this story does not seem very realistic, it is a sweet romance filled with intrigue. The author carries the theme of God's allowing tough times in order to take us to a better place in our lives, a much needed concept in our current times. Some readers of Christian fiction may feel as if Natalie Walters skirted the borders of the genre, but I do feel that overall they will appreciate the story, writing style and message.

I am grateful to have received a copy of Silent Shadows from Revell via NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion. I was under no obligation to provide a positive review, and received no monetary compensation.

So a month or so ago I won the first two books in the Harbor Secrets series by Natalie Walters. I had never read any of her books before, but some of my favorite authors recommended her so I had a feeling she would be good. I was not disappointed. When I saw Silent Shadows available on NetGalley, I knew I had to request it. Pecca and Colton’s story has all the right twists and turns to keep you engaged from the first page to the last. In the midst of trying to determine who exactly is coming after Pecca, she and Colton must decide if the feelings they have for each other are strong enough to fight the leftover pain of past hurts and enduring enough to handle the tough times ahead. You don’t want to miss third novel, Silent Shadows, in the Harbor Secrets series by Natalie Walters. #SilentShadows #NetGalley

I really loved everything about Silent Shadows. It is the perfect mix of romance and suspense with some really lovable main and secondary characters. The humor is spot on and the writing style makes you want to keep reading. I’m really sad that this series is over!

I really liked both main characters. I felt so bad for what Colton was going through physically, and how it made him question himself. I wanted to cry for him on more than one occasion. My favorite thing about him was his drive to help people, especially Maceo! And speaking of Maceo, one of my favorite things in this story is the relationship between him and Colton. I loved that kid. Pecca was perfect for Colton. Her sense of humor totally won me over. Finally, the suspense was so well done. It started out slowly and ramped up to a heart pounding climax at the end.

With each story, Natalie Walters just keeps getting better! I hated to see this series end. So looking forward to whatever Ms. Walters brings us next!

I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

This is the third book in the Harbored Secrets series that takes place in Walton, Georgia. This romantic suspense series is absolutely fantastic! If you are looking for a suspenseful book, I highly recommend you read this entire series. With each book, Ms. Walters provides readers with situations that are action-packed and adrenaline rushed. This book focuses on Pecca, her son, and her patient. Colton gets involved and is trying to discover what is occurring with Pecca and her son. Pecca is afraid her past life is causing her current problems. However, Colton wants to help protect her. In this fast-paced book, readers will be transported to Walton, Georgia to discover what secrets are harbored. Readers will not be disappointed as they journey through Pecca’s ordeal. I highly recommend this book (and series) and do not believe you will be disappointed!

Oh my word! What a fabulous conclusion to a stunning series! First off, I have to say I totally claim Pecca as my fictional bestie. Okay, now that that’s settled I can continue to gush about the story. This novel hooked me from page one and held my attention until the satisfying ending. Friends, that meet-cute is hands down one of my favorites ever. It just doesn't get better than a fierce mama and “stranger danger” (You’ll get my meaning when you read it **winks**) And let us pause for the appreciation of the wounded hero- Colton Crawford. I mean, the broodiness coupled with a protective edge had me fanning my face. This story had some intense scenes but it also had major LOL moments. Pecca’s dancing! The soap on the floor! The banter! The three decorated veterans. Those guys reminded me of those fun folks in the movie Return to Me. I just adored them! I usually pride myself in being able to deduce the mystery but this one had me guessing and guessing! I loved the twists and turns. And the romance was Swoon Swoon Swoon. So yeah, I’ll quit my excessive gushing and you can do yourself a favor and go nab this gem. I received a copy from the author. All these opinions are my own.

The author does a great job of weaving together some romance along with an element of danger that lurks in the background.
Pecca is a nurse working at home for wounded veterans. There is instant attraction to one of her patients, Colten. But Pecca's first priority is to her son who lives with a disability of his own.
Then dangers begin threaten the peaceful little town where Pecca thought and hoped would be safe from her gang related past. The plot thickens putting more people in dangers. Can everyone make it out alive? Can Pecca and Colton have a futher together?
