This is a sweet story of a city-dwelling girl's first camping trip. Beautiful illustrations accompany straight-forward text that perfectly describes the experience of camping (especially that packing up is harder than unpacking). I love the supportive and understanding family who don't tease the girl, but help her adjust and find the joy in trying new things.

So cute! A little girl goes camping with her aunt and cousin. It's quite realistic, and the illustrations are adorable.

I really enjoyed this book and it would be a great read for children before they go on their first camping trip! It shows them what they might need to take, the fun that they can have and how different it will be for them to be sleeping away from home and in the outdoors.

The images were nice and worked well with the story. I liked how it told you how to make Smores too and they look yummy – the perfect treat for camping! It is 5 stars from me for this one – well written, great images and a good story! Very highly recommended!!

Simply delightful illustrations! It's brimming with that nostalgic summer vacation feel we all had as children. This is just the escape we all need right now.

City girl meets the woods in this delightful adventure. Ernestine has never been camping until her Aunt Jackie and cousin Samantha invite her on a camping trip of a life time. She asks the help of her father to get all the things she will need. She is excited for her new adventure.

Camping is hard work which Ernestine finds out in no time. The way you do things at home is not the same way you do things in the woods. Like swimming, eating and sleeping. She finds out that she misses her dad and her home until her aunt shows her something of the woods that she will never see in the city.

The illustrations are fun and gives children that have never been camping a adventure of their own and maybe a taste for camping that they can experience. Such a fun book! Highly recommend.
