A fun book about a bear who is just looking to have a little fun with his friends. How much trouble could one little teddy bear get into? Turns out there is a lot to get into when you have a whole school to explore, and a bunch of stuffed animal friends.
I would highly recommend this to preschool and kindergarten aged children.
Cute illustrations.

He's baaack! That's right, that trouble-making teddy has returned and, no surprise, he's making trouble again. After causing all that ruckus at home, teddy has made his way to school by hiding in his child's backpack. But not for long. Teddy and all the other stuffies who have secretly come to school via backpacks, wait until the kids were at assembly and make their escape. Beginning at the cafeteria, followed by a trip to the gym, and the music room, then into the teachers' lounge, and finally the art room creating havoc everywhere they go. The stuffies try to make their escape from school via pipe cleaners, but end up in the principal's office instead and in big trouble...maybe. The story and the stuffie crimes are narrated by the principal while addressing the owners of the naughty toys. But, let's face it, stuffies are really cute and it turns out this principal has a soft spot for stuffed teddies. This book is laughs all the way though. I especially liked the portrayal of the teachers' lounge - would that they were really like that. The digitally created illustrations are fun and colorful and really manage to capture the glee on the faces of the stuffies as they create mayhem and mess (I may never eat sloppy joes again). I zoom read this to my young readers and they loved it.

Oh no! The student who owns a teddy bear has been called to the principal’s office. Not because they have done something wrong, but because their teddy bear has. How mischievous has teddy been? Quite.

That very morning teddy contacted all his stuffed animal friends and then they all sneaked into the kid’s backpacks. While the kids are learning the stuffed friends do all sorts of rascally things, such as making a mess at the cafeteria. Doesn’t sound bad on the surface, but when it includes writing their names on the walls with mustard and ketchup then it’s whole other story. Perhaps if they hadn’t gone to the gym and tied up the coach with a jump rope the principal may not have been all the upset. Or if they hadn’t poured a bottle of bubbles into… well, you get the idea.

While I liked the book, the adult in me thought a little more was needed to round out the story. Initially, my confusion started at the beginning by wondering why the student was in the office. Was the student the real culprit and the teddy just who they had used as an excuse? It turns out the instigator really is teddy. But then, I also would have liked to have seen teddy and friends experience some consequences for their actions. Perhaps the principal should have asked teddy and friends to help clean up, which is actually how I thought the story would end. Yes, teddy is called to the principal’s office, but I guess I’m not sure I agree with teddy looking really cute, which then helps him skirt out of any consequences for his actions.

The illustrations are very humorous, filled with many pastel colors or if not pastel, then they are still given a light-touch to them. I suspect many young kids will find this book really funny and expect a chuckle or two from them.

A teddy bear and some stuffed friends tag along to school and gets into all sorts of trouble in the cafeteria, gym, and art class. What will the Principal say? I though this was a very cute story and children would find it relatable and so much fun. The illustrations by Scott Nash are classic and so so good. I think many children would love this story.

Dunn's story is cute and the illustrations are wonderful, except there are two ways the story could be taken. On one hand, it's a fantastic story showing children that when they get in trouble and someone is angry with them, they are angry about the behavior, not the person (although, unfortunately this is not the case for many children). On the other hand, it's a horror story about a toy stuffed bear who somehow manages to contact all the other kids' stuffed toys and they proceed to wreck havoc at the school. If I had read this as a child, I would never look at my stuffed toy the same way.

Teddy was the instigator of all of this. Somehow he managed to arrange for all of the children’s stuffed animals to hitch a ride to school today. From there they caused mayhem far and wide, from the mess that was formerly the cafeteria to their imaginative use of the finger paint.

They even managed to solve the mystery of what goes on behind the doors of the teachers’ lounge.

This story is really cute and Scott Nash’s illustrations are adorable. The pictures depicting the hijinks of Teddy and his friends are colourful and the stuffed animals are very expressive.

This would have been a five star book for me if not for one problem - the lack of consequences for bad behaviour. Yes, they’re stuffed animals and are just so cuddly, but when Teddy gets a hug and told he didn’t really mean to cause such a ruckus, it’s a bit of a worry.

If you see the faces of these stuffed toys as they’re rampaging through the school, they don’t appear to care about the consequences. They just want to do what they want, when they want to do it. Young readers may have trouble understanding why they have consequences for their bad behaviour when Teddy doesn’t.

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Candlewick Press for the opportunity to read this book. I’m rounding up from 3.5 stars.

My students will absolutely love this funny, heartwarming tale. The illustrations are wonderful, and the things that the teddy gets into throughout the story will be completely relatable to elementary-aged children. I cannot wait to share this!

When your teddy bear comes with you to school and also everyone else's stuffies come too, what trouble will they get into? A fun and silly story. The illustrations are colourful and detailed. Not an instant favourite, but a fun read nonetheless.

This was a cute story that would be perfect for reading at bedtime with your kids. Mischievous stuffed animals covertly invade school and wreak havoc, led by a teddy bear. The principal is in her office, reading off their misdeeds as she recounts the goings on of the day. In the end, just as you think punishment will be delivered, the principal remembers her own teddy bear and shows mercy to the entire mischievous bunch. It's a fun read that young children will surely enjoy.

I love this book. The illustrations are just spectacular! They are colourful, strong and could stand on their own to create a wordless book. The storyline plus the illustrations marry together to make this book a definite winner.

The story is narrated from the principal's perspective. She documents all the mischief that Teddy and his stuffed cohorts have mustered up during the day. My goodness, while the children go off to assembly the stuffies enter into the cafeteria and make up a new game called Pizza Fling. They make wigs, mustaches and beards out of spaghetti and then off they go the gym to cause havoc with the equipment there. Coach Sherman tries his best to get control of things and ends bound tightly in skipping ropes. On and on they charge causing chaos in the music room as well as in the art department. Oh my! ( My favourite caper is when they break into the teacher's lounge and the reader gets a glimpse of what teacher's really do in their spare time... very comical... made me laugh!).

Kid's will love the wit and humour and roar with laughter as they see all the trouble these little guys get into. I love the twist at the end when the Principal's heart softens towards Teddy. She has a flashback to when she was a little girl and had a teddy bear of her own just like him. Her heart melts thinking about her special teddy friend, so instead of giving this rambunctious little fellow in her office some strict discipline, she gives him a loving hug and forgives his naughtiness! He and the rest of his pals get off with just a warning of never misbehaving again.

Both young and old can relate to the joy and happiness that is exhibited through the toys as they celebrate their day at school. I think secretly every reader would love to have participated in this free - spirited party. I highly, highly recommend this book.

What a mischievous Teddy Bear! I did not necessarily approve of all the bear's antics, but I liked the end when I felt like the principal remembered what it was like to be a child, and regained some of her childlike joy.

Oh my goodness. This story was just so sweet. I'm Afraid Your Teddy is in the Principal's Office is told from the principal's perspective. She is going through the day listing all the naughty behavior teddy and his stuffed animal friends managed to get themselves into. They had a crazy food fight in the cafeteria, tied up the PE teacher with jump ropes, and made an enormous trap in the art room.

Students will love reading this story and seeing all the chaos the stuffed animals get into. I loved the bits of humor that were present in all the illustrations. Kids will adore the pictures that go along with this fun story. It is a must for any preschool or primary read alouds!

Story: It was okay. It could be seen as reconnecting with childhood when it was fun and about not being rigid. It was just a interesting picture book about wild stuffed animals.

This book is too cute for words! And had me giggling away. Thus book is all about humour and children will enjoy reading this book and will gasp with delight at all the naughty things teddy and his friends get up to one day at school. As a teaching assistant I enjoyed the humour of this book and know my pupils will love it.

A new twist on the old "Toy Story" idea; what do your toys do when you aren't around? These toys broke loose in the school and wreaked havoc! A great read for older kids; I will keep this in mind for parents asking for "boy books", though this is fun for all.

Oh how adorable! Now that I was able to download it, I read it, and it was the sweetest book! I am going to get this for our school principal once school reopens (likely in the fall). It is the funniest tale, and my kids laughed so hard.

I received an electronic ARC from Candlewick Press through NetGalley.
Told by the principal in first person narrative. The child's teddy bear convinces the other stuffed animals to come to school with their buddies. They have quite a day wreaking havoc throughout the building. The bear's owner is called to the principal's office where she recounts the entire day. In the end, the principal remembers her teddy bear that looked like the unknown child's and relaxes her punishment.
Cute narrative that creates a picture for young readers that will have them laughing at both the animals antics and the principal's narration. Illustrations capture the chaos and joy of the day. Adults will enjoy the fun and the difficulty the assistant principal has not bursting into laughter throughout the principal's recap of the day.
