This book's framework, in my opinion, was poorly put together. Consequently, I found it challenging to critique this book. However, the description of this book as a crime fiction novel piqued my curiosity.

this was a great start to a series, the characters were great and I really enjoyed reading this book. I hope there is more from the series.

When a well-known evangelist is murdered, FBI Agent Leon Safullo tirelessly works to find the killer. So far he's been unable to make much headway.

And then there's the disappearance of Paul Evans, CEO of a major corporation.

Help comes from an unexpected quarter .... an illusionary alter ego named Pearl/Guzman. He/she claims to be a combination of man and woman who passes as a normal human being. BOOK BLURB: He uses advanced technology combined with microbiology, drugs, and hypnosis to invade his victims’ minds and manipulate their unconscious desires. Guzman is in search of “candidates” to possess and convert those who embody “the perfect light.”

Things get rel interesting when the killer contacts the FBI Agent to challenge the validity of his investigation. Who does that? And to what end?

This is a paranormal thriller of deception and murder. Agent Safullo will have to acknowledge that paranormal activity is not something he imagines, or scoffs at. Is the killer just a regular killer or is he a killer able to use illusion to kill?

This one started out a little slow for me. I don't usually read these kinds of stories. That being said, I thought this was well written with unique characters. There are many characters to follow, including family members who may be suspect. Lots of action keeps the pages turning until the unexpected ending.

Many thanks to the author / Tell-Tale Publishing Group / Netgalley for the digital copy of this paranormal thriller. Read and reviewed voluntarily, opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.

A unique and gripping premise, this book takes you on a wild ride inside the mind of a diabolical killer...one who ends up hitting a bit too close to home. Eye-opening twists keep you engrossed in the story for hours on end, and culminates with a satisfying conclusion. Recommended.

A paranormal thriller that asks questions the reader may have never thought about. I believe there is evil in this world. I'm not talking about everyday crime we hear and read about daily. True evil is much darker. I actually needed to go back and review some of my highlights before continuing this review. I don't want to reveal too much but I also want to convey the supernatural implications that are a part of the book.

Popular Christian evangelist Lawrence Livingstone has arranged a meeting of religious leaders hoping to stop
the infighting of different sects. Reverend Lawrence is brutally murdered and eviscerated when he visits nearby St Stephens to pray. The lack of blood at the crime scene puzzles police investigators.

Paul Evans is President of Helix a successful multinational corporation. He starts receiving disturbing, diary type entries in his daily email. There is no logical explanation for this. They come even when he is sure his computer is turned off. He is desperate to disappear with his son Matt so he can tell him what he thinks is the cause of the emails. They agree to backpack into the Great Falls, Montana wilderness. Paul doesn't realize he is followed by Antonio Guzman who describes himself as a dark spirit whose goal is to destroy the light in the world.

Complex plot that held my interest. Skillfully written characters. Some good surprises. This is the first book in the four volume Black Spiral Series. I will be looking for next book when it comes out.
I received an Advanced Reader's Copy from Tell-Tale Publishing Group. Opinions expressed are entirely my own.

I really liked the cover of this book. It is very appealing, picks up the dragon theme, and speaks directly to me. The writing style of the work is very pleasant and it reads very fluently. The characters are well described and look very well thought out and interesting. The tension is always present and causes the tension does not leave. The descriptions of surroundings, feelings and scenes were also very satisfactory. The story is told very pleasant and it succeeds from the first pages to dive directly into the story. The story as a whole is very coherent and it seems very understandable and authentic. A very fascinating story that you can not put off your hands.
