WOW. This book was non stop. I had to reread the ending. This is a perfect sit at the beach or pool read. One of the most suspenseful, twisted books I’ve read in awhile. Hard to put down. Plan on getting nothing done till you finish this and it’s totally worth it!

I wanted to love this book. This summer authors first book, “Lies” is something I constantly recommend to people looking for a great read, and his second book was a good follow up. Unfortunately this one just fell short.
The first 1/4 set up interesting characters and the last 1/4 had very interesting twists and turns but entire middle lost me entirely in a boring, go-nowhere world of red herrings.
That being said, the last 1/4 was very strong. I wish the story had started there and played out that part of the scenario. There was just a much more clear path with much more interesting dynamics.

4 stars
I didn’t see the ending to this one! Four longtime friends go on vacation with their families and one of the husbands is having an affair with one of the others wife...or are they! There were a lot of twists and unexpected turns in The Vacation. I definitely didn’t see the twist that ultimately happened in this book. The bottom line is...what won’t you do to keep your family safe at all cost? For Kate, she will stop at nothing to protect her husband and kids, even if it’s at the expense of a longtime friend.
This is the first book I’ve read by T.M. Logan. I really enjoyed it. The writing was good and the storyline definitely kept my interest peeked throughout the entire book. Some parts I had to pick up my reading speed because there was a slow build to several things that happened in this book, and I couldn’t get to them fast enough! I’m looking forward to reading another T.M. book soon.

This was the first T.M. Logan book I’ve picked up.
Four longtime girlfriends decide to make their annual girls trip a weeklong family trip to France. They rent a house and all the families arrive. Kate sees a text message on her husband’s phone - he’s having an affair and the other woman is one of her best friends and is on this trip.
This book was a crazy ride and though it seemed a little implausible at times (these ladies did not seem to have the best friend camaraderie that I have with mine, in fact sometimes I wondered if they were actually friends at all) I will admit I was hooked. I forged on rather compulsively because I wanted to know who the other woman was. Was it Jennifer, or Izzy, or Rowan?? Hmmm as I turned the pages I changed my mind....
I’ll just stop there for now as I don’t want to leave any spoilers. I looked up other books by the author and am going to check out Lies next.
Thanks to T.M. Logan, NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

I loved The Vacation! What I thought was going to be a book about an unfaithful husband and not trusting who you thought were friends turned into an intense thriller with many twists and turns. I thought the writing was clever- you really never knew who to suspect! I couldn't trust anyone beyond Kate, the narrator. I was sucked in and finished this one in a little less than 24 hours.
Kate and her three college best friends go on vacation every year. This year, they've decided to go to France and bring along their husbands and children. Kate's husband Sean has seemed off, and they day they arrive to the rental she finds proof of his infidelity with texts between her husband and his lover. One of them says they will figure things out in France- meaning Sean's mistress is one of Kate's best friends. Kate's suspicions of each of her friends doesn't allow her to relax on her vacation, but then her teenage daughter is clearly upset about something, and her 9 year old son is hanging out with her friend's troubled teenage boys. There was never a dull moment in the whole book.
Thank you to St. Martin's Press and Net Galley for a digital arc in exchange for an honest review.

There are lots of twists and turns in this intense family drama. Lies and secrets are revealed as four college friends bring their families together for a week vacation in the same house. As the story unfolds, Kate finds messages on her husband's phone that leads her to believe that her husband is having an affair with one of her friends. The suspicions start and the results showcase the dysfunctional relationships within each of the families. The characters in the story are not particularly likeable and I at times wondered why they would all agree to go on vacation together. However, there are enough twists and turns to the story that it keeps the reader guessing as to what secret will be revealed next. This was an interesting read, but not one that I would read over again.

"The Vacation" by T.M. Logan begins with Kate, her husband, Sean, and their two children Lucy and Daniel traveling to a vacation villa in France to spend a week with Kate's three long-time friends (and two of their husbands). After arriving at the villa Kate reads an incriminating text on Sean's phone that leads Kate to suspect her husband of having an affair with one of those friends. This was a great suspense with several twists and turns. I especially appreciated how well the author gave us insight into all the characters in this story...both adults, teens and even children. All the women and men were strong personalities, which helped keep one guessing about what was really going on and where Kate would find the true guilty friend. The pace of this story moves along and the book is hard to put down since you find yourself fully invested in this story. Beware there is more than one mystery...and you most likely will be surprised how this story ends. I will definitely read more books by this author. (I was given a copy of this book from NetGalley for my honest review.)

The Vacation by T.M. Logan is a thriller about four friends from college going on vacation together in France. They take along their husbands and children but things don’t turn out the way they expected.
The book explores the complexity of relationships between families, lovers and friends and I enjoyed how they were presented.
I really liked the characters, all their different personalities and I thought they were well portrayed, definitely felt like plausible people.
I found the plot well paced, a real page turner as the tension slowly builds up throughout the story.
Being French, I loved reading beautiful descriptions that pulled me into the French setting, it felt realistic.
Although, I thought it was more like a family drama rather than a thriller and I was slightly disappointed with the end which I found a bit rushed and far-fetched.
It was not an outstanding read but still a very good one, I would recommend it.
Thank you Netgalley for providing me a free copy !

Kate and her three best friends have always made time in their busy lives for their girl getaways, but when they decide to include their husband and kids in a week long villa vacations, they think it will be a week of beautiful sights, drinking and lounging and of course fun. When Kate finds revealing texts on her husband’s phone she can only assume he is being unfaithful to her. Things seem to piece together that it may be one of her best friends that is also betraying her. Kate soon finds out that all her friends have secrets and some are willing to go to any length to protect those secrets. A definite must read.

Thank goodness I was able to find a thriller with a twisty plot that kept me guessing from the start! Right when I thought I knew what was going on, Logan threw another twist. Once you’re less than halfway through, you won’t put it down!

When Kate,Sean and their children head off on a holiday with Kates two best friends and their family, the start of what should be a wonderful vacation turns sour, fast.
When Kate finds texts on Sean’s phone implying he is having an affair with one of her best friends she realizes she can trust no one in this idyllic vacation home.
There are twists & turns I never saw coming in this deeply layered intense story.
From start to finish this book was very hard to put down.

I wanted to finish this book with my eyes closed. We are told what happens in the beginning, so it isn't a surprise, We as readers know it is happening, but doesn't mean we have to like it.. I felt like I went on the "vacation from h@## with them. When I closed the book I was exhausted.

This is the 3rd book I've read by Logan, and I've loved every one of them. This one had me guessing through the whole book, and surprised me with a huge twist at the end. Whatever he comes out with next, I'll be reading!

I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for a review.
Four long time friends have plans to vacation together in France, and just before, one of them sees messages on her husband's phone. The messages sound like an affair and reference a meet up in France, so she assumes her husband is running around with one of her friends.
I enjoyed it, even though parts were contrived.

What can possibly go wrong when 4 women, who have been friends since school days and are turning 40 year year, decide to spend a week at a ritzy villa in France with their husbands and children?? Lots of things can and do happen bringing about lots of twists and turns with an ending I did not see coming. The husbands did not particularly get along well and out of 4 children, 3 were totally unlikeable. This is a fast-paced read and I really loved it. Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for the ARC of this page-turner that kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. Highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a great read.

I really enjoy this author! This is the third book I have read by him. This one started off with a bang and the level of intensity kept up throughout the book. There were many clues on how this story would end, but all the clues sent you in the wrong direction. Every single clue. I completely enjoyed this book and devoured it in a couple of days.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for making this title available to me in exchange for my honest review. I was excited to be approved for this book as I have enjoyed previous works by author T.M. Logan. The novel is set in an idyllic luxury villa in France. The author does such a fantastic job of describing the lush vineyards and charming town surrounding the villa, that it almost made me feel as though I was on the vacation!
Four best friends from college converge on the villa with their husbands and children for a week long fortieth birthday celebration. Although the story is told through several points of view, the primary narrator is Kate, a married mom of two who suspects that her husband is keeping secrets from her.
Soon after arriving at the villa, a series of text messages on her husband's phone lead Kate to conclude that he is having an affair with one of her friends. Rather than confronting her husband and her friends, Kate decides to keep quiet and observe the proceedings closely in an attempt to find out which of her oldest and dearest friends has betrayed her.
All of the characters in this novel are complex and while I did not particularly like some of them, I could not look away. Every character has secrets, even the children, and some are much darker than others. While this book is a slow burn, it was definitely compelling and I stayed up half the night to find out how it would end. There are so many twists and turns and every time I thought I had it figured out, I realized that I didn't!
The secrets and lies build ,pulling at the seams of the tenuous ties that bind these longtime friends. It therefore came as no surprise that not everyone made it out alive. It was interesting to see the lengths that some of the characters would go to to protect those they love. I particularly enjoyed the ending of the book and found that I had a new respect for Kate and her husband.
So if you are stuck at home but still interested in taking a vacation to the south of France, check out this book!

Thank you to NetGalley and Macmillan Publishers for an advanced copy of this book.
Four women who have been friends for over 20 years set out on a vacation with their respective families in a luxurious villa on a vineyard in France. But the vacation takes a bad turn before it even has a chance to begin; Kate finds suggestive messages on her husband Sean's phone from a mystery woman--and it's definitely one of her three friends.
Kate begins keeping a close eye on all the interactions Sean and her friends have to figure out which it could be but she was focused on what she assumed was going on that she really didn't realize the biggest issue of all.
I'm going to be honest, I enjoyed this book all the way to the end and then the rug was completely pulled out from under my feet. It was exciting trying to figure out which woman was wronging a friend but just like Kate, I was completely unfocused on the deeper problem. It's in front of you the whole time but it seems so small and unimportant. Any book that leaves me with my jaw hanging is a book I need to recommend to everyone so get your hands on a copy of this book, you won't regret it!!

In all the reviews I’ve read, people really dislike the characters. For me, Kate would move to the top of the list. Logan has gone out of his way to show us that Kate had an ideal marriage. While they had tough times, it was a good marriage. Yet she immediately jumps to conclusions and can’t be bothered to just ask her husband. When she finally confronts him, he’s blase and blows her off, end of convo. Listen, if I suspected my s/o of infidelity, we’re going to hash it out. It wouldn’t matter if we were on vacation. Kate’s with her best friends. If they aren’t prepared for their best friend to sort her marriage, then they’re probably not the best friends they’re supposed to be. It made for a long, drawn-out, unnecessary drama because you can’t paint an ideal marriage, but then have it closed up from the start. It doesn’t work.
The characters are all fantastically flawed, and Logan has written great, unlikable characters (outside of Kate, she doesn’t count anymore for me). Jennifer’s children are just flat out monsters, and I’m a huge fan of well-written characters that you love to hate. I hadn’t read anything by Logan before, so I don’t know if the screenplay-esque style of a character finding something “shocking” (which really isn’t) and then tucking it away to reveal the “shocking” bit later, is typical of his writing. It’s read more like a movie every time that happened.
But I’m giving this four stars, so obviously I enjoyed the book. When I look past all the Kate silliness that drives me nuts, there is a fun story here. Especially once the secrets of everyone else in the house come to light. The constant drama made this highly enjoyable and I think this one will be hit or miss for readers. Thank you, St. Martin's, for sending this along!

Another winner from T.M. Logan filled with all the edge of your seat excitement!
Kate and her friends are taking a dream vacation at a beautiful villa in France to celebrate their 40th birthdays! They have been friends for over 20 years and all met at college! They have also brought their husbands and children along. Kate feels that this is the best time to find out what her cheating husband is keeping from her and she believes that one of her best friends on this trip is the adulteress! Packed with a wide range of characters at different stages in their life, from the single Izzy to Kate and her 16yr old, the women have take different paths but have remained friends throughout. But, that all changes when secrets threaten to destroy lives and hurt those close to them! All storylines came together and were wrapped up in a neat bow at the end with nothing left unknown!
