A very interesting, complex and layered mystery. A perfect blend of twists and characters that leave you thinking of the story line every time you have to put the book down. Great summer read that leaves you totally riveted.

Thank you to #Netgalley and @StMartinsPress for an advanced copy of The Vacation! I read this book fast and really enjoyed it. It's much more drama than thriller but a solid read either way.
Kate and her family are going on vacation with her 3 oldest friends and their families. They will be staying at a gorgeous Villa in France for a week. Unfortunately the vacation starts out on the wrong foot when Kate sees messages on her husband's phone and thinks he's having an affair with one of the friends they are meeting up with.
As the vacation goes on more issues arise and no one seems to be having fun anymore. The characters were not particularly likeable, but there are lots pieces to put together in this one and the twists weren't totally expected. My favorite T.M. Logan book to date.
3.5 stars, let's round that up to 4.

Books like this are all the rage with the younger set, but I again had a hard time with this one. The ending was filled with so many twists. Not for me.

Wow! Fabulous read! I was hooked from the very beginning and stayed up way past my bedtime engrossed in this amazing story. Great characters and too many exciting twists and turns to even count!
Highly recommend.
Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Four college friends reunite for a amazing vacation with the families, but mysteries abound. It begins with Kate finding very suspicious text messages that strongly hint that her husband is having an affair with one of there college besties on this vacation. As Kate begins to unravel the mastery of who it might be, secrets from all the other 3 women start to emerge and we are left with so many great storylines that come together very well at the end. I liked some characters better than most, but overall it is a satisfying read.

The Vacation is about a group of female friends from college who celebrate turning 40 by bringing their families on vacation together to France. Right before going, our protagonist Kate finds messages on her husband´s phone that show that he is having an affair with one of her three friends, but she doesn´t know which. There are a lot of characters and we get the point of view mainly from Kate but also from some of the others which is fun. This is a fast and easy thriller. The characters are not super developed but are not completely flat. I flew through this in one day because the author keeps you guessing.

While not the most thrilling of thrillers, this novel was a page turner - particularly through the last few chapters that were full of twists and turns that I was not expecting!
This novel follows a group of college best friends who go on a trip together with their families - husbands and kids. At the beginning, one finds out that her husband is cheating on her - with one of her closest friends. Focused primarily on family, this novel really hit hard on the lengths you’ll go to in order to protect your family - even if it ruins friendships. I think part of the reason I couldn’t fully connect with this novel was because I don’t have kids, which may have made it more relatable.
All in all, I didn’t love the writing style nor was I particularly keen on any of the characters.

Haven't enjoyed a book so much in five years. I loved it. I will look for more by this author. I was never templed to read ahead, I just might miss something!

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the ARC of The Vacation/The Holiday by T.M. Logan. I had previously read Lies and 29 Seconds and was on the fence as to whether to read more by this author. I am so glad that I did!
A group of four friends and their families take a vacation to France, all staying together at an opulent French villa. The women have all gone in directions in their lives, Kate is married with two kids and has a fulfilling career. Rowan is married with a five year old daughter and a career which has taken off and will soon make her a millionaire. Izzy is single and always traveling, throwing herself into her work since her fiancé died many years ago. Jennifer has two teenaged boys and has chosen to stay at home to raise them instead of a career. Regardless of their life choices, they all love and respect each other. Or do they? When Kate learns that her husband, Sean, might be having an affair with one of her friends, she is determined to figure out which one during the week’s vacation.
I really enjoyed this book, as it constantly kept me guessing from one chapter to the next. Every character was suspicious, even the children. It was filled with unlikeable people with likely motives and alibis. This story was cleverly constructed and the reveal didn’t disappoint! I loved Lies for the same reason, and am so glad that this one followed suit. I will continue to read Logan’s psychological thrillers, as I am a true fan of his original ideas.
4/5 stars

The Vacation is a classic suspense thriller. I enjoyed the flow of the book and the characters. The author kept me intrigued until the very last page.

I loved this book! It was a thrill to read. I knew from the cover someone was going to die but you really are waiting in anticipation for it to happen for a good chunk of the book but I didn't mind. The book moved quickly and I liked how it clearly switched from different perspectives. I enjoyed the French setting and thought it added well to the story. It was surprised to see how the actions from home came to a head on the vacation and how all the different people's stories tied together. The last few chapters had me on the edge of my seat.

This book was just basically drama between friends on vacation. It was a very very slow read and no wow factor at all. The last 10 percent was the only thrilling part of the book. Just wanted to get to the end and see how it ended. Would not recommend. Thank you netgalley for letting me give an honest review of this book

The Vacation or also known as The Holiday in the UK is an exciting twisty turny book: The story of a bunch of old college friends turning 40 decide to spend a reunion holiday/vacation together In France with their families. However Kate thinks her husband is cheating on her with one of her friends after finding a text message. All the friends have their hidden secrets and things going on with their families and children and have all wronged each other At one time or another. But who was it and what’s going on?
I enjoyed this book but did find that just as you are about to find out something important, that something else happens and changes the subject. It’s the first book I’ve read by this author, so would be interesting to know if all the authors books are like this and just their suspense style of writing. I kept expecting one or more of the characters to die early on in the book, but things didn’t turn out the way I expected at all.
I also felt that none of the adults had a clue about what their children were getting up to and in a place where they’ve not been before you would expect them to keep a much closer eye on them. I don’t think I particularly liked the characters in the book but it was still an exciting thriller and I’d recommend it. A good read.
Thanks to Netgalley and publishers for the chance to read. I look forward to reading more by this author.

A good read although not one of the greatest suspense novels out here. A good beach read (if you can get to the b can, that is). Good writing style. Characters a bit unrealistic.

Kate and her three best friends, along with all of the husbands and children go on a week long dream vacation in a villa south of France. Right after they arrive, Kate discovers texts on her husband's phone with another woman that indicate he is having an affair, and that it is with one of her three friends, Now she has a week to discover which friend has betrayed her trust. In doing so, she finds out that everyone is hiding secrets and someone is willing to kill to keep theirs hidden.
I could not put this book down. It was non-stop drama & suspense from the very beginnning. It was actually nail-biting by the end. I am a huge fan of this author and once again they have given us a thriller that will keep you up all night reading.

I quite enjoyed this story, although I found it more like a family holiday drama rather than a mystery or thriller until the last 150 pages or so. The story grabbed my attention from the very beginning. It was fast paced and full of suspense twists and turns and deceit throughout. Thank you NetGalley for an e-arc in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book for an honest review. I read the synopsis of the book and thought ok this might be a decent book to read. I am not normally one to read a book about a marriage where one of the partners is having an affair as the premise of the book. I started reading this book and the question of who the husband could be having an affair with kept me interested. It quickly changed into so much more than that. This was a great book with many twists that kept you guessing what was coming next. I really enjoyed this book!!

Remember, when you were a kid, playing hide and seek in the woods and eventually stumbling upon a rotting animal carcass or other equivalently gross woodland thing and how, at the end of the day, you couldn't remember why you were playing in the first place? That's what reading this book was like.

I recently was given the opportunity to read The Vacation via NetGalley, and I was happy that I did! This was a book that I pretty much devoured and couldn’t stop reading.
When I first read the synopsis of the book, I was hooked. Then, when I began to read its beginning pages, I knew I had a read that I would enjoy. Though I can’t say that I enjoyed every character or their choices, those characters and choices made for a more interesting read. Since the whole story takes place within a week (and some flashbacks to the past), there wasn’t much character growth. However, as the secrets begin to reveal themselves, this lack of growth did not matter to me.
The plot moved very fast for me (in a good way). There was a balance of these people wanting to enjoy their vacation with the darkness that surrounded many of them. I loved how the author kept me guessing on what was going on with the presumed affair and then to realize there is a potential murderer among them threw me for a loop. Yes, it was mentioned in the synopsis, but I tend to push the original reading of the synopsis away so I can be more surprised as I read.
It was extremely easy to picture the French villa where the characters stayed for their vacation. I too have experienced European heat and humidity, and it can be quite draining and gross. Therefore, I appreciated the amount of description the author gave in this regard.
Overall, this was a read that literally kept me up at night due to wanting to find out what will happen. It’s one that has convinced me to check out this author’s other works and one that I truly enjoyed! I would recommend this thriller/mystery to those who enjoy being tossed around back and forth in trying to guess what is the truth. Also, this is a read who would enjoy reading about both adults having secrets and their teenage children.
Thank you to the NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for giving me the opportunity to read and review an ARC of The Vacation.

It’s been eight months since I stumbled across The Vacation at an airport bookstore in Europe, so I was delighted to see it’s finally available in the USA (thanks, NetGalley!).
This book is set in a luxurious villa amongst the gorgeously picturesque vineyards of France, where four best girlfriends from college reunite with their families for a week of funning and sunning. As the days go on, the discovery of a secret affair and the events that follow threaten to ruin everything for everyone. This page-turning thriller keeps you entertained and guessing until the very end. Highly recommend - especially as a beach read, and accompanied by a chilled glass of rosé! :)
