3.5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was beautiful written, with brave honesty. Her response to heartbreak was comforting to me and I could relate to everything she was going through. She shows us through her prayers and struggles how she has a new deeper relationship with God, out of loss.
She speaks straight at the heart of women. Praying directly at our struggles with unanswered prayers, husbands and our sleepless nights.
This encouraged me to be honest with my God.
I found this helpful in this chapter of my life and would recommend it to anyone who’s struggling to find the words/prayers to honestly express their feelings.
This was a NETGALLEY gift and all opinions are my own.

This is a beautiful book of prayers which are honest, vulnerable and God-centered and most importantly each prayer ends with praising God and reflecting on his character, giving the prayers a "modern-day Psalm" feel. She keeps us rooted in scripture by interspersing the prayers with verses/phrases from Scripture, shining light on many familiar passages "your divine power offers me everything for life and godliness!". Many of the prayers felt like a balm to my soul and I found a kindred spirit in the author. I could relate to many of her cries for help and honest explanations:

"My gentle Savior, how often do I sit by the Bethesda pool waiting for someone, some book, some plan to help me get well instead of looking, running to you?"

"I too have felt fear, panic, vulnerability when you, Jesus, disrupted my traditions, my preferred way of doing life. I too have responded like your temple priests with high-control crisis management."

This is a gem of a book and would make a great gift or indeed just to have on your own shelf to refer to again and again.

Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
