I enjoyed these devotions and felt that they were encouraging. I liked the examples that were used with each day’s scripture passage that focused on a specific topic for the day, such as “Entering His Presence”; “Thwarted Plans”; “Prepare for Storms While It’s Sunny”; and “Gain God’s Perspective”. There are thoughtful questions at the end of each reading to help focus on and apply the day’s reading to your life. These are short devotions that would be perfect to read at the beginning of each day. This would be an inspiring book to have for times when you are troubled.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.

You can find peace in the storms of life
Julie Rayburn is the author of "Peace in the Storms of Life. Devotional Encouragement for Women", published by Barbour Books. After a short introduction Rayburn presents 125 devotionals. The topics (e.g., "No Regrets", "A Lighted Path", "The Blame Game", "Fix Your Eyes", or "The Unexpected") of the devotional are always based on a specific Bible verse. The following explanation usually contains further Bible references and examples form people's lives. The devotional continues with two to five questions that relate to the topic and challenge readers to reflect about the topic that was discussed and apply it to their own lives.
This was the first book which I read by this author. The book is presented with a great and attractive design. I highly appreciated the questions that challenge readers to get engaged. The devotionals are only two pages long which makes for a fast read when one is in need of encouragement. Although the book is addressed to women, it can be used by everybody who deals with a storm in his or her life. As such it also makes a great present. I am sad that there is no table of content and no index of the Bible references since they would have been helpful tools to search the devotionals that deal with a specific Bible verse or topic.
The complimentary copy of this book was provided by the publisher through NetGalley free of charge. I was under no obligation to offer a positive review. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

This devotional is just what I need. As my family struggles with taking care of aging parents. They did so much for us and Now how do we cope when age, sickness and reality starts slipping away. But God is there to pull us through and lead the way. A book for all women or the caretaker in your life for inspiration and encouragement

This is a very nice devotional. I love devotionals that have words of wisdom for the tough times in life. This book is very encouraging and I will be buying a few copies for friends walking through a valley.

A women’s devotional book which is thought provoking and incentive book. Well written and each section is ideal for times that we go through similar situations and issues to read, think and reflect upon what we’ve been through.. these sections are based on what women have gone through during their life with bible verses to help women be guided. I’d recommend to any young women or women who love God and wants to be able to reflect and ask for help and guidance through the issues.

I struggled getting through the advanced copy as there were many typos which made it frustrating to read. However, I am positive once edited that this will be a great devotional to begin your day with.

Peace in the Storms of Life is a nice devotional for those times in a believer's life when they feel overwhelmed by all that is going on around them. We can always take heart on the Scriptures and Rayburn adds her own wisdom to the verses that will encourage the reader.

I enjoyed this book, but I'm a huge fan of devotional books in the first place. Each reading contained a Bible verse, a devotion, and questions for reflection -- which is pretty standard for books like this. It would make a nice gift or addition to personal Bible study/devotional time.

This book is wonderful! I read through it really fast in order to write a review. It has a bible verse, a devotion and a few questions to help you really absorb what each day's devotional is about. I can't wait for this book to be published so I can order a hard copy. This book would make a wonderful gift. Thank you Barbour Publishing Via NetGalley for the ARC copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
