I received a free copy of A FALLING STARR: THE COMPLETE TRILOGY by Dani Hoots in exchange for an honest review. A year ago, Angela Starr woke up with amnesia. Though she understood English, she instinctively spoke and thought in another language. Despite extensive investigation, Angela was unable to find out who she was prior to the accident. For the past year, Angela has been visiting various doctors trying to resolve her memory problems while attending community college to get her G.E.D. Recently, Angela has started to run into a familiar-looking young man about her own age; she’s drawn to him. At the same time, Angela notices some threatening-looking thugs following her. When the thugs attack, the young man whisks Angela off through a portal to another planet.

Though this is a “complete trilogy,” it was still pretty short. I’d classify it as a short novel. The story first meticulously establishes Angela’s routine on Earth. However, once Angela gets to the new planet, the narrative zooms to completion with little exploration of the new world or build-up to the finale. Most of the exposition regarding the second planet was done through flash-backs.

A really nice Science Fiction and Fantasy themed book and I guess who loves those genres will love this book. It's a quick read and book one of the series. The writing style is easy and good to read. The characters are interesting and it's a great story.
