This is a short and sweet story about a little girl and her dad. She goes outside to enjoy a snowy day and has her two bears, one in each hand. One is her stuffed teddy and the other is her dad. Now this story hit home as my son is a stay at home dad, who actually looks a bit like a teddy bear. The little girl tells the reader/listener what each bear does for her such as giving her warmth by snuggling her in his coat, or helping her make a new friend. The illustrations are quite cute. Her father is depicted, as large, gigantic, comforting presence. We never see his face, which is interesting. I guess it doesn't matter what he looks like, it is the feelings he engenders in his daughter that are important. This is not a long book, so great for little ones, but it is a sweet picture book that nicely portrays that father-daughter relationship. This would make a great gift for new parents complete with a small teddy bear.

It's good to have a bear, but this little girl has two: the big one has the strength of a giant, and the small one is as soft as cotton.

This was so cute! The art style was lovely, too.

A lovely story about a little girl, her male caregiver, and her teddy. She needs and loves them both, and they need her too. Sweet pictures of a snowy walk through the woods.

Thank you, NetGalley, for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Thanks NetGalley for the preivew!

This was a cute short story about a child and two bears-to me it was a great metaphor for being a middle sibling. How to let someone take care of you but also how you take care of others. I could see this as a great middle sibling/new baby is coming gift. The illustrations are charming and simple but I felt that I could not look away!

5 stars

Our pint-sized narrator points out the benefits of her big bear and little bear while taking a snowy walk in the woods. “The big one protects me from the cold.” “The little one helps me make friends…”

The short, sweet text and adorable illustrations would make this a perfect winter storytime pick.

My Review: This is such a cute little book and a perfect read on a snowy day. While Munchkin now feels he is too old for picture books, I still really enjoy them, and this is one that I really enjoyed. It is a simple story but is so beautiful. I loved the illustration style, the soft watercolor look really lends itself to the soothing story and wintery feel. The author did a beautiful job of showing the different comfort and love children feel from different people and objects in their lives.

My Rating: I adored this book, it is so sweet and heartwarming. It is so perfect to read after a winter day, with a hot chocolate and cozied up together. I give it a rating of Four Paws!

I received a free ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This book was totally adorable. The text flowed very well. It was short and not to overwhelming for little ones. The pictures were very colorful and detailed. This book would be best for ages 3-6. I highly recommend it as a story time title.

Intriguing story and I liked the concept behind the book, but wasn't always able to follow (not sure if this was because of download quality or story structure). We can all use a little support sometimes and whether it is a stuffed animal or a real live person, we feel better with someone by our side for the more challenging parts of life

*Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC in return for a fair and honest review.
I loved this sweet picture book about a child and her relationship with her father, her "Big Bear". There are few books that focus on the father/child relationship and even fewer on father/daughter rapport. In her own way, she describes her father as strong, protective, reliable and encouraging. The illustrations are a plus and definitely add to the appeal of the book. Highly recommended for little ones!

"If you have a big bear and a little bear, you'll never lose your way." A lucky little girl has both and she takes them everywhere with her. She gets ready to spend a lovely adventurous time outdoors in the winter with both her special bear friends.

One is big and strong as a giant and let's her see the world from up high. The little one is soft like cotton and brings her close to the tiny things in life. The big one is her beloved protector and keeps her from harm. The interesting thing about his character is that his face remains veiled throughout which adds a lovely mysterious element to the story. The author explains why each bear has an important role in the little girl's life throughout the day: one snuggles her in his coat to shield her from the cold and the other helps her make new friends referring to a playful fox and some tiny little birds who perch on top of her touque. How fun is that?

The illustrations are lovely and the little girl's character is sweet and adorable. Kids and adults will enjoy this tender story and the element of surprise it contains when they find out exactly who big bear really is. I love the story and highly recommend it.

This is a cute little story about having friends that are always there for you. The girl in the story has a little bear stuffed animal and a “big bear” who is actually her dad. The story points out the different things she gains from having each of them in her life.

Overall, a sweet and well illustrated story. I do, however, wish the words were bigger or that key words were in bold so they stand out to kids.

This is a simple little book that explores the father-daughter bond. The little girl goes out to enjoy a snowy day with her two "bears"; one is her teddy, and the other is her father (wearing an adorable hat). She tells the reader what each of her bears provides for her, whether it's warmth or new friends.

The illustrations are quite cute. I like the way the father is depicted, as a sort of large, comforting presence. We don't need to see his face to understand the feelings of safety he engenders for his daughter.

I enjoyed this one. While it's not going to be for everyone (it's a bit light on story, and is really just an exploration of the relationship), it's still a sweet little picture book.

I would definitely recommend buying this book as its difficult to read on ebook form. Otherwise, the illustrations are spectacular! My daughters loved the story and they love looking at the different pictures of the little girl who looks just like them!

Absolutely darling art and a sweet story combine to make this a really wonderful picture book. The story line is very simple, that a little girl has a "big bear" who does things like protect her and look after her and a little bear who does things like help her see the world close up. We see her out in the snowy forest with both (and with lots of adorable forest animals), and how inevitably they all take care of each other.

I read a temporary digital ARC of this book for the purpose of review.

My Big Bear, My Little Bear and Me by Margarita del Mazo is a thoughtful tale of a girl and her two bears. She spends the day in the snow with her big bear and little bear and they both watch over her as they set out on their adventures. Very touching story with a surprise Big Bear! Give this one a read. Thanks #netgalley for the copy.

A charming picture book that shows the imagination of a little girl. She loves her little teddy bear but she also has a big bear who watches over her and keeps her safe. With wonderful illustrations and charming text, children will enjoy discovering who exactly is her big bear.
