I found the story to be well-told, with believable characters. While reading, there were times when I wanted to shout at Justine for not seeing what was right in front of her. This book was my first by Eva Scott, and I thoroughly enjoyed it and will look out for her books in the future.

From the beginning, I was completely engrossed in the tale. The characters were fascinating and entertaining, and the story was well-paced. This is a captivating story, and I enjoyed getting to know both Justine Turner and Nat Kincaid. Their relationship is especially interesting.

As someone who lives on the Sunshine Coast, it was particularly enjoyable to read a book set in this area. However, I did notice a few descriptions that felt a bit off to me. Overall, the town of Elliot's Crossing gave me a Maleny or Kenilworth vibe.

I liked this story but with some reservations. It had good main characters, who were written with depth. It also had a great sense of community that was also described with good depth. The same is true of Justine's circle of friends.
There were also some serious issues addressed with well portrayed emotions. In fact, there were well developed emotions throughout. You could almost feel some of the fear and frustrations that that Justine (J.T.) and Nate are going through.
I will say on the down side, the story slowed for me when it felt like the same couple of issues kept getting rehashed over and over again. Although important to the story, it felt a bit overdone.
However, towards the end things do ramp up and long held secrets are exposed. And a dangerous situation closes in on J.T. There will be a H.E.A. but it won't be easy getting there.

"I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.”

Set on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast hinterland, Red Dust Rebel is a contemporary small town romance with some sinister undertones for key characters Justine Turner and Nate Kincaid.
Through her early teens Justine has had a thing for Nate and as an adult she’s never found a man to measure up to him. As one of the town’s solicitors she’s comfortably established in the community. All she needs now is a man to love who will love her back and a family of her own.
Nate Kincaid left Elliot’s Crossing in disgrace when he was seventeen and convicted of arson, a crime he didn’t commit. In his time away he’s done well for himself, establishing a solid business in Melbourne. Leaving that and returning to his home town is not in his plans, but with his mother suffering from dementia he’s bound to at least spend some time there no matter what sort of reception he receives.
As soon as Justine and Nate come together you can see the spark of attraction between them and it’s not long before you see the stronger pull of falling in love but with somebody targeting Justing and her business and trying to push Nate out of town it’s clear that their path to true love will not be a smooth one.
I thought this story was well told with mostly believable characters. There were times I wanted to shout at Justine for not seeing what was staring her in the face, and I guess that’s a good sign that I was invested in the story.
This book was my first by Eva Scott and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Don't you get that exciting thrill when you discover a new to you author, and absolutely love it? Also they're Australian so you're going to just 'get it'. Yes I'm thrilled and going to see what else this author has written.
I was swept up in this tale from the beginning. The characters were interesting and entertaining and the story line well paced. The last half hour of reading was gripping and I couldn't put it down.
Fantastic story, I highly recommend it.
