I did not finish this one, it was not for me, I couldn't relate to the characters, and just did not care for the story.

I wanted to love this one. Sadly, it fell slightly flat for me. It was my first Corinne Michaels book and I do plan to give it a try in the future, along with other books by this author but this one…..just didn’t have the oomph I wanted and I couldn’t get into it.

I adored this book! The second chance, friends to enemies to friends to lovers was amazing. Incorporating grief, single parenthood, teenage daughters, estranged ex’s, and pesky family members into the mix. I was in heaven!! I am so sorry I sat on this book for so long!! It was amazing and definitely a book I will reread!

It was okay, but too many lame plot devices to drive the story. The fact that they loved each other, but never had the guts to say so. Instead, they both were young, unexpected parents, living lives of misery.

Also, even though it’s understandable that he’d end their friendship to save his marriage, he shouldn’t have been so cruel doing it and he should have kept tabs on her, asking his parents to look in on her so she wouldn’t suffer alone. Finally, once he knew his marriage was a farce, he should have reconnected with Teagan, not physically, but to at least try to revive the friendship. It’s awful to think that he and Meghan would have continued to live in misery if she hadn’t died.

So many other little annoying things: Keith not paying any child support, the way her mother treated her which could have ended if she’d been honest about the reason for Keith signing over parental rights, the fact that the small-minded townspeople would have had a field day with Derek dating the “town slut” after being widowed just 6 months (and that the gossip wouldn’t still have been that vicious after 13 years), etc.

Other thoughts:

I hate how much asshole football players are revered.
Would Chastity have really been okay with her father’s rejection in her face at the funeral home?
Would Everly have turned around her feelings about Teagan and Chastity just after one talk with Teagan?
Derek was so weak with his dealings with Everly. Yes, she’s grieving, but she had no right to bully Chas and treat Teagan with such disdain.

I received a complimentary ARC of this book from Forever Publishing through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Opinions expressed are completely my own.

Second chance romances are not my favorite trope but I really liked this one. I loved the emotional depth and really enjoyed Teagan

This book was a complete shocker. I randomly picked it up one day back in August when I wanted something quick and light to read in the midst of all the back to school madness. I was so surprised by how much I adored this story. It stuck with me for dayyyyys. Don’t you just love when you don’t expect that in a book but then you end up falling in love?? All I Ask is so so wonderful!

I really enjoyed the story. It was great getting to see a new area of Virginia that isn't talked about much. Wonderful writing and storyline.

Corrine Michaels writes an amazing about second chances everywhere with anyone.

Teagan and Derek were friends in high school. When either one realized that they were in Love with the other they were with another person.

When Teagan finds out she's pregnant, she believes her best friend Derek is always going to be there for her. Until he has to make the choice for his family to break off their friendship and moves away.

Now he's back in town to raise his daughter. But Teagan hasn't forgotten how hurt she was when Derek broke his promise.

She doesn't want to let her guard down but may have to when she starts evaluating how her own daughter is being treated by Derek's daughter and how she treated her fellow students when she was younger.

Now she has to come to terms and extend a second chance.

I loved the characters and the storyline development of this book. It was absolutely one of my favorites so far and I can't wait to delve in to the next one that this author writes. The storyline was simple, enjoyable, and entertaining.

If you love a second chance romance and small town romances or even if you’re just a fan of romance then this book is for you!
.
-single parents
-ex best friends
-second chance romance
-small town romance
-Dual POV and Past & Present
.
Those are just a few things about this book. Teagan and Derek were best friends in high school and while Teagan was in love with Hunter she never told him and even stood by his side for his wedding. Derek one day cuts all contact with her but then 13yrs later Teagan’s daughter tells her that a new girl was being mean to her which happens to be Derek’s daughter. Coincidence right? After the loss of his wife and his dads failing health, he returns to town with his daughter. Derek and Teagan come face after many years and soon realize that so much was left unsaid, but can they move on after so much history?
.
On a side note, how beautiful is this cover?! So dang pretty!

Thank to Forever Pub and Netgalley for my review copy!

Second chances are not usually my thing but I was smitten with this book as soon as I saw the cover. It's stunning!

I enjoyed this book, getting to know Derek and Teagan as they get to know each other again. Friends in the past and now they could be something more. What Derek did to end their friendship when Teagan needed him the most was heart breaking.

This book had the feels...happy, sad, heartwarming... Wonderful story.

All I Ask was a heartbreakingly beautiful story about two best friends afraid to voice their feelings for each other.

Teagan and Derek grew up together, shared all their moments with each other. Teagan was in love with Derek but the timing never seemed to work. Either she was in a relationship or he was. Teagan finds herself in a dilemma and ends up pregnant and standing as Derek's man of honor at his wedding. What do you do when the love of your life is marrying someone else? Do you stand by and keep your feelings to yourself? Do you finally get the courage to speak up and tell him, or do you stand in silence and watch the love of your life walk down the aisle with someone who isn't you?

When Derek is giving an ultimatum, it's either Teagan or his wife, Derek sacrificed his friendship with Teagan. Years pass and neither of them speaks to each other. Teagan is none the wiser to the decision Derek was forced to make. Years pass and Teagan wonders what she did to deserve to be deserted by her best friend.

Teagan is a single mom raising her daughter on her own. She isn't living the life she wanted but she is doing the best she can until one day her daughter gets into trouble at school. When she comes face to face with Derek after years of not speaking or seeing him, her world is turned upside down. Derek is back home to help his father out with his veterinary practice. Derek has some explaining to do, but will Teagan be willing to listen? Has too much time passed for Teagan to forgive Derek?

The heart knows what the heart wants, but after years of hurt, can Teagan move on from the past? Will their love for each other be strong enough?

I might be the only person here who felt this way, but I didn't;t like this book. The characters were horrible.
The teenagers were just as bad as the adults in this book. At one point I was not sure who was worse, the kids or the parents. The plot was thin and I knew where the book was going from the first chapter. I ended up skimming the whole second half because it was so repetitive,

Thank you for the opportunity to be an early reader. I had high hopes for this one & was hoping for DOWN TOO DEEP vibes. I think I'm just not in the right headspace for this one rather than the story being an issue. I'm going to try this again and/or pass it to my mom to review.

Corinne Michaels has this ability to reach in, grab a reader's heart, and just squeeze until the book you are reading is the best possible angst and heartbreak.

Teagan and Derek were friends, and they were both in love with one another...although they never spoke about it and life got in the way, as life often does. Until 13 years later, they find themselves in their hometown with Derek trying to pick up the pieces of his life and Teagan trying to make hers continue to work knowing that the one man she has always loved has returned.

Angst.

All. The. Angst.

And, it's done so very well. You understand how they each feel, and your heart breaks for them and for what they have been through. And, with each little revelation about how life pulled them apart, you find your heart breaking right along with theirs...until they finally figure out that together is where they want to be...and that they are going to figure out how to make it work as they aren't giving up the chance again.

There's a lot pushing them apart, life, things in their past, their present...and, it's such an emotional ride watching them figure out how to get past all of those things and be together.

I loved and recommend this title.

This was my first from Corinne Michaels, unfortunately I don’t think this one was the best for me to start with! I tried to read it a few different times and I was never able to get into the storyline. I love single parent and second chance storylines, but I think this one was a bit too emotional for my tastes right now. A very much “it’s not you, it’s me”, I can see how others would love this one! I could definitely see how this book will be great for some people, but I wanted a little bit more. I love single parents storylines and I felt like there could have been so much more done with it, especially with the daughters. To me those facts were just there, rather than there to further the plot. This very well be an "it's not you, it's me" thing, because I want more than JUST the romance plotline from my romance novels! But the cover is gorgeous and I have loved Corinne Michaels other titles!

Corinne Michaels is the perfect example of sweet, sexy and emotional. All I Ask was all of these things and more. I legit get all the feels from every single book she writes!!

Teagan and Derek‘s story will get you right in the feels and Paul on your heartstrings. What I loved more than anything was that despite their connection, they had a tumultuous history that had me glued to the pages. Overall, this story was great and their love story was amazing to witness.

What I loved:
The history and connection these two shared.
I’m always a goner for second chance and single parent romances.
It was real and raw.

Overall, great writing, amazing characters, and a love story that you’ll remember is what you’ll get from this author every single time! I can't wait for my next Corinne Michael's read.

This is a single dad and mom romance is an emotional story that pulled at my heartstrings. I always love a friends to lovers premise but add that to a second chance romance and I was completely there for it. I enjoyed the flashback scenes that seemed to solidify their attraction for one another over the years. Although the second half of the book seemed to drag a bit it was still a romance that I wanted to keep reading.

All I Ask was a really good love story about two friends who loved each other as kids but were never brave enough to say the words. Derek and Teagan ended up on different paths but are reunited 13 years later when Derek comes back to their home town. There are obstacles in their way of course as with most love stories. I loved the characters, especially Derek and Chastity. I enjoyed this book, and would recommend it to others.
