Amazing story and characters. The plot was well developed with a satisfying ending to the book.

Note: I received an ARC in exchange for an unbiased review.

This was a beautiful story of fiction, definitely a change of pace from other fantasy novels!
The characters were interesting as there is a combination of angels and aliens and there are various plot twists with secrets rising to the surface throughout the book. The personality of the main characters could have been fleshed out a bit more but otherwise, it was definitely a book with potential.

This had ptotential but alas it wasn't that well developed. I felt underwhelmed reading it. It ocild have been a great book if it had been a bit more polished.

Lantern in the Sky was so imaginative. Lucy is a great character and I love that she was literally knocked out by a shooting star. Upon awakening she learns about the Starlight Princess - who must never be awakened. Has she works to uncover the meaning of this we see her friend Valarie and he not so meant to be boyfriend Jason draw in. It's a great read.

DNF at 22%. I made it longer than I thought I would. I just could not get into the story or connect with any characters.
The light from the sky was interesting, but it wasn’t enough to make me keep reading. I had to push myself to get to 22%.
Sorry to say I cannot recommend.

Maybe this just wasn't for me, but I just couldn't get into this book. It didn't feel finished or polished. And while I liked the original idea, the execution was lacking for me.

This story fell very flat. There wasn't much imagery, world building, or descriptions. The storyline and the backstory of the characters was a little confusing but the plot was straightforward. The complication of having aliens and angels mixed together was just a little overwhelming.

Lucy was just living a normal, life until a star fell out of the sky and knocked her out. When she woke up Jason Woods, a new guy in her best friend's life is there. She starts to have strange dreams which tell her about the Starlight Princess and warn her that she can not be reawakened. When she searches for answers she is torn between saving the world or saving her best friend Valerie. But Valerie is hiding things too and she cannot be saved.

Really had high hopes based on the synopsis, but this one just didn't grab me and keep my attention. The cover is beautiful though. I really did try to love this but ended up dnfing this one at 50 percent.

I couldn't suspend my disbelief long enough to enjoy or finish this novel. It sounded like it would have been great, but it wasn't polished enough, and it was a little all over the place.

This book was great! The premise reminded me so much of Gaiman's Stardust while remaining wholly its own. It was a slow start, but well worth it in the end.

Lucy is just an regular girl till one day she is hit by an object and everything is gonna change...

Overall I liked the storyline and the second half of the book was much better than the first.
I had some struggles with some characters and their development and how they interacted with each other ...
There are so many things going on that sometimes you get lost and it stays an bit superficial, while if the story was an bit more focused on the biggest points there was room to deepen the characters and their roles more..

Lucy is the main character and I had an love hate relationship with her..
She is an bit whining and insecure and than spending some time with Andrew and it’s like snapping your fingers and she is totally different.. even one of the characters mock her about it.. but it makes you feel it as well 🤔 I don’t know if that’s an good thing.

The ending is just an WTF moment, and makes me looking forward to book two 📖.

Genre; fantasy, SciFi, YA
Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Recommendation; yes but be prepared for maybe an disappointment, so if you start reading this without any expectation it can surprise you 😊 it’s how I read this book 💕

Thank you Netgalley for the chance to read and review this title. I will review this title at a different date.

The premise sounded interesting but it was too all over the place/ several issues, so DNF’d. The aliens/ angels was too much, it would’ve been better to just stick to one. The American vibe but then briefly mentioned it takes place in a fake European country- that didn’t vibe at all. Overall, too discombobulated.

AHHHH nooo! I wanted to love this book so much! I mean Loog at the cover! The premise and just the blurb had me so ready to love it, but damn it! I just couldn't. I mean it's not a bad book but I am a very descriptive reader and I'm also a character driven reader. This book for me was not fully finished in either aspect. Thats just my personal opinion. The plot and idea for this book is awesome, truly, its fantastic I just felt like it was unfinished. The world need more foundation and explination and the dialogue.... it lacks the integrity of a real conversation no mater when or where you have it you still need character chemistry.

It was hard to picture the world but even harder to really grasp what the characters were like physically and through out the book even intellectually. I needed more descriptions and information, On everything.

I will try nd read the authors books again for sure, but this one just felt like it needed a little more fine tuning.

Lanterns in the Sky introduces a whole new world that lies within our world. Lucy, the reincarnated Starlight Princess, is the only one who can break the barrier that protects their universe from the Urenphians. When the barrier breaks, Lucy and others do everything they can to try to stop the fallout.

This book was very interesting, and I could not stop reading it. I read it in two hours, and can’t wait to read more when the sequel comes out!

I received a free digital copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I didn't like this book at all. I found the story cringy and I just hated the characters. I almost DNF'd it but I always leave a review on any book I get a copy of. The cover is absolutely stunning but that is all I can say I enjoyed about this story.

Thank you kindly to the author, the publisher, and NetGalley for this review copy.

Thank you so much to The Parliament House for giving me a copy of P.S Malcolm’s Lanterns In the Sky in exchange for an honest review via Netgalley.

When Lucy notices her bestfriend, Valarie, is not her usual self, she does all she can do to cheer her up. Including attending parties. But everything goes down when she’s being haunted for ‘Lanterns’ or stars, and she meets weird guys like Jason, and Andrew. Lucy finds out she is a reincarnation of the Starlight Princess, and she must do everything in her power to make sure she, her friends, and the whole world is safe from those who threaten to overrun Earth with dark magic.

Where do I start? The concept of this novel is actually my cup of tea, and it has so much potential, but I don’t know what happened? It just became stale, and I tried so hard to focus and put all my attention on it. I could barely finish it.

I find everything cringey, especially the names, like ‘Starlight Princess’. This whole concept reminded me of Sailor Moon but more cringey and forced. I don’t know, it did not just reach out to me and didn’t sit well with me. I think it has to do with the writing and delivery of the concept? The concept is there, and the world-building (though we did not really go in-depth about the Starlight Princess and I was actually confused, I thought it was another planet. Also, we happen to be set in a fictional country in Europe, so there’s that...) but it felt like another highschool clique war thing between nerds and preps.

I don’t think I liked something about this. I can’t find any, unfortunately. Maybe work on the concept and on delivering it? In the meantime, I would not recommend this to anyone.

*Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with a copy of this book for an honest review, all opinions are my own*

The main character was completely ANNOYING! and because the book is told from her point of view I ended up finding the book irritating at various times.
In addition to being annoying is a confusing story, I still don't know if I understood it all.
All of the other characters in the story are blend and the story of the book itself is not at all captivating and it gets more and more tiring as you read.
I do not recommend reading this book.
It wasn't just a complete waste of my time because I didn't hate it.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for allowing me a chance to read this in exchange for an honest review.

I gotta say, this book was rough for me from the beginning. A lot of technical issues. However, I will say I started this book with very low expectations, especially after reading the prologue, and ended up enjoying the story well enough. Pleasantly surprised!

I will start with where I take issues with this book. From the 1st page, there wasn't a strong control of language and description. It was extremely repetitive, clumsy, and the descriptive vocabulary was very weak. If you can get past the prologue, you should be fine. Maybe even skip it altogether, honestly. Throughout the book, the writing seems a bit juvenile and some of the scenarios are poorly developed while the dialogue can be a bit cheesy in places, only worsening the juvenile feeling. The world building could do with some work, not entirely informative and a messy timeline. But it has potential. And thank goodness the actual story was good because that's what saved it for me.

A very interesting premise that intrigued me enough to continue reading. I obviously had problems with the technicalities of this book, but the story itself is what held me and enabled me to finish. The build got better and better as the book progressed. Particularly the last few chapters, it really picked up the story for me. There was much better pacing and seemed more put together in general.

I have to say I did not particularly care for any of the characters, except maybe Andrew. I liked him. But our main character, Lucy, was terrible for me. So impulsive, unwise, and childish. I couldn't stand her half the time. But I digress. The story is still worth a read.

I would certainly read the next book to see how everything unfolds and if the writing gets a bit better. With that epilogue ending, I am very intrigued to see what happens. And hopefully Lucy will get some romance. An Andrew/Lucy ship perhaps. We shall see!

This story follows Lucy, a normal girl who finds out she was a princess in a past life and the power to save the world. This book was written so beautifully and was an easy and quick read. Excited for the next installment in this series!
