This is my first time using Buzz Books and I absolutely love it. It's perfect for getting a feel of the books that will be coming out in 2020. They break it up by fiction, non-fiction, debut, and young adult. The excerpts are perfect for deciding whether you will try them out through Netgalley. I'm going to look forward to reading Buzz Books each season!

Love all the new books coming out this year. Thanks for putting this out!
This is my first introduction to Buzz Books and Netgalley

Many thanks to NetGalley and Publishers Lunch for an ARC in exchange for an honest book review of Buzz Books Spring Summer 2020. My thoughts and opinions are 100% my own and independent of receiving an advance copy.
A new year and a new crop of books. Over 600 books and 44 excerpts inside this collection. The excerpts cover four categories of Fiction, Debut, Non Fiction, and Young Adult. I personally am trying to be a little more discerning when it comes to requesting books or adding them on my wish list. I’m not sure if I’m getting better at it, or if the selection didn’t pique my interest but I didn’t feel like “I MUST ADD EVERYTHING”. I’m finding some topics are inundated with new releases and I just don’t want to read the same thing over and over. Immigration and other hot button issues are rampant. That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t hear those stories, but after a few I become fatigued. It also doesn’t mean they are all good. Same with historical fiction. A lot is WWII based and there seems to be a huge “orphan” theme of late. I am a little overloaded so it’s nothing against that time period, it’s just I would like some alternate times in history to explore.
That being said, I still did add a bunch to my list. I love the beginning section of these Buzz Books because although there are an overwhelming number of books, it is easy to see what your favourite authors are publishing or if there is a new release in a series that you follow. There is a large selection of excerpts and I find it really helpful in getting the feel of a book you might not otherwise pick up. Sometimes the topic is interesting, but I can tell that I will not enjoy the way the book is written and other times the opposite. I find something I never thought I would like and then I am so excited that I can hardly wait until it is released. I promised no more non fiction and then I added another three. “The New One” is written by a comedian and is a dad’s perspective on adding a baby to their family - so funny and not a perspective often heard. “Good Boy: My Life in Seven Dogs”, well, you had me at dogs so ya…Again, I tried to be picky when it came to Young Adult. Most of my selections came out of the Debut section. With the excerpts, I was able to find ones I am excited to read.
Stayed tuned to hear what I’ve been awarded by NetGalley, what I purchase, and as always, find all my reviews on my blog Pink Purl and Prose. If you want to know what is coming up this Spring and Summer grab a copy of Buzz Books, free from any store that sells the ebooks. It really is a great way to see the breadth of what is out there and maybe find a hidden gem!

Great list of upcoming books to add to your tbr list. Has them broken down into categories and some exerts of the actual writing in the book.

In Buzz Books 2020: Spring/Summer, Publishers Lunch provides an excellent snapshot of new fiction and nonfiction publications. The Publishing Preview section’s selection of upcoming titles is a great tool to use when purchasing books. I found a few to buy that I had previously overlooked. The excerpts from debut authors are helpful when evaluating unfamiliar authors. However, as a purchaser and reader of mostly nonfiction, I wish there was a bigger selection of and more variety in the nonfiction excerpts.

I always am excited for the new Publishers Lunch Buzz Books edition to come out, because I know it's going to be a fantastic collection of upcoming books. This one didn't disappoint. I was however a bit disappointed by the fact that they decided to put their adult and YA collections together, because that meant fewer YA options. I hope for the Fall/Winter edition they switch back to having separate collections.

Some very exciting books are coming to the bookish land in 2020! Thank you so much for sharing! I can't wait to get my hands on them. Sadly, my TBR list is not as excited as I am.

I love window shopping in Buzz Books. I've requested about soon-to-be-published books from the edition. I appreciate getting the heads-up about books that should be on my reading radar.
The books include:
The Book of Longings by Sue Monk Kidd
The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett
The Last Flight by Julie Clark
Seven Lies by Elizabeth Kay
The Imperfects by Amy Myerson
The Orphan Collector by Ellen Marie Wiseman
It looks to be another busy and well-informed reading season. Thanks for publishing this book!

I don't usually look for collections like this - I want to be able to read the whole book once I start! :) But when I saw Mike Birbiglia's new book was sampled here, I decided to try it out. I, of course, read his first! But I sampled several of the other selections as well, and have added them to my wish lists. It was a little unsatisfying to not finish the story, but I do find myself thinking back to different selections and adding published dates to my reminder calendar! So I would recommend this selection to anyone who is looking for new titles and maybe to break out of their usual genres a bit as well..
Thank you for the e-ARC in exchange for my review.

A great way to quickly get a synopsis of upcoming books. Personally, I am looking forward to reading quite a few of them.

My first experience of Buzz Books and thank you - a great opportunity to see whats coming up. Good to see whats coming from authors I know and love - but particularly enjoy the opportunity to read extracts from authors I don't know and to add them to my list.

Fun to have an insight into what is coming and when.. i look forward to seeing which of these buzzes their way to the best seller list.

This book gave me a great preview of books coming out this spring and summer. I love getting a sneak peak into what is coming out and the best part is that it gives an excerpt of the books. This allows me to read a bit of the book and determine if it is going to be appropriate for my middle school library.

Buzz Books is a wonderful resource! I'm thrilled with the amount of content it includes. It's great to be able to find out what is due to be published soon. This helps with planning book purchases and with reader's advisory for patrons and friends. Plus, being able to read the excerpts for so many new books coming out, is very fun and just heightens the anticipation! Great job, I'll be looking forward to this again and again.

Interesting read of the recommended books for 2020. They are quite a few I’m looking forward to reading!
Thanks for the opportunity to read this.

Always nice to get some excerpts to discover a new favourite author or an author whose writing draws you in from page one!
Thank you Netgalley for these intros!

Wow! What a great opportunity to read excerpts from a variety of books! You are guaranteed to find something you can't wait to read!

As always a fantastic resource for discovering new books, new authors and new genres. The excerpts are helpful and the links to Netgalley make is easy to request fantastic reads. I get the latest edition of Buzz Books as soon as it’s available. Absolutely recommend!

The Buzz Books are THE word in upcoming publishing - every year I look forward to them, and every year they deliver, proving tantalising glimpses at a massive array of books that I just can't wait to read.

Lots and lots of great books listed in the beginning pages of this buzz book - spring/summer 2020 is going to be a great reading season!
