Chasing Cassandra did not disappoint! Kleypas delivered on her exquisite wit and passion as we explored the love between Severin and Cassandra. This story left me gasping until the very last page. A must for lovers of historical romance.

Ever finish a book and want to read it again? This is one of those books. It was fun and kept my interest. My only complaint is that is seemed to go by too fast. Lisa Kleypas at her best!

Classic Kleypas. Witty banter and fun characters. While this new book in a series does leave a little to be desired - Kleypas falls into predictable tropes that leaves the plot a little dull - any regency romance fan will be sure to enjoy it.

I always seem to enjoy Kleypas’ books with only a few exceptions and this wasn’t one of them. Tom was so head over heels like a total dork and I liked it a lot.

It starts off slow and kind of dense, but once the action begins, it's hard to resist the story as it drives forward. It reads as a true epic, one that makes you feel the world really has been reshaped as you read it. Would recommend.

I’ve been waiting for Cassandra’s story to unfold. Lisa Kleypas did not disappoint! The Ravenel’s are my favorite historical fiction series. A strong willed passionate woman who has a heart for the unserved and a rich man willing to give her anything because he loves her that much! Love love love!

I am sure a lot of historical romance traders are familiar with the author. This book is part of the series but it is easy read alone. Romance in this book is developed in stages. Good character development, although sometimes I wonder if the main heroine was the best she can be.

I have been an avid follower of the Ravenels series from the start. This was a wonderful conclusion to the series, and I enjoyed reading about Tom and Cassandra. Tom was so different from a typical leading man, and he didn't need to be coerced into the relationship with Cassandra. While ultimately there was a marriage of convenience, Tom knew what he wanted and went after it. I enjoyed all of the little signs written into the book that gave hints to his true feelings. As a bit of an icy person myself, I thought "yep" and "that's love, you big dummy" as I was reading. I also appreciated the humor in the book, which is often hard to come by in romance.

A fine addition to the Ravenel series. Lisa Kleypas characters are complex and often conflicted. Her stories do a really good job of exposing the problems and the seamy underside of the time period that even the privileged contended with. An excellent read.

Lisa Kleypas is at the top of her game with, possibly, the end of the Ravenel series (would a long novella holiday story be out of the question?). Cassandra and Tom were wonderful together - loved that he wanted to be her oyster the first time he laid eyes on her. Also loved that they fought it so hard - it made the social obstacles they faced seem so real. I loved, loved, loved seeing Sebastian and Evie (and to a lesser extent the other wallflowers), happy and helpful. Wonderful book, can't wait to see where Lisa goes next.

But as the two spend more time together, Cassandra’s inquisitiveness about Tom’s work begins to endear her to him and her patience buys him time to explore and act upon the depth of his emotions until others begin to see what she does; that Tom Severin has a compassionate heart. In addition, we get a ridiculous contract, an adorable orphan named Bazzel, and playful and insightful pop ins from the assorted Ravenel/in-law bunch.

Kleypas is masterful as always and the romance never fails to take center stage. If you like stories about finding love where you least expect it, pick up this book, along with books #1-5!

What's not to love about another Lisa Kleypas historical romance? As usual, she doesn't disappoint in Chasing Cassandra. When Tom Severin overhears Cassandra Ravenel's conversation and worry about not getting married, he falls... hard. He offers to marry Cassandra on the spot, but Severin has a reputation as a ruthless financier who, although brilliant, has no heart. His own friends think that of him. Heck, even Tom himself thinks that his heart is frozen.
Cassandra doesn't accept the proposal, of course. But, she is intrigued. And she finds that she likes Tom very much. But is that enough to marry? It's Tom's actions, not his words, which hopefully will woo Cassandra (and the rest of her family). But will it be enough?
Fast-paced and witty, the main characters are more than just cut-outs because they are flawed and insecure in one way or another. This lack of self-confidence in themselves seems to be such a recurring theme in today's world, and I love the combination of a historical romance with characters that are... well, timeless. As in every Kleypas romance, the passion sizzles from the first page, and the tension between Tom and practically every character in the book adds another interesting element that kept me turning the pages.
The sub-plots are fun - recurrent characters in the Ravenel romances make encore performances and the pace just keeps hopping through the last page. Chasing Cassandra is a fun, fast and furious and delectable romance!

Cassandra Ravenel and Tom Severin, two recurring characters in the Ravenel series, get their own story in Chasing Cassandra. Right from the beginning, I felt the pull between these characters and that made it hard to put down. I fell in love with Tom, he is quirky, handsome, and SMART. While rooting for Tom and Cassandra to be together, I enjoyed Tom’s awakening to all the new experiences and feelings that were missing from his life. I think Lisa Kleypas just made smart the “new hot”.

Chasing Cassandra by Lisa Kleypas is the much anticipated sixth book of The Ravenels series. Cassandra is a women who doesn't want to get married just for marriage sake. Tom Severin is a man who knows what or who he wants and that person is Cassandra at all costs.

The story starts off with a slow-burn romance between the two main characters, Cassandra and Tom. Throughout the novel they have cute bantering that came with a delightful sexual tension. However, while I enjoyed the banter and the tension, the marriage of convenience is not my favorite troupe in romance and it the romance portion of the plot seemed to be a bit too slow for me. It seemed to take forever for them to get married, despite it being a "marriage of convenience troupe."

Still, I thought Chasing Cassandra had a great "meet-cute" moment and a wonderful banter
I would recommend The Ravenels series to read for those who enjoy historical romance with witty banter and head-strong heroines.

Loved this Historical Romance by Lisa Kleypas! I love how she brings her characters to life! Next book please!

Very charming book but not up to Kleypas' usual standard. Chasing Cassandra is the latest book in the Ravenel series, Cassandra being the last unwed sister and twin of Pandora, the heroine of "Devil in Spring". Tom Severin, first seen in "Cold Hearted Rake" is the hero. Tom falls into InstaLove with Cassandra. But he doesn't understand the feeling and doesn't particularly like the fact that he can't stop thinking about her. Cassandra enjoys being around Tom but since he is quite clear about his limitations (doesn't like love and doesn't believe in it), Cassandra is determined to have her Season and fall in love. Throughout the Season, Tom and Cassandra continually interact with each other and find each other more and more intriguing. Since this is a romance, I don't think it is a spoiler to say they end up married. Throughout the book, there is very little external conflict, all of the conflict comes from two people pushing up against each other to the point where there aren't any barriers keeping them apart. I think my problem with this book is that it felt like it should have been more. More interactions between the two main characters, Cassandra and Tom. More angst or at least a little more conflict. The book also felt a little unfinished, like there were a few scenes missing that would have expanded the characters connection. I don't think Kleypas can write a bad book but I was a little disappointed in this one.

A+ banter, loved the contract negotiation scenes the absolute most, and Tom Severin realizing he has feelings was a delight. Also, please sign me up for sexy train sex.

Overall though this was fairly boring. When Tom and Cassandra weren't on page together I found myself losing interest and getting distracted. There is not a lot of external conflict, so if you are looking for a basically angst free they love each other and work it out romance, this is a perfect comfort read.

I love Lisa Kleypas books, and this one was no different! It was great to see a book centered on characters that we have heard so much about in other books in the series. Tom and Cassandra work so well together as a couple, bring out the best in each other and being very cute while doing it.
