I have really enjoyed this series but they can all be read as stand-alones. This is a friends to lovers whose friendship goes way back. These two fractured souls, Angelina and Logan, learn to get back on their feet and take their lives back while their friendship morphs into something so much more in the process. It spans the perfect range of emotions in all the right places. I really enjoyed this story and loved the doggo.

Okay so I have mixed feelings about this book. Angelina is a strong woman who doesn't let to much keep her down. Shes suffered a devastating career loss but she comes home, gets her poop in a group, and goes back after it. She isn't afraid to put in the hard work and effort to get her self to be successful. She never has depended upon her trust fund, but advice from her father has her on her way.

Then we have Logan. He is back on his family ranch to heal from the military experience that has left him scarred alongside his new dog. Logan is likable too and is dedicated to ensuring those around him are cared for, and although he's slightly damaged doesnt stop either. My biggest issue is these two have been friends forever, although it seems Logan had a little bit more feelings for her than she had for him to begin with. But their relationship through out the book had so much back and forth. Which i get suspense and all that, but if they were such good friends...why? I feel like it would have been better if they had just met....I wasn't expecting happily ever after right away but geez....a bit more openness and communication would have been better.

Complementary copy given for honest review and opinion.

Tears, laughter and love! This book is amazing and I can’t express enough how much I love it. It takes you through a journey of failure and loss and blame. I would share this book with the world.

Angelina and Logan started the book out both broken in their own way. Angelina figured out her life first, Logan isn't far behind though. My One True Cowboy, is an awesome best friends becomes so much more. Logan's dog Ella, stole my heart.

We are back at river ranch and this story has had me go through a lot of Kleenex. It takes you through so many emotions but it will have you laughing too. Angelina has come home feeling like a failure and trying her best to hide it. Logan has been her best friend it seems like all her life. She needs him right now but she finds out he needs her just as much or more. Soon their friendship is trying to turn to more. Very heartwarming story.

Even though I thoroughly enjoyed all of the books in this series, I think this might be my favorite! While Angelina always came across as stand-offish in the other books, I found that I really like how her character developed in this one. She and Logan were perfect for one another, even if it did take them a long while to realize they were always meant to be more than friends. This was a very enjoyable novel that I had trouble putting down once I started reading. I will definitely keep an eye out for more books by Soraya Lane!

Angelina has been all business since she was 18 years old. She experienced tremendous success, but a recent failure sent her running back to her Texas hometown where she unexpectedly runs into one of her closest friends from high school.

Logan joined the military, hoping to make a career of it, in order to escape his Texas hometown. However, the horrors of war led him to leave the service and return home. He has been running his family’s ranch, accompanied by a former service dog. He is taken aback when he runs into one of his best friends from high school, who he was also secretly in love with.

As Angelina and Logan reconnect, Logan’s old feelings for Angelina return, and Angelina begins to have feelings for Logan that are anything but the “friendly” variety. Can they overcome tragedies from their pasts and careers that seem to keep them in different states?

My One True Cowboy by Soraya M. Lane is a phenomenal contemporary romance with a western twist. Ms. Lane has once again provided readers with a well-written, smooth read and an outstanding cast of characters. Angelina is returning home when her business fails. Here I must confess, in book 3 of this series I really couldn't stand Angelina, but I came to love her in this story. Logan, Angelina's best friend from childhood, is out of the military and taking care of the family business while his parent are touring. Angelina and Logan's story is packed with drama, humor, sexy bits and a little angst. I enjoyed reading this book and look forward to my next book by Soraya M. Lane. My One True Cowboy is book 4 of the River Ranch Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Although I did enjoy Angie and Logan’s story I wasn’t as invested as I was in the previous stories in the series. I liked it, but felt it kept repeating the same theme too much. Also at times liked the dog the best. Would still recommend, especially if you have read others in the series. A good story, and one that kept my interest throughout.

Angelina has come home to Texas with her tail between her legs. Her business has collapsed and she doesn't know what to do. She's ashamed to tell her family and her father is terminally ill with cancer. She runs into her childhood best friend Logan and after a night of drinking spends the night with him. They both swear to never let it happen again but neither one can let it go. As feelings continue to grow can they get together or will Angelina return to L.A. to start a new business? This is my first time reading this author. I really enjoyed this book. Look forward to more.

Since I started reading about the Ford siblings, I have always thought Angelina was the most interesting of the bunch. Her story didn't disappoint. Angelina has come home to Texas to decompress and recover after a devastating business loss. For Angelina, everything has always been about her career and business. Working 100 hour weeks is her normal. She has never touched her trust-fund and has been extremely successful in everything she's always done - until now.

Logan and Angelina were best friends in school and remained close even as they both left new adventures, Logan in the military and Angelina in the business world. Logan is now out of the army following a major personal loss.

Both of them are in Texas to escape and heal. It is clear that although they've maintained a friendship, for Logan it was always much more than that. They reconnect and then connect physically - both hoping to keep it a friends with benefits situation (despite Logan's strong feelings). When their emotions come out into the open - it doesn't make things easier - just more complicated.

I appreciated so many aspects of this book. In particular, that Angelina never sets aside her career or has any intention to stay in Texas on a permanent basis. She also picks herself up and moves on to the next career move - after some really wonderful advice from her father. My only wish is that she and Logan had been a little more flexible and open to a relationship earlier - I understand it but the back and forth, hot/cold got a little frustrating at time. Like literally on one page - I love you, on the next "I'm not sure."

The ending had me in tears - so be prepared!

I received this as an ARC from NetGalley but these opinions are my own.

Angelina's book is one I have anxiously awaited. Ange was the elusive Ford- always home and gone before you practically had a chance to say hello. A true workaholic, Angie was so caught up in her job and be being a success on her own, independent of the wealth of her family, Angie had truly neglected her family. At least I felt so.

Logan Brody is home from war and feels a shell of the man he once was. He and Angie were truly the best of friends and never crossed that line. Now he is full of demons and regret and so much guilt. He is obligated to taking care of his friends Brody's girls in his mind as a penance for surviving when Brody did not.

So when Angelina is home with a big secret of having failed in her business she isn't ready to let that wall down and let anyone in to see how vulnerable she is and see her failure. Two kindred souls, she and Logan reconnect and this time the sexual chemistry is too hot to handle. This two were both broken and battered in their own way and both just as important.

Logan is a great book hero and his Abby is the sweetest. I felt for his character and his struggles.

Angie was a strong and fierce woman who essentially just needed her dad. I loved their relationship that even though he hadn't always been the sweetest most comforting dad that he was calm and comforting and so loving to Angelina when she was the most vulnerable.

Logan and Angie were a great couple and their independent struggles allowed them to come together to for a strong bond.
