I thought this was just ok. It was a fast read but i didnt connect with any of the characters. I did enjoy the beginning but it went downhill. The idea was there but the execution just wasnt there.

I’m not sure how I feel about this one still. I liked it while I was reading it but I found it very forgettable. I did really like the characters and the story line.

If you are looking for something cute and a fast read this is the book for you. As with the first book I found the characters to be sweet, funny and a little out there. You get all the southern small town vibes with a little magic on the side.

Thank you so much to @NetGalley for giving me this eARC in exchange for my honest and unbiased review (Release Date | 01 January 2020)

SYNOPSIS | When Lexi was younger she visited a psychic who informed her that in her 30th year, when a dog jumps over her, her life will change. Lexi is now 30 & after her work so graciously offers her a promotion for less money which also requires a relocation, she goes to Missouri to visit her friend Emma (the protagonist from The Event) & think about what she wants from her life.

WHAT I LIKED:
- small town vibes
- conversation around the Underground Railroad

WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE:
- I don't consider Missouri as "the south"
- I also don't consider it a romance if the hero appears to be dating someone else
- Beau & Lexi just didn't have any chemistry that made me want to root for them
- the "fate" psychic reading & twist was just too farfetched & Doctor Who for me

I loved the concept of this book and I thought I was going to love it based on the description. But I had the hardest time getting into this book. I liked the writing style but the characters were a little annoying and juvenile for my liking.

I love books about starting over and re-finding yourself while also finding a love interest. This book had me hooked from the very first page.

This was a fast paced and super fun read. I loved the romance in this book and it wasn’t too serious of a read. The characters were all unique and amazing. This was a slow burn hate to love romance. Overall, this is an enjoyable and light read. I recommend checking it out!

This is the second book in The Creek Water series. This was such a fun and delightful story! The characters were relatable and easy to fall in love with. A really enjoyable and entertaining story that had me captivated till the very end. I really enjoyed the. Character of Lexie. So many things seemed to be going wrong for her from her job transfer to her crush being engaged. But things started to take a turn for the better when she goes on a visit to Creek Water. This book will pull you right in and keep you engaged and smiling all the way through. The author does a great job of bringing the story to life with great characters that are lovable and endearing. The storyline flowed smoothly and the plot twists kept me turning the pages anxious to see what would happen next. A fun addition to the series!

When Lexi Blake was 12 years old, a psychic told her that when she becomes 30 her life will change in the most unexpected ways. Lexi is 30 now and due to some unexpected things (exactly as the psychic said) she decides to take a vacation and visit a good friend in Creek Water, Missouri. But fate has a lot more in store for Lexi Blake!!

The characters are interesting and the story is light and funny, and overall engaging. But the psychic stuff was taken too far, in my opinion. I give it 3.5 stars. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with an ARC of this book.

It is so hard not to emphasize with such a well written and realistic character! Just taking beating after beating, you are cheering for the main character right from the start! Great rom-com with the perfect amount of struggle and comedy thrown in.

A cute story and a fun read that you need to read! How come I didn't knew this book before? A perfect rom-com read! Really got hooked by the characters. So delightful and actually a mood lifter!

I really loved this one! The writing style was great. I couldn't stop reading and finished this book in 1 day.

I loved the characters and their interactions. Emmie's family is great and I loved reading about them. They are so lovely. I truly love big families. Lexi and Beau were great as well, although they could have communicated better. I'm not a big fan of that trope.

I also love reading about small towns and that's why I enjoyed this book so much. It had everything I like.

It was a bit messy though and I didn't really like the psychic stuff, but that's more my taste than the book. I'm looking forward to reading more of this author.

Interesting story, but I did find myself getting annoyed with the main character, especially at the beginning. Being snooty about someone with an "I Heart Akron" shirt in NYC (how dare they!!!) and being affronted that a neighbor is engaged and hasn't been pining over her all this time the way she has over him (how dare he!!!) rubbed me the wrong way. The same thing with her parents, finding it so ludicrous that someone could ever live outside of Manhattan, as if the average person can just afford that. It grated on my nerves early on and left a bad taste in my mouth.

This was one of those books that grabbed my attention from the very beginning and held it throughout the whole book! This was another one of those, I need to go to bed, just put the book down, but I couldn't (because I have no self-control).

This is the second book in a series, but can be read as a standalone. I haven't read the first book so I went into it knowing nothing about the series.

I immediately liked the main character, Lexi, because she didn't focus and revolve her whole life around being single - which is something I feel that some romcoms have as their downfall. This book isn't super realistic, but I enjoyed the psychic element of the book as something a little different. It's a great happily ever after in these depressing times.

What a great book! I really enjoyed reading about Beau and Lexi's chemistry, and how Lexi was uprooting her life. I really felt like I could picture all the characters, they were so well-developed! I would definitely recommend this book, and will look for other books from this author in the future!

I received this book complimentary from NetGalley but all opinions are my own.
I liked this and it tied up all loose ends very neatly but dang if it wasn’t quick! You hit the crux and suddenly it’s 3 months later and all the plot is tied neatly with a bow in the epilogue. I didn’t love that. I wish there was more of the agony between decisions and chances. It just seems overwrought. I really loved the characters but just don’t love how neatly it tied up. And you don’t really get an ending for Shelby. I wish I had had more time with the characters to really enjoy them.

When Lexi was a child her grandmother took her to see a fortune teller. Now 18 years later the things she said seem to becoming true.

After a bout of bad luck she goes on holiday to visit her good friend in a Missouri. Being a native New Yorker, she had never been that far south before. But fate seems to have a lot kore in store for Lexi than she realises.

This is the second book in the Creek Water book and I loved it!

A little too saccharine sweet Hallmark-esque for my taste. If you like light-hearted rom-coms, give it a try.

A light, lovely and intriguing story. I didn't realise it was book 2 until I was part way through but it can be read as a standalone as it does explain what has happened. Really enjoyed it and looking forward to seeing what comes next in the series.

Lexi's life changes in major ways, just like a psychic predicted when she was a kid. Suddenly, Lexi finds herself suddenly in small-town Missouri visiting her friend, and feeling much more at home than she anticipated. The biggest draw of Creek Water? A beautiful Victorian mansion that screams Bed & Breakfast. Another draw? Hot Realtor Beau. Lexi can't help but wonder if she's actually cut out for small-town life, rather than the big city NYC style she always assumed.

The Move, Dineen's second in the Creek Water series, was an excellent follow-up. I think because I was familiar with the world and characters already, this book felt much more solid and I was drawn in more easily than the first. It's nice to have that familiarity with a group of characters - especially to fully appreciate their large family dynamic.

These books are light and cute, very Hallmark movie-esque, but they still talk about some deeper topics - in The Event, we got a look at the judgments a single mother could face in a small town. The Move incorporates a bit of racial bias and even the politics of gender and marriage.

Thank you to NetGalley for the chance to read this book in exchange for an honest review!
