This is a nice, simple story about a little girl from Ethiopia who is embarrassed about her name and culture until she gets an idea to invite kids in her classroom to a buna (coffee) party where she prepares the coffee beans traditionally, although they are decaffeinated beans (I'm presuming because it's for children but I don't know if this is authentic). The short book is illustrated with color photos and is suitable for kids in early elementary grades. Neither the author nor the illustrator are Ethiopian, but they do a good job of characterizing Almaz and her buna ceremony.

I read a temporary digital ARC of this book for the purpose of review.
