A perfect choice for picky eaters, this will pair nicely with NERP! and A BAD CASE OF THE STRIPES to encourage young readers.

This is a fun kids picture book about encouraging trying new foods and a fun tale twist with Donkey turning green and orange like his favourite grass and carrots and teaching them basics in colour and animals too.
Many thanks to the publishers for allowing me to review this book for them!

If you ever dealt with a picky eater, you and your little one will love this one for different reasons. Your little one will laugh that a donkey loves only green grass and can give you thousand reasons why but when he turns green, his mama suggests eating something different. Sound familiar? It is a fun way for your child to learn about different foods and why can love each one. Little Green Donkey may become your child's best friend.
A Special Thank you to Candlewick Press and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review

Got a picky eater in your house? Then this book is for you. Little Donkey is obsessed with the taste of grass. It's grass in the morning, grass at noon and grass at night. Why even his pillow is made of grass. How convenient is that? He just rolls over in the morning and there it is... delicious, juicy, zingy, and crunchy GRASS! Brilliant!
His mom is always trying to get him to eat other foods but he is adamant saying:
"No, thanks," I say.
A life of eating grass
is jut fine for me."
Gorging himself on grass makes him very thirsty and he needs to drinks lots of water to quench his thirst. Oh, oh that's when he discovers that he has turned GREEN! EVERYWHERE! He is very embarrassed and problem-solves to rectify his dilemma. He rolls in some mud then in some leaves camouflaging his hideous green coat of fur before going back and facing his Mom.
"Little Donkey! You're all GREEN!" says Mom.
"You have finally eaten too much grass."
Donkey changes his mind fast and decides to take his mom's advice because who wants to be permanently green? He experiments with oranges, watermelon, broccoli, apples, grapes, and finally carrots. Will picky little Donkey find something that satisfies his customized palate?
The illustrations are wonderful and bring the text to life. They are colourful, expressive and very kid-friendly. Anuska has included some tiny mice scattered throughout the story that are fun to spot as you read through. This sweet little donkey just may encourage your little fussy eater to try some unfamiliar foods. I love the book and highly recommend it.

This book is 100% adorable. The illustrations are clever and fun. The book is interesting, in the fact it reminds me of my autistic son who only will eat one specific food at a time. As the donkey eats only one food at a time, grass and then carrots, my son ate only PB sandwiches and now chicken nuggets. A funny book and extremely relatable. (Even parents will get a chuckle or two as well.)

This is a cute story with fun folksy illustrations and rhymes. Think my daughter would love it but the galley is out of order and difficult to read with her. Always love to try and find eating books for her - tricky toddler eating!

A big thank you to NetGalley and Candlewick Press for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is a children's book. Quite a cute book, about trying new food. He loves grass, and now carrots! 3.5 stars

This was a sweet read about a little green donkey that only ate grass.
The story had a lower flow to it and I really liked how it was written.
The donkey tries all sorts of other foods but likes none - until he tried carrots!!
The book had a funny ending and my daughter enjoyed it - 4 stars from us!

As the stepmom of an incredibly picky eater, this story made both me and my son giggle throughout. I loved the illustration style, and the little songs throughout.

'The Little Green Donkey' is a cute story about a donkey who is a picky eater and refuses to try new foods. Beautiful illustrations and simple storyline will help encourage very young readers to try new things.
Thank you NetGalley and Candlewick Press for providing this ARC.
