The one thing that Ms Ryan does well is write about families. This is no different. This was an easy, enjoyable read that takes you out of your reality into one that you would like to be a part of. This is what a book should do; put you in a different world and leaves you feeling good at the end. The relationship between Brand and Avery did seem to take a long time to get heated up. But, I guess, that’s what happens when you have a houseful of people. If you want to escape with an easy to read book, you’ve found it.

This is the first book I've read by RC Ryan so thanks to NetGalley for the opportunity to read it. It was a good story with well-done descriptions of a beautiful setting. I also really liked the characters, not just the main couple, Brant and Avery, but also the rest of the family. Great banter and a slow burn romance rounded out the book, as well as a little intrigue- who is stalking Avery?

I'm giving it 4 stars because it did seem a bit slow so it took a while to pick up. While I thought that the characters had chemistry, it was more subtle until I got more into the book so definitely a slow burn. However, the author has made me curious about the other characters in this wonderful, extremely extended family so I'll definitely be looking for other books if this is a series!

There's nothing like a book from R.C. Ryan. I know I'll always be able to relax, find a swoon-worthy cowboy, and a heroine who doesn't let anything stand in her way. My Kind of Cowboy is just what I expect from R.C. Ryan, sweet, captivating, and warming.

This was a bit of a slow burner for me, though I’m glad I stuck with it as it got better by the middle of the book. Stick with it if you feel your struggling

***My Kind of Cowboy pits Brand, a stubborn injured country cowboy against Avery, a stubborn city girl physical therapist who’s been hired by his family to help him. They challenge each other as Avery comes to appreciate the ranching life. Everything is not sweetness and light, however, and the author has a few surprises in store for readers...life threatening surprises. The writing is good albeit a little wordy, filled with family banter, background, attraction and an exciting climax. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book from NetGalley.

This was your typical modern cowboy romance story. It was endearing, full of charming familial relationships, low angst, and a sweet romance. There wasn't anything about the story that really overwhelmed me or details that made it really stand out amongst it's genre but it was an enjoyable romance read.

The two main characters have nice chemistry even when they fight it. There were some moments in the plot that I found a bit outlandish but nothing totally detracted from my enjoyment of this book for what it was: an easy, entertaining, modern west love story. I hope to get the stories of the Merrick brothers in the future.

My Kind of Cowboy is my kind of a read. Set in the breathtaking foothills of the stunning Teton Mountains, Avery arrives on the Merrick ranch to provide physical therapy to Brand. He's a stubborn cowboy, but sparks fly as attraction ignites with the pair. Ryan conjures up delectable cowboys for her characters. Trouble follows Avery from Michigan and by the time anyone figures out who the perpetrator is, will it be too late? I loved the author's descriptions of Teton sunsets. Having seen those personally, she nailed the beauty and the grandeur. Add hunky cowboys and readers will all want to move to Wyoming.

I’ve read several books by RC Ryan and they all have a suspenseful twist to the typical cowboy romance. I thought that this plot twist was much different from the other ones in her stories and found myself really enjoying the book. I was eager to find out what was going to happen to put the main character in danger. RC Ryan did not disappoint!

Oh yeah, then there is the other part of the story - Avery Grant (physical therapist) comes to Wyoming to help Brand Merrick properly heal from a bad fall. The Merrick family is amazing and the love story that evolves is so worth the time to read!

This book is the perfect recipe for a dreamy cowboy romance. It has everything you could want - and sets up the rest of the series.

The Merrick family has been through a lot, but they are extremely close knit and very hard working. With four generations of the family living under one roof- you'd have to get along (at least most of the time). Brand is the oldest child of the younger generation. He has ranching in his blood - and takes his job extremely seriously. He suffered a pretty major fall and injury - and then came back to work too fast. His recovery definitely needs some physical therapy (despite him not wanting to spend any time on it). Enter Avery Grant, a physical therapist from Michigan. Brand's grandmother has hired her to come out and work with Brand, without asking Brand. He is less than thrilled about this!

Despite a somewhat cold start - Brand connects pretty quickly with Avery. Avery is a really special person. She is caring, sweet, and very smart. She seems to have a real talent for getting people to talk to her - and give them comfort without giving advice or judgment. As she falls in love with the Merrick family and Brand - so do you!

The only thing that held me back from giving this 5 stars was the external conflict with Avery's stalker. I know that some level of conflict was needed to get Brand and Avery together - but I think things could have been handled another way. Maybe a bad storm keeping Avery and Brand's aunt in the mountains? Really anything else. It really didn't feel authentic to the rest of the great story.

I can't wait to see where the series goes.

I received this as an ARC from NetGalley - but these opinions are all my own.
