Agreeing on money in marriage is always complicated. I've long appreciated Shaunti Feldham's advice on marriage in general and this book specific to money issues provided many helpful tips and resources on how to view finances from a point of compromise. I would recommend this to any couple struggling to see eye to eye on their spending habits.

This was eye opening! I recommend this book to all couples no matter how old or how long you’ve been married! I will be putting it on the list for those engaged couples in my life!

Thriving in Love and Money is a great mesh of marriage and relationship advice and money handling. I love the heart behind money and use of money... I found it to be especially helpful to move into compassion and sympathy for how I view money and why for myself. I also was able to empathize with my husband as well. We happen to be both in the middle when it comes to spending and saving. We check in pretty well but I found it especially helpful as I have people check in with me often on advice in parenting and money. This is a great book for the library!

Money is a taboo topic and a tough one in relationships. It is difficult when conversations aren't delved into before entering into marriage. This book is much needed for dating couples as well as married ones. It's important to get to the root of money issues and the authors help uncover the complexities of how we process money. I would recommend this book to anyone considering marriage.

While having a good relationship in their marriage, Jeff and Shaunti had never connect over money. When the book proposal was introduced and after the initial shock wore off, Jeff and Shaunti embarked on a personal journey to discover the research-based key to successfully working together in their finances.

This book is the story of their success. Highly recommended for everyone who seeks to work together regarding money in their marriage.

"Thriving in Love and Money" by Shaunti and Jeff Feldhahn is a nonfiction, Christian self help book on love and money. Shaunti got a graduate degree from Harvard. She has written lots of best selling books on relationships, a devotional series. She has been on the Today Show as well. She also does speaking engagements. Jeff has coauthored several of Shaunti's books. This book is written from research about men and women related to love and money. This book addresses key issues with love and money women and men face in their marriages. The issues are addressed from the perspective of men and women. So often men and women do not understand how each other thinks on theses issues. It is important to learn how each other thinks . After the man and woman understand how each other thinks they can be open and honest with each other without barriers. Marriages will be deeper and more satisfying if the barriers can be overcome. There is a DVD set to go with this book and a discussion guide. This book would be good for newly engaged couples and couples who are already married. Thank you to the publisher and author for allowing me to read and review this book. It is a very helpful resource for counselors, married couples, pastors, and engaged couples. This book was given to me for review purposes and the opinions are my own.

I really appreciated the balance of statistics and real life interview story examples in this book. I took a lot from the advice in the book and the many helpful tips provided. The book provides reasons and examples for why finances must be discussed but also how to show each other grace in navigating such an important but touchy subject. It helped me so much to take time to understand the Why behind the action - we all have unique experience that shape or view of money and finances and it helps to be open and honest about why each partner in a relationship believes what they do about the topic. Another solid relationship book from a proven author team.

Solid Continuation of Decades Long Research. I first encountered Shaunti's writing back *before* she began researching the things that would eventually lead her to much fame and this book, back when she was a *fiction* writer. Then she wrote a book called For Women Only nearly two decades ago... and has continued in that vein ever since, with this being the latest entry. Here, Feldhahn and her husband Jeff look specifically at how money shapes relationships and how each partner can understand both themselves and their partner in order to make the relationship stronger. Relying on research specifically for this book in addition to research and insight from previous books, this does a solid job of showing the root causes of much strife when it comes to money and will be yet another book quite a few therapists - Christian or not - recommend their patients read. I know the original books For Women Only and For Men Only helped me and some friends, and this one looks to have the same impact. Very much recommended.

We are a couple that deals well with money and I have always felt I have understood the topic well. Still, I learnt quite a bit by reading this book. It is extremely well researched and insightful. As the authors correctly observe, there is a lot more behind money that money itself - including our fears and insecurities. This book in a methodical manner helps understand what factors might be in play and provides helpful tips to address and communicate about this topic.
