This book was alright. It never truly caught my attention. I wanted to know more about Joey and Gia, their relationship before he died, etc. I wanted to know Gia's thoughts on moving on vs Adara telling her she wasn't ready. Again it was ok for a short read but I would definitely want more to keep my interest.

This is a well-written and engaging book with plenty of heat! NOTE: You are going to have to completely suspend your awareness of In-Office Sexual Harassment to enjoy this book! It's an HR nightmare in the real world, but this book is cheeky and fun.

I have to say I was unaware that this book is a PREQUEL to the other books in this series (my mistake) so the ending was rather abrupt and the story did not reach a satisfying conclusion. I wouldn't call this a "stand alone". Knowing that now, I would definitely recommend reading this only AFTER reading the books in the series.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for providing a digital copy of this title in exchange for my feedback.

This is only the prequel to a book, so be forwarned that it has no happy ending or anything. This book is about Gia and Ian and they get their book with 'Every breath' (tbp February 2020).

Gia has lost the man she loves just 6 months ago. Ian is a lawyer at the firm she works. He has had an eye on Gia since he met her, but she was - and still is - out of his reach. He is only one-night-only material. Will there be a kiss under the mistletoe at the companies Christmas Party?

As I said, it is just the prequel of their real book, but it interested me enough to request 'Every breath' at Netgalley and I am currently reading it.

This novella, is the prequel for the author’s new series, Music, Love and other Miseries. From what I could determine, it’s about how the death of a young man has affected various individuals in his life. In this case, his fiance, Gia.
It takes place mostly in an office environment with Gia, still recovering from the loss and Ian O’Connor the firm’s charismatic lawyer known for hjs one night stands and conquests. When he met her he thought of making him one of his conquests, but once he knew she was taken he didn’t pursue it. But now that she’s single, and Christmas and mistletoes are in the picture , he’s determined to have her for one night.
I just did not enjoy the office sexual innuendo, especially in this day and age of potential sexual harassment.
I was entrusted a copy of this book by Netgalley. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

This really did not work for me at all. I skim-read most of it and didn't love the writing or the main characters, the latter of which is a problem for me when it comes to romances.

Great prequel, which introduces the characters from the next two books. Looking forward to reading the rest of the series
