Jen Hatmaker has a powerful message for Christian women in this book. You are good enough just as you are...you do not to meet other’s expectations to be enough and if you know yourself you can live life as you were meant to live it. I highlighted so much in this book and can’t wait to recommend and buy it for other women in my life.

Where are all my non fiction lovers? I don’t post as much about non fiction here on Bookstagram, but I definitely have my list of favorite authors. So when @tlcbooktours reached out to send me a copy of @jenhatmaker ‘s newest book I was thrilled! I am only partway through this book because I have been really savoring her words, but this is definitely Jen’s best book yet. I have been a fan of hers since the beginning and her trajectory has been so similar to my personal one. If you are a people pleaser or feel bound by expectations but want to live a life that is Fierce, Free, and Full of Fire definitely pick up this book!! .
.

Stuck in people-pleasing or fear, many women hide and pretend, then end up sidelined in their own lives. But what they want is to be brave, to claim every gift, dream, quirk, and emotion inside, to stop performing and start living.

Beloved New York Times bestselling author Jen Hatmaker understands the struggle to find firm footing in a culture that operates from stereotypes and often unreachable expectations. In this new book, she offers women encouragement, challenge, and humor as she helps them identify everything that makes them tick and gain the confidence to live it all out. She leads them through five self-reflective categories—who I am, what I need, what I want, what I believe, and how I connect—and helps them: ☀️identify the exact ways they pretend, and learn instead how to be genuine at all times, in all ways, in all contexts;
☀️be empowered to say yes and no without guilt;
☀️learn to voice both their spiritual questions and convictions; and
opt out of drama and into healthy adult relationships.
.
.
With wry humor, earnest passion, and been-there insight, Jen calls women to the life-giving freedom of leaning into the identity, convictions, and community they've been given.

I was very excited for this novel. I love Jen Hatmaker and everything she stands for *& believes in, but this book fell a bit flat for me. I was hoping for more classic Jen anecdotes, funny stories, etc., however it felt pretty much like a compilation of every other book she has written before. 3/5 stars for me.

This is probably my favorite of Jen’s books. She lays it all out there and is completely authentic and honest. She gives readers permission to be their full selves in whatever form that is. You are a blessing, you are a gift to the world. We are better because you are in it with us. Great message and one I personally needed to hear.

Jen Hatmaker has once again brought unabashed candor and humor to her legions of readers as she shares her insight into today's world and living as Christian women: fierce, free and full of fire!
With encouragement to explore boundaries to transform relationships, and to make truth a guide to joy and freedom, Jen helps address some soul-searching questions in order to find your true self.
I found the book to be part psychology, and part self-help but enjoyed reading it and found it prodded lots of self-reflection for living a fulfilled, truthful and authentic life.
Thank you Thomas Nelson Publishing and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

Fierce, Free and Full of Fire
                                                                Jen Hatmaker

I read this for the purpose of review for Net Galley. Initially I was hesitant about the book.
She writes for today, encouraging women to be who they are not what someone expects them to be.
She also gives thought provoking subjects as to a woman's value, view and vision. She is not afraid to face the issues head on.
In the beginning I thought she was a bit negative on males but soon realized she is simply very positive on females and desires for the female to see her self valuable and important in every day life. Each woman's life looks different but each life has a definite place in life.

So, ladies take heart and be looking to finish the course set before you, not the one set before you.

Thank you Ms. Hatmaker

I love Jen Hatmaker. She is clever and witty, wise and sensitive. As a White middle aged woman I loved this book and highlighted paragraph after paragraph. She quotes many of my favorite faith leaders. it is almost like a beautiful conversation. And if this was the first book that I read by her I would have given it all the stars. But this was not her best and while the block quotes gave voice to other respected women, it felt almost like those papers in college that I added a long quote that was connected to my point just to fill the space. But overall the message and style are affirming and bold. And I will come back to the highlighted portions and will probably even quote them to others.

I received this novel from Thomas Nelson Publishing and netgalley in exchange for a fair and honest review. , Free, and Full of Fire by Jen Hatmaker is a book that will cause the reader to reflect and put a pause on the behavior that women exhibit. Why do we act the way we do? Do we feel fulfilled with our lifestyle? How can we make changes in our personality and do we really want to do that? There are many topics in this novel that cause us to delve into our past behaviors and the rewards and setbacks that your personality has seemed to cause. It was refreshing to read about all the different types of personality.. There is no "perfect" personality and this is explored in this novel. Everyone has their own unique set of behaviors and one is not better than another. It is time for women to embrace and take pride in their life journey. I would recommend that you have a journal ready in order to record your thoughts will reading this novel. I would read one chapter at a time and really think about your life. There is always room for improvement.

This book came out at a much needed time. I believe so many can benefit from reading this book. One of my favorite quotes from Fierce, Free and Full of Fire is “when who you are in the inside matches the outside, you are ready for everything.” There is so much in this book to use in my life. I would certainly recommend this book to others.

I received an electronic ARC from Nelson Books through NetGalley.
Hatmaker challenges women of faith to step up and step on in becoming who they are meant to be. She shares portions of her own journey and encourages readers to become their true, honest self - standing for what they believe and speaking up.
She states near the beginning that readers will relate to some chapters more than others and I found this to be true. Portions of the beginning chapters were a little slow paced for my taste but the final chapters moved quickly through her points.
The final thoughts to reflect on the twelve chapters and create connection statements brought the entire book together and allowed readers to actively engage in their own growth.

Jen does an excellent job reminding us to be ourselves. To not be an imitation, but embrace ourselves, flaws and all. Quit apologizing for the way we are made and use our talents to rock this world. If you need a shot in the arm to help convince you to be yourself, this book will inspire you.

"I Have taken up way too much space for some women. They are among my most severe critics, and they usually reach for Christian tropes to shrink me down to size: "this is why women shouldn't preach, you are a false teacher, you just love the world." (Side note: yes, I do love the world. Jesus loved the world, which is why he came.) I sometimes check my critics bios to determine if I should engage in good faith, and when the comment is especially mean-spirited, nine times out of ten the woman's moniker is "Daughter of the King". The King's daughters are THE WORST. I only want to hang out with the King's kitchen staff, because his internet daughters are mean as the Devil's hell."

I don't think I could ever encompass my great love and respect for Jen Hatmaker in one little book review, but I feel like I would be letting her down if I didn't at least try. Reading Fierce, Free, and Full of Fire felt like I was facing her on her living room couch, both of ours legs crossed and knees touching. It felt like a personal conversation. Sometimes that conversations was advice only a mother would reiterate. Even though she KNOWS that you KNOW, she just had to say it one more time because it is important to her. Sometimes the conversation was hard and unrelenting in both passionate intensity and tender love.

When I read Jen Hatmaker's books I feel like she understands women better than anyone and as a result reading her books give me the fleeting experience of being understood as a woman in the world. That fleeting feeling is something I experience intensely when I am with other women that I love and would die on any hill anywhere for, but experiencing the warm hug of being known by picking up someone's writing is something I think only Jen could cultivate so successfully.

Her chapters on asking for help, finding community, the fluidity of her faith journey, and on what she would march for, were home-runs for me. Some of these mentioned chapters gave words to frustrations I have had for so long within myself that have puzzled me for too long. I love the sobering way Jen can unveil a topic, release it into the wild, put the practical steps behind its capture, and bring it home with relatable stories, put to the music of her wonderful sense of humor.

Jen Hatmaker is a treasure. We must protect her at all costs. I know that she marches for women everywhere and I would march for her any day. I would even march for her in one of those obnoxious hoodies her and her friends buy on vacations. Give me a sweatshirt Jen, I'm here for it. Dig in ladies, there is something in this book for all of us!

Reviewer's note: A copy of this book was given to me in exchange for an honest review.

This is the first Jen Hatmaker book I've read; I've heard of her for about two years or so, and finally got a chance to read one of her books.

This book felt like a time capsule of all the women's advice that has been popular for the past 5 years; I got bits of women's empowerment a la "Lean In", as well as a dose of minimalism which I understand was basically the topic of her previous book "7". You get a little bit of education about entitlement, personality theory (a short plug for the Enneagram, but no real explanations), and loving your body. So I guess if you want to roll every self-help book from the past several years into one, you could buy this book, but then you'd have to explore each individual section on your own as each chapter really just glosses over everything.

You get some real, funny stories from her about her life. There is no real Bible teaching or even Bible use in the entire book. It feels like a big pep talk to look into each of the areas of your life and decide what you want to change. So perhaps it will motivate you to try to change something and dig deeper into a specific area you want to work on. For me, it was somewhat entertaining but not helpful. Perhaps one of her other books would dig deeper.

I received an ARC of this book as a reviewer for NetGalley.

5 Stars

Thank you to Netgalley and Nelson Books for the advance readers' copy of this book. In exchange for the ARC I am writing an honest review. All opinions are my own. I wish I could say unbiased, BUT I LOOOOVVVVVEEE Jen Hatmaker. In my imaginary world, we have been friends for five years; since I first read For The Love.

Fierce, Free, and Full of Fire may be my favorite book by Jen Hatmaker. Filled with her usual sarcasm and raw honesty, readers will laugh out loud, cry, and nod their heads in each chapter. If you are a woman, then this is the book for you. You will feel empowered to love yourself, others, and Jesus.

For a lack of better words, it is so good. I’d recommend it to all my friends. Especially those women who are raising daughters. Jen tackles self love in several categories: identifying one’s self, finding what you need, claiming what you want, figuring out what you believe, and discusses ways to connect with those around you. And she keeps Jesus at the center of it!

Enough following what society has forced women to believe about themselves...now is the time to stop shrugging and own up to the people that God has created us to be! Girl power...and man, did my soul need it! Thank you Jen!

I love Jen Hatmaker. I have been a fan for years, I follow her on social media, I have read, and loved, so many of her books. This book, I do not love. I felt like it was just the same words over and over and over again without any real content. It reminded me a lot of Girl Wash Your Face and that is one of the worst books I have ever read. I will still follow Jen and read whatever book she comes out with next.

Jen Hatmaker continues to provide thoughtful and engaging content for modern women. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this important book.

Popular Christian author Jen Hatmaker has a new motivational book out aimed at helping women to stop pretending and people-pleasing and instead become unabashedly who they want to be. Fierce, Free, and Full of Fire was a mixed bag for me. The underlying Christian drama (Hatmaker's support for the LBGTQ+ community) will likely make this quite controversial in conservative Christian circles. For me, it was just annoying. Although I was disappointed it wasn't as funny as Of Mess and Moxie, I loved some sections of the book. She hit the nail exactly on the head when talking about body image and choosing our dreams.

Jen Hatmaker has written many books and hosts a podcast, tours the USA every year speaking to women, and has many followers and/or fans. However, I was unaware of this when I started reading Fierce, Free, and Full of Fire.
Jen Hatmaker offers women encouragement, challenge, and humour as she tries to help them identify everything that makes them tick and gain confidence. She leads them through five self-reflective categories - Who am I, What I need, What I want, What I believe, and How I connect. She shares many stories about her life, family, and friends.

I cannot in good faith recommend reading this book. It has 4+ star rating on Goodreads, so read some of those reviews. This book is available in audio, so try that. It might make a difference.
Thanks to Nelson Books, Thomas Nelson, and NetGalley for a digital ARC of Fierce, Free, and Full of Fire: The Guide to Being Glorious You by Jen Hatmaker. The thoughts expressed here are my own.

Jen Hatmaker is one of the podcasts I’ve listened to. She’s a great personality that I could be friends with! I have two of her previous books, Of Mess and Moxie and For the Love, neither I’ve read yet. I did see her newest book on the list to read and review on NetGalley and requested it.

Fierce Free and Full of Fire was released on April 21, a few days before it was granted to me to review. Instead of adding it to the end of my reading list, I decided to knock it out sooner. I was surprised to find that I had a hard time following this book at first. Maybe it was that I was preoccupied thinking about something else or maybe I related less from what was being shared in the book. Either way, I found it difficult to follow along from chapter to chapter. I felt like the chapters didn’t mesh very well.

It wasn’t until the ending of the book that I really got into it and it seemed to flow so much better!! Once again, maybe I just related to the situations better. However, I did not feel that this book was Fierce Free and Full of Fire. It seemed to be missing. The fierce and full of fire parts.

Fierce Free and Full of Fire by Jen Hatmaker was provided through NetGalley complimentary in exchange for an honest review. I give this book three out of five stars because I found it difficult to follow along and I feel like it didn’t live up to its title.
