I always enjoy stories based on ancient stories of the gods and other mythical characters. The Demigod Complex was an interesting twist on the story of the Demigod Castor and a nymph, Lyleia. She's immune to the demigod's natural appeal so she's the perfect person to be his assistant. The problem? While she's immune to being automatically attracted she's not immune to legitimately falling in love. Soon the two are thrown into a shifter wedding that brings them face to face with the darkest even of Lyleia's past and the cause of her losing her pond. She's incredibly powerful but all is just not right when I water nymph doesn't have her pond. I really liked the story's suspenseful conflict, watching Lyleia and Castor pull together to fight, her reunion with her nymph sisters and the conclusion that sets up their happily ever after.

What a fun, quick read. I loved both Lyleia and Castor and their unacknowledged mutual attraction. Lyleia landed the job working for Castor because she'd be immune to the demigod's charms. Just because she isn't automatically attracted because of who he is doesn't mean she can't fall for the man. She going to have to quit the job she loves with the man she loves because her contract specifically won't allow her to have a relationship with him. Castor had other plans though. When Castor pressures Lyleia into attending a shifter wedding with him they're thrown into a intense fight between the werewolf who caused Lyleia to lose her pond, the ultimate punishment for a Nymph. Soon the story escalates into a clash between all types of mythical creatures and a huge power struggle.

The story is interesting, intense and all leads to a sweet HEA.

The Demigod Complex by Abigail Owen was an entertaining read with some stand out moments. The chemistry between the characters was evident in what was a great start in the Brimstone Inc series by author Abigail Owen.

This was such a fun quick read! Loved the characters and the fantasy element was top notch. I love mythology, especially greek mythology and it is really fun to see it in a contemporary setting. The romance was well done, lots of delicious tension and buildup, which I find can be hard to not feel a bit rushed in novellas, but it was perfectly done here in my opinion. I was able to read it all in one sitting and I can't wait for more Brimstone INC tales in the future!

3 1/2 Start review....

The Demigod Complex is book one in Abigail Owen’s revamped Brimstone Inc. series with some minor changes and added extras too. The story is a very quick read, that creates a lovely mix of supernatural and mythological creatures, into a modern and upbeat setting. There was no mistaking the combustible chemistry between Leia and Castor, and as the story progresses, we are introduced to characters that will possibly grace the pages of stories yet to come. The series concept is intriguing and I’m looking forward to what comes next.

Romantic - Paranormal - Hero -Quick read! I chose this to read knowing that Owen always offers a great escape for the soul. Lyleia is a Nymph with a past that she is afraid has found her again. She is in the employ of Demigod Castor Dioskouri who hired her as an assistance because she also wanted no romantic entanglements. Traveling to Colorado for a werewolf wedding this couple will face their pasts and strive for their HEA. "A copy of this book was provided by Entangled via Netgalley with no requirements for a review. Comments here are my honest opinion." LOOK FORWARD TO MORE OF THIS SERIES!!

The Demigod Complex is a wildly entertaining story of second changes and finding what we want in the most unlikeliest of places. Nothing is as good as finding our heart desire, but what trumps that is finding it right under our nose. When you least expect it, you find yourself tripping over it at every turn. There is no way you can deny it and yet you just aren't sure about it. The only way to bring the truth to light is to lead its way with carefully laid breadcrumbs down a path that will at the end show you exactly what it means. Then, you just need to decide what do with it. Will you claim your heart, or will you let it go?

Leia has finally found a place where she finally feels valued and content. It has been such a long time since either of things were true, and she intends on keeping them that way. Unfortunately, a person from her past refuses to allow her to stay happy for long. Upending her life is the last thing she wants, but when her internal stalking alarms go off, she puts plans into motion to run far away. Castor has appreciated the good work and professionalism of his latest executive assistant. She is the best one he has had in a very long time, and he intends to keep her around for as long as he can. In fact, when he notices her behavior change, he tries to figure out what is going on as subtly as he can. When he finds something he wasn't meant to read, he realizes that his personal feelings have been involved for a lot longer then he cares to admit. Will he fight to keep Leia in his life, or will he let her slip through his fingers for her safety?

This is such a fun story, and the characters you meet along the way are wonderfully developed and kept me enthralled the entire time. What a fabulous story line that kept me on my toes and let my imagination run wild! Leia and Castor stole my heart, and I was cheering for them the entire time. Love can't be rushed, and it also can't be contained in your heart without it bursting out and reaching the other person when they least expect it. Be open, be honest, and be bold with your love, your encouragement, and your hope.

Abigail Owen owned my heart after this story took it captive. Nothing could have stopped this raging hurricane that refused to stop and refused to be held at bay by caution. I savored every second of this marvelous adventure, and I look forward to more books in this fantastic series! What a beautiful and refreshing rush!

Given this e-arc for an honest review by Entangled Publishing! Pleasantly surprised by this book! I didnt think much could happen with how many pages it was. But it had a good plot and loved that the characters each had a background story. I loved Castor and Leia as well. I was like a bit heart eyed about Castor too whenever Leia mentioned him. I loved seeing Castor’s point of view the most. He was so sweet and dreamy. The ending had me tear up a bit too. The romance was also hottt , will they or wont they had me wanting to speed through the pages to find out what happens. Definitely recommend this short lovely story!

A quick read that blends supernatural creatures and mythological ones in a modern setting. I was expecting a little more office romance, but they don’t spend much time there. I did enjoy the chemistry between Leia and Castor though. The series idea is interesting as well, following different couples set up by the same supernatural headhunter/matchmaker. I’ll be keeping an eye out for more.

If you are looking for a light romance that has a good strong chemistry between its couple then this story ticks all the boxes. I loved that the author gave us a paranormal romance with a mythological twist. Leia is a Nymph but sadly she's no longer bound to her own body of water and instead works as an assistant to a demigod. Castor has known love but after his wife died knew he could never love again so a Nymph who is oblivious to his Godlike charms is the perfect choice. Hmm slight problem with that idea because Castor is waking up to the idea that having Leia around forever is the perfect choice but she seems determined to leave him so he definitely will need to do something about that !
For me as much as I liked this I did feel I'd missed out on something. Perhaps there is a prequel that I've missed because a lot of the plot centres around a Shifter mating but I did enjoy it and it was a fun afternoon read.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

3.5 star, rounded to 4 with high hopes for more!

I wanted to read this book because I recently had the pleasure of reading The Rogue King by Abigail Owen, and it stuck with me like a leach. So friggin good. The kind of good that has you checking for the next installment, and then when you realize you'll be waiting on that nugget, you go on what seems like a drug fueled tangent trying to find more books by the same author. Preferably in the same world. Then you realize how expensive the paperbacks are, and have lots of cookies and alcohol.

Anyone else? Same? That's what I thought.

So, that search has lead me to finding an advanced copy of The Demigod Complex. I believe it's a rerelease (seeing as there was an older version on here called HER Demigod Complex...) and that makes a lot of sense. While a totally adorable concept, and just as adorable while reading it, it does seem to lack the full riotous feelings that The Rogue King brought out for me.

Lyleia and Castor both seem to have it stuck in their heads that there's NO WAY the other could be interested in them, after all they're only acting like immortal children with crushes (while trying to pretend they don't have a crush at all). So while half the time, I'm like awww you guys are adorable, the other half I just want to smack their heads together cause HELLO. I was a little frustrated by their unwillingness to see past what the other wanted them to see.

Okay, so maybe it brought out some emotions for me, but I'm giving this baby a 3.5 star review, because I really feel like it could have been a little deeper, making me want a bit more out of these characters. Definitely worth reading as maybe an intro into the world that has been built with dragons, werewolves, shifters and gods. Who the hell wouldn't want to get into that?

I still can't wait to read more!

First time read by this author and I enjoyed the story. I’m a fan of Greek mythology so this was a nice fusion of those characters into a modern setting. I will say though that the last 25-30% of the story felt rushed. I would’ve wanted more of a build up before Lyleia’s issues get resolved. And that last chapter? Well, that ended way too abruptly for me.

I loved this sweet paranormal romance about a demigod who requested someone who would not fall for him as an executive assistance. He did not plan to fall for her. Lyleia is a water nymph who has lost her spring due to an evil werewolf and Poseidon. Castor is a son of Zeus and lost his wife long ago. Both attempt to fight their attraction and do so for a year. Friendships and alliances cement in righting wrongs and bringing this couple together.

Lyleia is a nymph who lost her spring (really it was stolen from her after a cruel bet ) and has tried to remake herself. She was chosen to work as an executive assistant to her boss Castor as nymphs have natural immunity against the true sexiness of demigods. Given her past history with the tricks that gods can play this should have been easy peasy for Cassie right? Well both Cassie and Castor tried to be strong and deny their feelings for each but we’re unable to resist. This book has lots of humor and sexiness and was a nice easy read with a new twist on Ancient Greek. There is a slight reference to her Dragon shifter series but it focuses more on the modern day Greek gods. This a great start to a series and I can’t wait for book two. 5 stars. I received an arc copy of this book from NetGalley for my honest review.

Lyleia Naiad works as an executive assistant to Castor Dioskouri, a demigod son of Zeus; he is handsome, wealthy, and able to shoot lightning bolts at will. Centuries before, Leia lost her spring which is about the worst thing that can happen in her world. While Leia has a goddess given ability to resist all man of men be they god, shifter, or human, she is still very attracted to her boss. Castor has long eschewed a serious relationship after a tragic loss although women seek him out relentlessly. Castor commands Leia to accompany him to an alpha werewolf matting which is the last thing Leia wants to do because she has a bad history with the wolves.

These mating ceremonies get everyone in the mood for love so Castor tells Leia he needs her to be a buffer; however, he has more than business in mind. While at the ceremony, Leia’s old enemy surfaces causing trouble for all involved. Castor is willing to do just about anything to help Leia out when troubles arises because for the first time in millennia, his heart is awake again. Leia faces several challenges including resisting Castor and getting those who shunned her in the past to help rebuff an enemy.

This is an entertaining novella especially for those who enjoy Greek mythology and the attendant pantheon of gods, goddesses, and their various offspring. The plot could have been expanded more to add to the story-line and development of Leia and Castor’s relationship, but readers in the mood for a light romance will likely be satisfied. It has been previously published as first in a series called the Legendary Consultant Series.

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

Wow, talk about intrigue and drama, mixed in with romance and add to that a bit of mythology! What a great recipe as Lyleia, a nymph, working for Castor, son of Zeus, fight their attraction for each other.

When they go away for a weekend mating ceremony, it gets better for their attraction but Leia's past shows up and things seem to go wrong but in the end, it is just the push that is needed to get Leia's past resolved.

I loved the attraction between Leia and Castor and how he was there for her and when he realized that he had feelings for her, he didn't run away...lol!!

At the end, sounds like things are not going well for the wolf shifters that mated - hope that is another book and we see what happens with them! Also, will Pollux get his own book??

I love me a good Greek mythos romance. I thought this was a really steamy romance with splashes of Greek mythology thrown in. Felt like the plot at the end could be more flushed out more and the villain's demise not so rushed. But if your a fan of Lore Olympus then I really recommend this one.
