Of course I had to preorder this! Anything by Sarah J Mass is a must read! The cover is absolutely stunning! I can’t wait to get my hands on it and enter tho new world!
A another book about fae #signmeup💖

This story truly drew me in. I never read Sarah J Maas but I heard so much about her work. Bryce Quinlan is such a great main character. The world that Maas creates is vast and intriguing. l cannot wait to read the full story.

Read this excerpt 2 years ago before its releases became intrigued and then really enjoyed it when I had the full book in my hands. The 800 pages felt dragging sometimes however.

Excited for this book, but this blurb isn't enough to properly judge it. Because of this, my star rating is technically based on the full book, but, since the review itself is supposed to be about the content provided here, I don't have much to review. That said, I did a review of this book once I got to read the entire book, and you can find that review here:

Would continue reading. Sad this wasn't the full book so I could better review it. I have enjoyed Sarah J Maas books in the past and imagine this would fall in that category.

A great start to a new series! I read the book in about two days. I found the setting fascinating. It's high fantasy, but has a modern setting (skyscrapers, technology, etc) in world set up similar to the Roman empire. There are also elements of Greek mythology (like the human area being called Asphodel Meadows) and Norse mythology (like the world being called Midgard). Diving right into book two!

I read this one a while back and loved it! I laughed, cried, grieved, and celebrated with a handful of the characters in this book. Will be reading the second book!

Great glimpse into the new series of Sarah J. Maas. Based on this, we can expect the unexpected for this one as well - that is not new with this author. The only problem is, the excerpt only makes the waiting harder,

This book was a wild ride! I loved the urban fantasy take after reading SJM’s other more traditional romantic fantasy series.

Great story!
I’ll admit I wasn’t quite sold during the first read, after I went back in for a second time I was obsessed!!
The world building is a lot to take in all at once, but once you get in the swing of things everything clicks.
I was sobbing by the end of this book, which is how you know it’s good!
Love SJM everytime!

I have to say, this was quite disappointing. Not only did the characters fall much flatter then in some of Ms. Maas's other work, the dialogue was also awkward and difficult to read. Will not be proceeding to the sequel.

I received this excerpt from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I enjoyed the excerpt, and I ended up buying the book. If you enjoy fantasy or you're an SJM fan, I definitely recommend House of Earth and Blood.

This Exerpt is the perfect teaser for those taking the plunge into The world of Crescent City.
In true Sarah J Maas fashion, the reader is drawn into this new world, Fae, Angel's and everything in between.

I’ve been sitting on this book because I didn’t want to read it until I knew the second book in the series would be available and I’m glad I did. Not because I didn’t want to read it sooner, but because after finishing it I immediately wanted to move straight to the second book. Can’t wait to read more.

The anticipation for the net SJM book is always high. But after HOSAB, I was beyond excited to get a sneak peek into the next book. This excerpt was very exciting. It set the tone for Bryce and Hunt’s dynamic and reminded the readers of a few of the loose ends from the last book.

Phenomenal fantasy romance! I love SM
characters and how she brings them to life. She has talent to make you see them as real!! The fantasy world is complex, but very complicated and also excellent. In love with the romance of Quinn and Hunt!!
I can’t wait to read more!!!

A more mature version of Sarah J. Maas’s previous books shows us just how good she really is at world building in many different instances. Though her worlds can be similar, this modern version of Fae and others was a great addition to her catalog. The story moves quickly, giving the main character Bryce Quinlan a great path to follow and leads the reader to being excited that this is her first installment in this series.

Wow what an amazing excerpt!! I mean I’ve read other SJM books before, notably her ACOTAR series, but this excerpt made me believe there may be a new #1 SJM book in my life!! Bryce is so fun and already an interesting character!! I can’t wait to see what happens next! :)

The beginning of the book was extremely hard for me to read. It is extremely slow paced and focused on world building. There was really nothing for me to grab onto or be interested in. After reading the whole book the last 100 pages are a lot better, but I still was 50/50 on if I would continue on with this series or not. In the end I decide to continue on because Sarah J. Maas is an author I trust and I have enjoyed all her other books.

The first 200 pages were hard to get through because there were so much info dumping. But after that I wanted to read this book every minute I had free. This story sucked me in. And the last 200 pages... WHOA, what a ride. Loved it.
