Disclaimer : I received a copy of this book in exchange of an honest review.

This manga was highly entertaining, I had a blast reading through it. This was definitely a one sitting type of read, The main character is reminiscent of how Naruto from the manga "Naruto" was, he is strong willed, kind and courageous. He values friends above everything, the story really takes off when he eats a cursed object to save his friends from a "demon/yokai/ghost".
I loved the setting even though it started with something in a complete different direction than the one the story took. The way our main character meets the one who will break the curse/expel the demon that is killing his friends, was super interesting, they have this very annoyed with one another relationship which is super entertaining to read about.
Overall, I had a great time and I really don't want to give too much away since there is very little I can say that won't spoil it.
I recommend this book to people who enjoy supernatural reads with elements of ghosts, demons and a lot LOT of ACTION.
I highly recommend it.
Entertaining and fun, but do not expect anything that will blow you away.
3.5/5 stars

Was not a big fan of the water markings over the pages which took away from me completely immersing myself into the story as I should have been. i know this is the publishers idea of "protecting" themselves from pirating, but the need to come up with a better watermark that doesn't get in the way of ARC readers enjoying their product.
With that being said, from what I could get into, I really did enjoy the story. A common Trope with this genre of manga, but still a favorite as I love to see the different takes on the same story. I liked the illustrations behind the blatant watermarks. If it isn't already [in the works] as an anime in Japan, than I can most certainly see it happening sometime in the future.
2 Stars knocked off just for the watermarks, but it really is a 5-Star story/manga..

If I had died, or I had been the only to live the future wouldn’t be as bright.

There is something to be said about shonen manga. It can be too much at times. Sometimes you’re just not in the mood for constant action or an array of characters you know you’ll never be able to keep up with. When done right however it can blow you away and keep you engaged throughout the entire volume, nonstop battle scenes be damned. This is one such manga and I am so happy that I requested to read it and that I was approved for it.

I had never heard of Jujutsu Kaisen before and when I first started reading I was strongly reminded of the early volumes of Bleach that I devoured voraciously. Those were the days when Ichigo Kurosaki first became a Soul Reaper and spent his days hunting down Hollows.

Jujutsu Kaisen follows Yuuji Itadori a high school student who is also a member of the Occult Club whixh is cool as fuck. Of course at the Occult Club they do the most Occultish thing possible and unseal a talisman which is a rotting finger (metal as fuck) whixh attracts Curses to the school. Curses are creatures that are attracted through negative emotions. Unable to defeat it in his human state Yuuji SWALLOWS the finger and well...he becomes the host of a powerful demon. Due to this he must now become exorcised by Sorcerers. There’s a catch however. Yuuji is still able to retain his human side and seeing this another sorcerer decides to bring Yuuji to Tokyo Metropolitan Magic Technical College to propose a planz That plan is to postpone Yuuji's death until he eats the rest of the demon’s fingers.

And then they kill him. Once and for all.

This was

Wow.

It was so good though.

It’s horror mixed with action mixed with fantasy and I LOVED IT ALL.

There’s also a ton of humor which is necessary for such a heavy topic of demon possession and all.

The side characters are all just as wonderful. I have to admit I hate mangas where the cast is HUGE. It’s so hard to keep track of it all. This is why I stopped reading Bleach. It got so convoluted and I just...could not do it anymore. My attention span isn’t the greatest, okay. This kept me on the edge and yes ended on a cliffhanger which is fine. Leave me wanting more.

There’s also a kick ass female character which yas girl yas. All in all, this is definitely a manga to read if you’re into fantasy/sci-fi/horror. Which as we all know Amanda very much is.

Thanks very much to Netgalley and the publisher for this copy of my ARC.

Great story, no annoying tropes in this first volume. A reasonable protagonist surrounded by a cast of reasonable supporting characters. Looking forward to seeing where the rest of the story goes.

It took me a while to get caught up in the story, seemed like the beginning was confused and somehow slow, but I actually liked it! I do not read a lot of manga and am more like exploring at the moment, but this would be great for boys in need of action and some demonical aspects. Very good!

I could not read "Jujutsu Kaisen, Vol. 1" due to formatting issues and watermarks over the entire page.

I could not read this file. The pages do not turn on Adobe Editions. I tried this on my two ipads and on my phone but it was not turning the pages. I enjoy manga and so I really wanted to read this. Unfortunately I wont be able to review this.
