Naruto is a classic manga series that is very popular. I really enjoyed this first volume. I loved everything about it- the world, the characters, the plot. I can't wait to read volume 2!

I'll be honest here, it's Naruto. There's not a lot much else to say if you've been anywhere near anime or manga in the past decade or so. For those who don't know, this is a shounen series, or series aimed at young boys. You can expect zero to hero storylines, tournaments, levelling up to get stronger, and a bit of melodrama for good measure.

All in all, Naruto is a classic of the genre that everyone should at least give a shot. Give volume 1 a try and see if it works for you. This is a great beginning to the series as it build the world of the rest of the series uses. This is a great manga for teens up to adults, especially those who are a fan of martial arts and making complex shapes with your hands.

If you're already reading Boruto, you owe it to yourself to go back and read Naruto too.

A story about a young ninja-in-training with big aspirations and an even bigger destiny.

I feel that Manga always takes a while to get into. The first volume doesn't do much more than just set up the rest of the series, which is understandable but isn't that compelling a read, hence the lower rating. I have heard nothing but good things about this series though, so I'd love to continue reading and get into the good stuff.

Thank you to both Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC of this title.

Naruto is pretty much classic at this point as far as manga goes. Re-releasing #1 at a time when any schoolyard has at least one kid Naruto-running is a no brainer. This is a great start to a well-loved franchise and is a way to quickly get older boys hooked into reading. It's now a staple in our library and is a fun, quick read.

Just as great as the anime. Who doesn't love Naruto and his growth? Naruto is such a solid character with so much depth to him. I love the emotion he evokes every turn of the page.

Delightful to go back to where it all began! Naruto is a vibrant protagonist and the first issue sets up the shinobi world he inhabits and his goals really clearly. He's an annoying kid, but you still want to see him achieve his dreams. The art style is quite blunt, particularly compared to more recent titles, but it's iconic and suits the action-driven stories being told.
Great to see titles from Viz on Netgalley as well!

The depth and surreal vibe is as endearing as it is entertaining and fun. Super cool, I like Naruto and my heart goes out to him, but I am in love with Sasuke...with Sakura!!! I love Kakashi, too.! So hot 😍😍😍

A super cute anime manga that inspired material for an entire generation to grow up on.

Thank you NetGalley for providing an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

This volume was a very easy and fun read. Not really my style, shounen is usually a hit or miss for me and this was just somewhere in the middle. It had some funny moments and was fun to read. I might continue the series at a later date, but I’m just not very invested in it at the moment.

I was given a copy of this book for free from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

This is a volume I've read before and I was honored to be able to review it. I love this series. I love the artwork, the dialogue, and the story. Definately one of my favorite series of all time.

Naruto is an icon. Great for a first time manga reader or a longterm fan. Even if you think you're not into ninja, give this fantastic series a try.

While growing up as a kid I had heard of Naruto but didn't know much about it. When I saw that it was able for request on here, I had to request it. I'm so glad I did. I gave this a four out five stars. I enjoyed the art and the story kept me engaged. I would consider continuing on with the other ones in the series.

Thank you for providing me with a review copy. I'm fairly new to manta and they're usually hit or miss for me. Unfortunately, this one was a miss - I didn't like any of the characters and found the storyline a little hard to follow

I got this book for my boys (twins age 12) and they read it so fast I got the whole set for them. They finished it in a week. It does have some swearing and a girl with no clothes (hidden by smoke) but honestly I can deal with that if my boys are willing to spend time reading instead of playing video games. My boys said this is probably the best Manga they have read so far. It is exciting and unpredictable. They loved the artwork and they were very sad when it ended.

I loved watching the Naruto anime but this is my first time being able to read the manga.
I loved it. Just as captivating as the show with an amazing storyline and wonderful graphics.
Can't wait to continue the series!

This is a great set of adventures with Naruto. i was introduced to the character on Netflix, and this book follows closely. It's a fun read. I just wish the watermarks put into the text (it was offered on Netgalley) were not so heavy as they really took away from the enjoyment of reading.

Naruto is such an iconic part of manga/anime I almost felt obligated to give it a try. And I liked it better than I expected. It's a solid premise with plenty of room for complication and expansion. While there were elements that didn't resonate with me, overall it was a pleasant read.

Naruto (Volume 1) by Masashi Kishimoto, 186 pages. GRAPHIC NOVEL. VIZ Media, 2003. $10.
Language: PG (6 swears, 0 “f”); Mature Content: PG13; Violence: PG13
BUYING ADVISORY: HS - OPTIONAL
AUDIENCE APPEAL: HIGH
An orphan shunned by the village, Naruto has become a prankster for acknowledgement and attention. One day, though, he’ll be the best ninja and everyone will finally give him the respect he deserves! But first Naruto has to graduate from the ninja academy.
I really enjoyed watching Naruto, the television series, when I was in middle school and high school, so I was excited to read it. The show and the book stay very true to each other, and it brings back a lot of good memories for me, but I had forgotten how crude it is. I’m disappointed that I don’t like it as much as I remember, but it’s also possible that it gets better and less crude in subsequent volumes. The mature content rating is for nudity, and the violence is for battle gore.

'Naruto, Vol. 01: Uzumaki Naruto' by Masashi Kishimoto with translation by Katy Bridges is a collection of comics from the early days of the manga in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in 1999.

Naruto is a fox spirit forced to be a boy. He is mocked because he has no parents and he loves to play pranks. He wants to be a warrior and he loves ramen, especially if one of his teachers buys it. He is also failing his classes because he can't create a doppelganger. His solutions to problems are comical and unusual, and he can even surprise himself sometimes.

I have a small familiarity with this character, but I enjoyed this look at his origins. There are author notes throughout and the art does improve as the book goes along. It's a bit rough to start, but you can see the beginnings of a great story idea.

I received a review copy of this manga from VIZ Media and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for allowing me to review this manga.
